I purchased a Sargent seat on the used market to find out there were some fitment problems for my '19 MT-09. That led to me eventually damaging the latching mechanism and rendering the seat pan useless as I tried to work through the issues myself. Fearing I burned my money with my blunder, I reached out to Sargent as a last ditch effort to hopefully have the seat repaired. I got a reply from Bob, who said they could replace the pan and cover for about half the cost of retail, I just had to send the damaged seat in first. After a whopping $113 dollar shipping charge (WA to FL), plus the initial cost of the seat, and the cost to replace/repair, I was creeping up on the retail price, but I told myself as long as I didn't crest that threshold, I was going to be happy to not have a super expensive, totally useless hunk of plastic. I was absolutely floored today to find out that after receiving and inspecting my damaged seat, Bob wrote up my order as a full 100% warranty replacement and waived all my return shipping!! This to me is just outstanding; here is a company that stands behind their product, even if it was purchased on the used market! I have nothing but good things to say about my experience working with Bob. It's too bad that there are some pretty negative reviews for him, and the company itself - it would seem some of the things people are upset about (like shipping turn around times) are a bit outside of Bob's control. He's earned my future business, and I can't wait for my new seat to arrive! read more

Three strikes and your out! I sent my OEM seat into Sargent and they rebuilt it. The quality looked pretty good, but they did not install the mounting hardware on the seat. The seat had to be sent back. They made a second attempt and the hole and mounting hardware would not lineup with the mounting port. It was unbelievable that they could not center the hole and hardware in the seat. That is strike 2. Two attempts at my OEM seat and they couldn't get it right. On the third attempt, they were able to dig up one of their seat pans and sent me a new seat. It looked better than the other two but the fitment was incorrect -- wobbly, gaps at panels, etc... The first day out the right front part of the seat would not stay secured at my gas tank. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and I thought maybe I didn't install it correctly. I reinstalled the seat and It worked well for two days. However, today the right front portion of the seat popped out at the right side of my gas tank again. I wasted six weeks and $450 plus a lot of pain and suffering and back back-and-forth and photos and videos and dozens and dozens of emails. I'm 60 years old and I've had a lot of motorcycles over the years. I know a lot of folks. I'm in a lot of motorcycle clubs and I will make it a point to tell everybody I know not to buy one of your crappy seats. The only positive in this absolutely horrible experience was a customer service representative named Collin. He should be made the CEO of the company and fire everyone else. It's no longer worth my time, but I will do everything in my power to let everyone I know not to buy a Sargent Cycle POS seat! I might even take some videos of me burning the seats and posting it on social media. That is how disgusted I am with this experience. Fire the R&D team fire the people in manufacturing fire the designers they are all worthless! read more

I'm loving my saddle for my 2016 FZ09. It offers way better performance than the stock seat. And it looks amazing Bob Livingston was the person I spoke with and he was very knowledgeable about their products at Sargent. He was also very friendly and offered very good customer service. have an issue with my Sargent rear seat fouling and ripping the material on my 22 GSA BMW. I called explain the situation they're saying they will not warranty anything if you don't use oh Em BMW cases or brackets. i've dealt with Corbin. I've dealt with many other sheet dealers manufacturers, and that's never been the case. if you're gonna spend almost $800 on a sergeant seat, I wouldn't waste my time or money because they're warranty and backing of their products is a zero. they said they would repair it for $120 when their design is faulty. read more

Been waiting all summer for them to release their new seat for the new V Strom 1050. Once available I ordered one. They build it on your existing seat base so you ship them your original. EZ as they provide a fedex label once your order is placed. With shipping the seat was back in less than 3 weeks! Beautifully done workmanship. Way more comfortable than the stock pad and cover. Turn-around times for re-upholstery of their Sargent World Sport Seats were blazing fast toward the end of the California riding season. Sargent's staff were friendly, helpful and patient throughout the battery of questions that I had e-mailed prior to shipping my seat. I've owned 2 Sargent seats, but this is the first one that I've shipped back for custom upholstery services. But regardless of color and material, Sargent makes darn good seats straight out of the box. I ordered a seat from the website for my 07 BMW GSA. Stock seat is miserable after a couple hours. The seat arrived and was much harder than I expected but surprisingly comfortable. None of the "jewel crushing" of the stock seat. First trip out on some offroad, lots of standing, and found that my boot rubs right at the bottom of the seat on the rear brake pedal side. Another couple trips and that spot gave out. Sent pictures to a rep at Sargent with an explanation and received an RMA at no charge (just shipping). Next trip was 10 days in Baja and same thing happened. So we talked about options and I sent the seat back again to have that area reinforced. All very pleasant and helpful. I found customer service really good and the seat is awesome as far as comfort goes. read more

I agree with Chris S. The product maybe good, but not great enough to overwhelm the poor customer service. I called in 1 month in advance before placing my order for swatches of red piping for my 2015 BMW S1000R. They sent me swatches with handwritten numbers on the back. When placing order, the color I needed did not have option on their website. So I placed note for "same red as logo on bike." Any fool could Google search image to match color. After 3 weeks, I received seat with maroon/burgundy piping. Callled and wrote a letter to see if they would reimburse my $45 to return ship, but no response since I feel it is their fault making this mistake. Bob Livingston was the dude on the phone. Finally got the order after the correction, but red is too fire truck red, not like the logo. Going to just keep it, and not deal with their customer service. Seat is slightly wider than OEM, but much better at absorbing shock/bumps. I would never buy again due to experience with Bob. Will be looking at their competitors like the Corbin. read more

These guys have amazing seat products for motorcycles. They get it! These guys are riders as well. Have had several of their products on multiple BMWs i have owned and a Yamaha Super Tenere. Awesome comfort for some serious long touring. But it does not stop there. BOB LIVINGSTON, SALES/CUSTOMER SERVICE rep for Sargent was truly amazing. I was outside the " return window" for an exchange and he honored it, no questions asked. Fast forward a year or so and I had won a gift certificate at an MSTA rally (Motorcycle Sport Touring Assc.) that I inadvertently let expire. He was kind enough to honor that as well! This is my fourth 'Sargent', so I've been a raving fanatic in the past. This one, for a Ducati Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak was a disappointment. First, I ordered a 'Regular' height, received a 'Low', just prior to a long trip. I contacted them and they were willing to exchange it within the 30-day. Decided to keep it since I had used it (my mistake!) Subsequently it became obvious the wide 'bucket' design of the pilot's seat, and the lumbar restriction of the pillion (can't slide back that extra inch) were at odds with this bike and my riding style, It's a Ducati after all. Willing to pay another $325 I contacted the 'Custom Seat' division. E-mails not returned, calls not returned. Finally I sent the seats back, well marked, asking for shaving and reductions here and there, well aware of the limits imposed by the pan. The expectations of 'subtle' changes were made amply clear, but the call back I got from 'Sargent' made me feel as if I were talking with the Legal department, not another enthusiast who understood and offered help. I spent the visit on the phone listening to what "can't be done", instead of what "can be done". Complete lack of communication, and I got a general feeling that 'Bob' was not listening, not willing to help. Frustrated, since I'd had such great customer service in the past, I decided something fundamental had changed. I asked them to return the seat. ($40 in freight wasted.) I now own a Ducati 'Sargent' seat that "locks me in" (!) and I'm truly wishing I had returned the whole thing for a refund within the first 30 days, instead of trusting my past experience that they would take care of me. (Duh!) So, while the previous 3 seats deserved FIVE stars, this experience deserves a generous TWO. Bob, you've got to learn to LISTEN: Customer expectations can be quite reasonable, much CAN be done when they already understand the limits. And, dude, you've got to make it a habit of knowing who you're dealing with: Some of us spend freely on our sport and bring your business great word-of-mouth, if only you mellow out! read more

I cannot tell you how upset I am by these guys. I bought my seat, ordered it one month ago on the express promise from sales guy Bob that the seat would be in my hands in Oak park Mi, by the 5th of August. I just bought this bike, and am taking it on a long trip to Maine and beyond. The seat for this trip was essential because the current OEM seat causes me great pain. So, I bought this seat on the promise that i would have it on time. Well, I called and spoke with Bob on several occasions, and each time he assured me that the seat would be delivered to me on time for my trip. Well, I called again today Monday August 3rd, and guess what? Nope they have not shipped it yet. Its done and all but I guess it was just laying around all weekend collecting dust. Of course I asked if they would expedite the shipment since they promised me it would be here by the 5th, and they said NO. Too expensive. Well way to take care of your customers. Way to lie about the progress of the ordered product, and way to lie about shipping it to me on time. All I got was excuses. Sure they might be nice seats but the customer service is HORRIBLE. Stay Away. Reading some of the other reviews. Seems "Bob" is part of the problem. read more

i found the customer service to be top notch. i spoke to a gentleman named Bob. he was very brutally honest when i asked how long my order would take. when i heard two to three weeks i was shocked. when i asked if i could speed it up he stated that everything is fulfilled in the order received when possible,and it wouldnt be fair to the next guy to put me ahead of them. realizing that it is the height of the riding season, i guess it wouldnt be fair.it was just poor trip planning on my part. i do like i guy who is honest. it is a lost trait. well when i received an email from their shipping person i was amazed to see Bob have given me free shipping and ten percent off my order. the seat is spectacular on my new bmw rt.i have seen reviews below that dont make sense maybe they have more than one bob there. guess you cant please everyone. thank you bob and thank you sargent. read more
