Sarasota Catering did an amazing job providing excellent food and attentive service for a family event. The staff arrived on time and worked nonstop throughout the day and into the late evening. They were friendly, professional and gracious. The strolling hor d' oeuvres were presented beautifully and perfectly prepared. The bartender kept up and was knowledgeable. Our dinner was a high point and beautifully executed. We had several options so I went with the grouper. The picture came out kind of flat because of the lighting but it was delicious. We had a 70th birthday party and invited the neighborhood to the pool pavilion. Sarasota catering brought a huge grill and made the best hotdogs, hamburgers and chicken skewers. They had all the sauces and fabulous sides. The desserts or different types of baked goods that were wonderful. Their staff helped clean up as plates were used and everything went very smoothly. Sarasota Catering catered my daughters wedding at the Mote Aquarium on 6-3-23. They did an amazing job!! They provided drinks outside at the Chickee Hut prior to the wedding, then we had passed hors devours inside the aquarium with a cocktail hour, before the catered dinner at the New Pass Room. The food was excellent and the service was top notch! The bride and groom were able to sample and select the choices they wanted for their special day ahead of time and every dish was just as amazing as the samples they selected prior!! I highly recommend Sarasota Catering for your next event or reception!! Wish I had a photo of the buffet set up because it was amazing!! Sarasota Catering Company surpassed my expectations. I inquired within dozens of catering companies and this one stood out for having a large and diverse menu with reasonable prices. Sashi was wonderful to work with and helped me to perfect my beach wedding reception. We spoke and emailed back and forth for months. My proposal probably updated 20 times throughout the process as I made up my mind. Sashi was a consummate professional who offered great advice and solid recommendations. The tasting was held at a quaint train depot in Venice. Nothing fancy about the location but the quality of food and the presentation validated our choices. My fiancé (at the time) and I were quite impressed. Lance catered the wedding. He was late due to inclement weather over the sunshine skyway but he didn't delay the ceremony or anything. He served everyone up like a rockstar, down to hand carving the meat. Appetizers were Chicken Satay and two brie wheels with crackers. Buffet dinner included Strawberry Salad with choice of homemade raspberry vinaigrette or balsamic dressing, Rolls with butter, grilled mahi mahi with tropical fruit salsa, rosemary scented potatoes, red pepper and squash medley, and the herb crusted sirloin with lemon butter. Everything was absolutely delicious and completely unaffected by the long drive. The sirloin was medium rare as requested and perfectly tender. The veggies were seasoned brilliantly and also prepared well. The strawberry salad was a huge hit as well as the tropical salsa. Dessert included fruit skewers with honey yogurt and mini mousse cups -chocolate, white chocolate, and raspberry. Those little cups are addictive! Lance packed up our leftovers and cleaned up like a ninja. I don't think he ever broke a sweat. We ate our leftovers for days and talked about ordering from Sarasota for every occasion from now on. I don't usually post reviews but the wedding I attended, catered by the Sarasota Catering Company, was less than mediocre. The appetizers were the best part of the experience, going downhill from there. The fish was not cooked and the sides were tasteless. Two of the female workers were snide, rude, insulting, and obviously did not want to be there. This is not an assumption, they were exchanging negative comments to each other, in front of the guests. Everyone has a bad day but when you are hired to cater an event, especially a wedding, you should be professional and courteous. read more

I just came back from a wedding that was catered by Sarasota Catering and everything was outstanding. Lance, was a rock star and took care of over 40 people BY HIMSELF! From carving the meat, to serving everyone. He was the true MVP of the wedding (my apologies to the bride and groom) STRAWBERRY SALAD! YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!! I would have all my dinners catered by Sarasota Catering if I could have them make me their strawberry salad with a homemade raspberry vinaigrette.. So good! They had their mahi mahi and their herb crusted sirloin and their roasted scented potatoes. The menu at the wedding also featured red pepper and sqaush but since I think bell peppers are evil, I did not eat that. However, the rest of the food was amazing. The steak was perfection and the mahi mahi was great but in my opinion the true star of the show in my opinion was the strawberry salad! read more

This past weekend my wife and I threw a housewarming / pool party. Nothing fancy, nothing stuffy. Just a party for friends to have a good time and enjoy our new home. SCC was awesome from the beginning. Talking with Allison over the phone about the logistics of the party and what they could do was extremely easy. We went with the Casual Stations Menu that consisted of a Hamburger Slider Bar, Pulled Pork, Mac and Cheese, pot stickers and desserts. All of the food was excellent. The staff was topnotch. They showed up on time, were very efficient setting up and kept up with things that were not even on my radar (I always forget about the ice bucket). If you are planning an event this company is by far the easiest and most professional company I have worked with to date. Rita helped me organize a party on the beach in siesta key and it went perfectly. She even went so far as to visit the site and plan the agenda according to my specifications. Not overwhelming but plenty of choices! Rita was very helpful and honest about which items really don't hold up so well when being delivered for a later serving which I appreciated. The delivery was on time and I was graciously informed of everything from the display cards that also included common dietary info, to how to pack up the serving traysfor pick up the next day, which included "don't bother washing anything" since they must redo it anyway. Things started off really well with Sarasota Catering Company. We really liked Allison - she was very personable, flexible and accommodating. Then, Allison left, and things started to go downhill. For one, Sashi never mentioned to us that we had not already paid for plates and silverware for our wedding reception. In fact, the plates and silverware were listed in our contract, but because there was no price associated with them, apparently they were not included in our contract, and we had not paid for them (those seem like pretty important items for a caterer event). Our wedding coordinator was actually the person who discovered that we were missing plates and silverware...two weeks before the wedding! Gabe and I had to order our own online, as the catering company wanted to charge almost $300 for disposable plates and silverware! The day of the event, the catering staff was professional and the food was good. However, after the event, Sashi tried to charge us extra for cleanup. First, I wish the staff labor time had been accurately estimated from the beginning. Two, our wedding was very small (40 people), so I'm not sure why an extra person was unexpectedly needed for cleanup. Finally, Sashi did not tell me that they were charging extra for labor - I went back to our most recent invoice, and found that we were being charged extra. Sashi had no clue where the extra charge came from, and did not tell us that we were being charged extra. After several email exchanges, Sashi finally told us why we were being charged extra. Overall, Sarasota Catering was a decent wedding vendor, but if you decide to hire them, make sure they have all of YOUR bases covered for your wedding. read more

There were many different food choices depending on what you wanted to achieve and how much you want to spend. They arrived on time, which was important since it was a surprise party. The food was really good and they had everything we needed with them for quick set up. The two gentlemen they sent to tend bar and take care of the food were really professionals. You could tell they had done this many times and new exactly how to set up and make things look appetizing. They just seemed to keep the party moving. We loved using Sarasota Catering Company for our wedding! Sashi was our day-of-coordinator but she did so much more than just the day-of. She understood our vision for the decor and carried it out to perfection. She was responsive and accommodating. We were planning our wedding from afar (living in DC) but the distance didn't feel like an impediment. And the food was AMAZING! We had multiple guests compliment all the food throughout the evening and the next day. I'm vegan and the chefs at SCC worked with me to make the most delicious vegan meal that wasn't your standard pasta - one of my guests even asked me for the recipe (chickpea sheperd's pie). The servers were professional, prompt, and just a joy to work with. We also did all of our rentals (linens, chairs, dinnerware) through SCC which made it easier for coordination and one less thing to worry about as a bride.
