So basically, I'm an irrational and potentially infuriating customer. Here's how Tino's handles me with grace: 1. They're careful listeners. 2. They're perfectionists who take their time. I always get the same guy. We don't talk much, so unfortunately I don't know his name. But it's a close knit crew and they're all good. Located in the Adelaide Arcade off of Rundle Mall. Customer service is king here at Tino's! Your hair will look how you want it to look or you can put your trust in their hands & let them give you the make over of a lifetime, I have & I haven't looked back. After 30 years of hair cuts and 15 years of colours I can honestly say that Irina is THE BEST hairdresser I have ever had. I constantly get compliments on my hair cut & colour and have even been stopped in shops by strangers, to find out who does my hair. If you come in, you might be lucky enough to hear a couple of bad jokes and have a lovely cup a coffee while you relax and enjoy being pampered. What more can you ask for?

However, the resident hairdresser at Kudos, David, is definitely a good choice. He used to work at SAX along Unley Rd until he recently opened up his own place. The interior of Kudos is very appealing. It is black and white, with minimal decorations and a red couch. Oh and the chairs. When you are having your hair washed you get to sit in chairs that give the rest of your body a massage. I didn't think there was anything better than a head massage at the hairdressers, but this is it. David always gives a good haircut. He is also amazing at dying. Once I decided my pink hair needed to be blonde. I proceeded to sit at the hairdressers for three hours until I had an amazing white blonde colour! Another lady works out of the hairdresser, doing manicures, spray tans and waxing. This means you don't even need to leave the shop to have the works!

Problem: my hair is in a condition which can only be described as, well, barely a degree better than feral. Regrowth to the max, brassy 5-month-old blonde highlights, an in-between tint faded to a mud-colour and a chunky, out-grown cut. I frantically phone around in the vain hope that some stylist worth their salt would have a Saturday afternoon appointment available. One last call to a salon I'd not heard of...Sueño on Magill Road...blesses me with a rare 3pm appointment, and with an angel of a stylist named April, the kindest, sweetest, most ridiculously talented stylist I've encountered in a very long time. Walking into the Moorish-Moroccan interior, I feel like I've stepped into a lavish Bedouin tent, and there's a hive of activity as male and female stylists do their thing, but I'm still greeted by each with a big smile and a hello; this is a welcome change to the oft-experienced "blank stare" one can meet with upon walking into any given salon. Friendly Lia shows me to my chair and April introduces herself, totally calming my vibe with a chat about my hair and a drink order. Having been separated from my previous long-term salon when my usual stylist disappeared, and given the late hour, I was nervous and stressed; but this is fast dissipating in the mix of kindness, chilled vibes, professionalism and tea served in the Moroccan style. I can see I've been squeezed in, but I've not been made to feel like a hassle; precisely the opposite. April brings me a PRINTED QUOTE prior to starting (seriously, people, this is awesome...no fainting at the cash register when it's all done) and then with my approval, begins her magic. In two hours I'm transformed from sweaty mess with bad hair to glamazon. My colour (foils and tint) is nothing short of jaw-dropping. I walk out smiling, money well-spent (but not a ridiculous amount...Sueño really is a reasonably priced salon!) I flick my hair around as I walk to my car and just know that I've found my new beauty-haven. I'm feeling so keen on myself that I choose the sexiest dress in my wardrobe and rock the soirée that night with confidence I didn't have at lunchtime. Win. Sueño....thank you!

Seriously, if a stylist can handle my hair, they can be seriously deem as a hair wizard. And I am going to say, Alexander, owner of Zander Hair is definitely a hair wizard. I was trilled that my first visit to Alex proved so fruitful. I let him had free reign on my hair and it turned out so well! Friends told me the style flatters me totally! (Never had friends told me that about my hair!) What a great find! I love it when I find a stylist who can truly work on my hair! Not only that, the price is reasonable and the place is just so inviting. Alex has a great personality and is a wonderful conversationist to top his skills.

Well, its certainly is not a wash with a keratin shampoo, which they did, Even they as a hair salon don't know what keratin is. I do not even wish to give them 1 star rating if I had the option to. When I arrived, my stylist Michelle took my personal details in my very own hair profile card and later, took me through the process of my hair colour treatment. With colour in my hair, a good fashion magazine to feed my fashion hunger pang, a glass of water and chocs (compliments of the salon) and 30 minutes later, I was whisked into another room to wash the colour off. I was greeted with candles, dim lights, soothing music and a TV screen featuring a slide show of beaches and the sea. The ambience was delightfully good and it reminded me of a spa room in Asia. Let me tell you about the chair next to the basin. This is not your regular salon chair, this one reclines like a dentist chair and it massages too....oh, imagine those gentle strokes to your back after a full day of shopping. Whilst my stylist washed and massaged my hair, I drifted away..almost asleep to some exotic Asian beach, lazing on a hammock and sipping coconut shells amidst a backdrop of a sunset. Ok, dream over but it was a wonderful experience and needless to say, I stepped out feeling good and energized. This is definitely a salon that carries excellent customer service and goes out of its way in ensuring the customers has an enjoyable hair experience.
