I left a holding deposit on an audi tts on the understanding it was to view the vehicle. I was told by the salesman that I was under no obligation to buy the vehicle unless I was 100% happy. Unfortunately due to personal circumstances I was not in a financial position to buy the car , so the next day I contacted them to tell them this. I was told the salesman was off that day and I would have to call back the next day , which I did only to be told my deposit was now non refundable. I could've gone there test drove the car waisted their time and made an excuse not to take the car , but as an honest consumer I thought honesty was the best policy . I thought I was dealing with a professional company How wrong was I?? They are a bunch of liars and crooks. Avoid this company at all costs if you want to be treated how you would expect when spending £20k + on a car. I have given them plenty of oppourtunities to contact me but they have chosen to ignore me. The salesman offered me a credit note if I write them a letter explaining my situation ( as if I would actually purchase a vehicle from these cowboys now!). I'm in the process of filling a county court claim against them for my deposit and all associated costs. I can only say that anyone who claims to be happy after dealing with this company obviously has no idea what real customer service is. I wouldn't trust this lot if my life depended on it!!!!! Very efficient, friendly service. After finding the car we were looking for on the website I phoned through to the garage and spoke to Ross Vanbergen who was very helpful and suggested I booked an appointment to see him that Friday and have a look at the car. We arrived around 20 minutes late due to traffic but Ross was more than happy to accommodate us. He sat us down with a cup of tea and started to talk about the car. He mentioned his parents had the same car and he used to drive one and therefore had a great deal of information about the model. We were able to have a look around the car at our own leisure and without any pressure. The car had a few marks and needed a bit of work in places, Ross was happy to listen as we showed him this and explained to us this could all be fixed before we collected the car. We were able to negotiate an excellent deal and took the car for a test drive. With assurances from Ross the car would be sorted for us picking it up a week later we left it with him. The following Saturday we arrived and Ross again was very friendly and helpful. An inspection of the car confirmed all the work had been carried out to a good standard and we processed all the payment and paperwork very quickly and efficiently. I would happily look to purchase another car from Ross and the team at Sascron again in the future and I would recommend the garage to anyone looking to purchase a car! read more

For the past 3 or 4 years I have been driving around in a Vauxhall Corsa (http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_categoryId_165688_productId_842179_langId_-1) , it served me well but it was time for a change. I had visited a few garages / show rooms in search of an Audi a3 (http://www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=128246) (the car I wanted) but had no success. Last Monday a friend who I work with recommended I should go and visit Sascron in Basingstoke. Went down there on Friday after work and was greeted at the door by Iain Clark, one of the sales reps. He got me a glass of water and sat me at his desk. I am not a man who knows much about cars but the knowledge Iain and the rest of the staff had at the showroom was outstanding. Just picked up my Audi, and whilst the car seems fine and as many have said already, they aren't pushy which is a plus, I was not overly happy with the service. They were reluctant to offer any discount off of the price, in the end discounting a £7000 car by a measly £30. They claim to part-exchange anything, however they offered a very low price for my vehicle, which I was happy to accept for convenience, but on the day of collection they went into what I can only describe as typical used car salesman mode and tried to knock a substantial amount off of the already low price which I found very unsatisfactory. Only when I gathered all my items together ready to leave did we reach a compromise, but I felt that I had been somewhat ripped off it was not a good feeling. They did not even put a fiver worth of fuel in the tank, it was less than empty! I noticed the mileage information entered on the finance paperwork was also incorrect by quite a margin, so I will be discussing this with the company to see what their view is on the matter as they have an interest in the transaction. I wish I could write a more positive review, but, based on my experience I cannot recommend Sascron and suggest you go elsewhere. read more

Travelled 50 miles to look at a Jaguar they had advertised and had a good look around but was told they wanted to know I was serious about it before I could have a test drive. I intended to buy the car that day if it was good. I told them I was serious and would put a deposit down first if they wanted but would like a discount of a couple hundred pounds as I did not have a part-ex (£8000 car). I was told there was no discount for no part ex and the price in the window is what I would pay. When looking through the documents I then discovered the full history was only for the first three years and then stopped all together. I would rather have a car with a full history so decided against the vehicle and would hate to deal with them if anything was to go wrong with the vehicle if I was to buy it. As I left carl told me should not go shopping for cars I could not afford. Two days later I bought a Jaguar from a main dealer with less mileage and full history in much nicer condition and was offered a nice big discount for having no part ex for the same price as Sascron wanted. I know not many 25 year olds buy expensive Jags but the main dealer bent over backwards for me and I could not be happier with the car. read more

Keenly priced cars, but you get what you pay for in terms of technical support and customer service. I had pointed out an undercarriage oil leak prior to picking up the Z4 and had asked them fix it. They claimed they had done so when I went for the pickup. Within a week I found that they had done nothing of the sort the leak was still there. I went back in (a 100 mile round-trip) and they said that they found some lose bolts in the oil sump, which they tightened and said I should be fine. It was still leaking oil. Finally, exasperated, I tried a local BMW specialist, who diagnosed a rear main seal leak. Cost me a pretty penny to rectify (I had taken out an AA protection, so that was some relief). This right after apparently an Inspection II and service was performed by Sascron on the car prior to me picking it up (their stamp and date on the service book). Given that they couldn't pick up something as major as a rear main seal leak during an Inspection II, I wonder what kind of inspection/service they really perfomed, or whether they just reset the service indicator. Avoid! At least I will be in the future! read more

Nice cars. Poor customer service. Sascron deal in high end cars and part-exchange cars. I'm sure the service you get with a £20k+ purchase is great, but if you're buying one of their part-exchange cars then be careful. The car I had my eye on was a little over-priced at £8k with some cosmetic damage, but after negotiating a decent reduction and a verbal agreement that the damage would be repaired, I handed over a desposit. James appeared to make arrangements for the car to be repaired, and we set a collection date for the following week. When I arrived to collect the car the damage had not been repaired and James had no recollection of the agreement, even when I explained that Sascron had kept the car for a week to repair it. It only cost me £60 to get the damage repaired, so I didn't do as badly as some of the other reviewers have experienced, but I couldn't be more disappointed with their service. The moral of this story is don't trust them and get anything you agree in writing. If you're not prepared to take the risk then go somewhere that cares about its customers and its reputation. read more

Bought a Range Rover Sport from Sascron last week, and traded-in my Audi A5. It was the first time I'd dealt with Sascrob and I must say, they exceeded my expectations for a process that I was slightly dreading - all that hassle of negotiating a fair exchange price, and going through all the paperwork and handover changes. But to my very pleasant surprise everything was handled very calmly and helpfully and when the inevitable issues arose - agreeing a price to change, tax disk and insurance changeovers, forgetting to bring my log-book to exchange (!), and a light coming on for the passenger air bag - a solution was found for me by Ron and Carl each time. I now have a great new Range Rover for the family, and feel reassured that everything has been looked at on the car, and the Sascron guys have helped make it as smooth as poss, at a good price because it not over fancy and you're not paying for unneccesary fancy dealership frills. Just bought a two and a bit year old Citroen C3 Airdream from these guys. Part-ex'd my Merc CLK Cab. Overall, a good experience with this dealer. Somewhere between an independent dealer and a car supermarket with around 160 cars in stock majority of them outside. Everybody was very friendly and I got the impression they were genuine guys the boss Carl got involved with the part-ex price but we didn't waste a lot of time life's too short. Obviously, they have to be on the look out for scams and nearly dead cars being traded in and as such drive a pretty hard bargain but Gary Stubbs seemed honest and business-like and I could not fault the transaction. He was a bit late at handover but he was dealing with a bit of a crisis involving a lday and a Porsche which I will forgive him for! The car itself was valeted to a very high level and so far no suprises even nearly half full of diesel. Fingers crossed it remains that way. Shall return next time round if we are still living in Hampshire. read more

Prices are good but service is verging on non-existent. I have bought quite a few cars over the years but I have never come across a dealer this poor when it comes to customer service. Travelling down from London I was not offered a lift from the station. When I arrived at the dealership it was made clear that I could not drive the car unless I agreed to buy it. When I commented on that I was told that because they had expensive cars people might just come in to experience driving them. It was a three hour round trip to view a 5 year old Lexus hardly an Aston Martin! At the end they arranged for a taxi to come to take me back to the Station at my expense and with a 40 minute wait. No coffee or tea offered and I watched 4 salesmen chatting whilst not one single customer came into the showroom. If the service had been better I would have bought the car there and then. As it is I would never buy a car from Sascron or recommend them to anyone else. read more

Great selection of cars at this garage, all grouped together by marque & model. We went to have a second look at a car and were told we could not test drive it unless we agreed to buy the car first. Next we pointed out various paintwork issues to try and bring the price down a little or get it repaired. This included cracked paint on the front bumper and areas where there was no paint left at all. The salesman offered to get the car mopped. I don't know about you but I've never heard of this analogy unless they are referring to the brush at the local petrol station, which if anything causes more scratches. I think he meant machine polish, but you cant polish areas of plastic with no paint on. Lack of basic car care knowledge, unwillingness to move on price, or let us test drive the car drove us elsewhere. Happily we found a much better car at a better price a few weeks later at another dealer. read more

After making a few arrangements to specifically leave work earlier and making the trip down from london i was expecting someone to at least acknowledge and greet me (no one was busy looking after any other people). No one greeted me upon arrival and I was left walking around for a few minutes, a salesman walked past me and looked at me without even acknowledging me till after a few minutes just to question if I had an appointment. I looked at the car with the said salesman and also spoke to the manager and politely told him about another car I looked at which had more features (liguatronic and bluetooth) so that I could negotiate a deal from the £15,490 but was told no negotiation on price would be made and was told rudely that this car was not for me!. What fantastic customer service. I'm glad to say I spent my money elsewhere! read more

Saw an E500 estate on the AutoTrader which I really liked the look of and phoned up. This is the first time I have done a part exchange deal long distance and I was worried that the car may not be as nice as they said it would be or that they would try and reduce the agreed deal on the part exchange. These dealers seem to specialise in high end ex-fleet cars (they have some lovely metal in the showroom) and turn them out to a high standard and the Mercedes was everything I expected it to be. I was honest about the condition of my part exchange pointing out the minor bits and pieces and after some negotiation a deal was agreed in principle on the phone. Jason made it nice and easy to do business, helping with the tax and warranty and I would certainly recommend them. read more

I have to say that I can only speak how I find, I come across Sascron some 3 years ago when I was looking for a second hand Jaguar car. They were very competitively price and the car had loads of extras, even though it was a 200 round trip I really felt the service and non pushy way they conducted themselves really made the trip worth while. I have just been back to a shinny new showroom with many more car to choose from. Sascron in my view have done what many others have failed to achieve when expanding their business they have managed to kept to their principles of low priced quality cars and not the hard sell add ons to make back margin. I have just bought VW Golf from these guys,it was priced very well and i found them very straight forward to deal with. I was recommended to buy from them by a friend who has had 2 cars from them! I have read some of the reviews since buying and felt them to be an unfair representation of the service that they provided me! My car was priced well, was in a decent condition with all the relevant paperwork in tact. The only snag was i was asked to commit to a deal in principle before i was allowed a test drive. I'm sure many people buy a car here and dont have too many issues but I would avoid at all costs. Never met anyone so rude and arrogant (the boss) and not somebody you can trust. The prices are decent enough but if your paying 20K plus on a car go and spend the extra 1K somewhere else and get something resembling customer service, courtesy and a level of trust from a proper dealership. - do what I did a while ago and walk away. Or agree a deal, get 40- 50% of the value of your car on trade in thats before you can even test drive the car then hope everything is ok as I received no feeling of customer service or confidence in the people there. Rang 3 times & spoke to 3 different salesman in 1 day prior to making the 70mile journey to buy the car. All 3 salesman advised me to pay £350 deposit to ensure the car doesn't sell during the 90min drive down. Decided to take the risk and not pay the deposit. All 3 salesmen said that I could come and drive the car. When I got there, the car wasn't there and hadn't been there all day as it was in the prep centre for bodywork damage, despite the ad saying the bodywork was immaculate. 90 mins back home I go. Utter incompetence. They claimed they had tried to call me despite me giving all 3 salesmen my number. No wonder their Internet reviews are so poor. read more

Appauling service,if you can steer clear of this car dealer then i would strongly advise that you do! As others have mentioned above don't be fooled by thinking that because they have a few higher end cars in the showroom they are a reputable dealer, as they are anything but. I can assure you that the only part of my buying process that they made sure went smoothly was handing over the cash. So far i'am into the fifth week of a dispute due to them selling a car with a huge list of defects, the car was returned to them and has now been with them for the past 4 weeks in which they failed to rectify the problems blaming the parts supplier. read more
