Oh, Yelp Sydney, an uncharted antipode of newness where like a pioneer I get to lay my stake by reviewing restaurants for the first time and adding their first photo. In San Francisco someone has Yelped a new restaurant as soon as the place is approved for a business loan.
In this case, not only do I get to go first, but in a nod to some sort of manifest destiny I get to review my namesake (albeit spelled a bit differently...which kind of goes along with the parallel universe sensation of an American girl being on the other side of the world).
Sarina's is a very simple, affordable and delicious cafe. Clean tables, comfy bench seating, lots of loose newspapers of both serious and tabloid ilks strewn about (perfect for a lazy Sunday breakfast). The prices are VERY good. Most items on the lunch menu are $6 for just the sandwich, and $8 with chips. My uncle who lives in Australia was quite impressed by how reasonably priced everything was. We both had coffees and split an omelette and a fish sandwich for less than $30.
The food was straightforward and good. Brought out swiftly with little fuss. Given that it is an 8 minute walk from my place, I may make Sarina's Serena's new Sunday ritual. read more
