I am from Asian and very familiar with Asian foods. Bought a deal from Groupon for 2. It is the worst deal I bought. The deal claimed it valued a over $76. This is based on fully price and size from the menu. Guess what apart from the 2 glass of wine and rice, some dishes are not even half of the normal serving size. Only 2 spring rolls, full size was 4. The fish dish was on 6 small pieces. It was basa fish, one of cheapest fish fillet you could get. If you just buy the fillet from China Town, it wouldn't cost you more than $1 for the amount we served. To be honest, for size of the dishes I wouldn't pay more than $35 for it. There were several tables used the deal at that night, all dishes looked very small. The table next to us said "very small serving" straight away. My husband and I usually have small meals and I wasn't hungry at the night, it was barely enough for us.
The foods were not authentic at all. I am very familiar with Chinese, Malaysian and Thai foods. From my point of view, it was very very average and not authentic at all. The Kung pao chicken was very very sweet. The dish is a Chinese dish. It should have a lot of ingredient such as chicken, peanuts etc...... all diced up. The one we were served was completely out of line. Doesn't have basis ingredient. I will call chicken with dark soy sauce. The fish was very water and favour was not good and sauce was very thin. They also offered alternative a mogolian beef dish instead of Kung Po Chicken. I have ever found mogolian beef or lamb dish in menu when I ate in China. It was a dish invented by overseas Chinese restaurant owners for westerners. My husband is Aussie, he laughed very time he saw this dish on a menu as he has learnt that through dining in China.
I had a look their menu, the pictures of their dishes were very good. Particularly some of Malaysian dishes. Not sure about the favour.
To be honest, if business owners want to promote their products, they need to be honest with their customers, not to do doggie things. read more
