Listened to what I wanted and helped me find it, with no pressure to buy anything extra. Even steered me away from a more expensive outfit to a less expensive outfit based on my fabric and color preference. Good prices compared to other places I've looked. Fixed price, no bargaining. Telephoned across the street to the tailor, to have my outfits altered, walked me over and explained what I needed. (Tailor was fast, well priced, and did a good job.) My daughter was invited to an Indian wedding of a co-worker. Didn't know about this place and nothing was coming up local to me. We ordered a Lengha on-line. Knew we would have to do some stitching for the top. The skirt had minor adjustments. However, when the outfit arrived there was only a piece of fabric for the top and an overlay that had an outline. I can do basic sewing with instructions but NOTHING, just a small piece of fabric. No directions, no basic template, nothing! Tried to make a top and just said nope, not happening. Four days before the wedding, I went on-line and found this location. We drove over an hour to get there. We walked in, told the owner what we needed. We had the skirt. She said, "you bought that on-line". Told her "yes, we didn't know about her store and would she help us". She immediately went over and pulled 3 tops that were perfect. The hardest part was to choose. Picked what we wanted, reasonably priced. Loved her clothing. Had we not had a skirt already we would have purchased an outfit from her. Very reasonably priced. Told several people already that should they ever need an outfit for an Indian wedding not to waste their time but go here, won't be disappointed. So appreciative of the help and customer service. My daughter looked beautiful and received many compliments on her Lengha. In the future, we will go here should the need arise. Well worth the drive. If you are like me who buys a Saree every few years, this is the place you need to go. I don't wear sarees often. So I never know what I'm looking for. But when I walked into this store, they were able to understand what I like. They have a huge selection. They are super helpful. They are not pushy sales people. Special tip - If you are a lady of Sri Lankan origin, go to this place if you want to buy a Saree. They'll have the designs you'll like. DO NOT GO TO THE TAILOR ACROSS THE STREET!!! I had to edit this review after picking up my jacket from the tailor across the street from the store. I went there based on the suggestion from the sales lady at the store. I certainly hope that Saree Bazaar will find a better tailor in the future. If not, please don't even suggest your customers to go there. He promised to make my jacket within 10 days. I traveled more than 1 hour to pick it up and it wasn't done. I had to go a second day. Then, he didn't even make it for the design I wanted. When I asked why he made with a design that I didn't ask, he said what he made was the new fashion. The design would have been ideal for an 80 year old woman. The fitting is absolutely awful. The jacket could have easily fit me if I was another 50 pounds heavier. He charged me $67 for something I cannot ever wear. Now that the blouse is ruined, the Saree is pretty much ruined too. I received the worst service from saree bazaar! I ordered custom outfits that all came in different sizes and didn't fit at all. They were not even close to the measurements I gave them. When I told them about the problem they just kept denying it and sending generic responses. So now I have 3 salwar kameez outfits that I can not wear. I would not buy from here ever again! read more

I came to Saree Bazar after hours of searching for three similar/identical saris for bridesmaids in almost every clothing store store in Edison, NJ. I expected to be disappointed, but was pleasantly surprised by the collection, the general price range of the saris, and the fantastic customer service. Not only was I treated very well throughout the experience, but I was never pushed into buying something I didn't want - something I sincerely appreciate after visiting some of the other stores. This was the only store that seemed to understand the concept of a "bridesmaid sari," and I found everything I needed for my out-of-state wedding within a half hour.
