The staff member & I no longer work together, but I've now been making the drive from North Brisbane to Wellington Point for two years. I get friendly, consistent cuts and colours for half what I would've been paying in the city and and I don't leave disappointed. There are 3 stylists for women's hair (I see Sarah, but Kandi and Jess are always on hand to help) and Annette (the owner) is a barber, who also takes the children's cuts. I only ever go in on a Saturday and they seem to be well equipped to handle walk-ins for cuts easily. The fit-out is basic, if not a bit old-school. So, if you're looking for a glamour salon, you won't find it here. But, they offer all the services you would expect anywhere else a bit more glamourous. I get my blonde ambition perfectly touched up with a bit of trim to the layers every six weeks and it costs me about $140 for 3 hours of time. Bargain! Well worth the drive!

If my usual hairdresser is not available, I have no hesitation with booking my appointment with another hairdresser there. A very resonably priced salon as well (how many places can say that in Brisbane!). Another thing I love about Tonsure is that they never over or double-book - I have the same hairdresser from start to finish and the well-trained apprentices to wash hair and observe the techniques without being in the way. The ladies who work here are very kind, helpful and understanding of their clients needs. When you are in this salon you forget you are in the hospital... Which can sometimes be a relief. I've been here a few times to be their for a friend of mine. We would come here for some time out together. We've had some great conversations with the staff in here. Therefore, I booked an appointment over Messenger - her Facebook page and Messenger are the best way to initially contact her - and was all in. Her home salon is a small, private oasis that is impeccably clean and stylish with salon chairs, sinks and two work stations. We immediately hit it off and I love the privacy and intimacy of working with a professional stylist away from the intrusion of others in a busy salon.
