My husband was on Worker's Comp., after six weeks of being hospitalized with Covid and had no…read morechoice in who he saw. He was told Dr. Ailani was the only physician who accepted Worker's Comp in the Central Florida / Orlando area. We had to wait four weeks after he was discharged to even get in to see the Dr., because he said he needed "time to review his records and decide if he would take my husband as a patient." We had an appointment scheduled for 2 weeks and we're notified two days prior to the appointment that my husband had to go and get a Covid test and prove he didn't have Covid to be admitted to the office, despite the fact he had been discharged over a month from the hospital and was recovering on oxygen at home. We did the a Covid test and went to the appointment. Upon entering the office we went to have a pulmonary function exam and then we're put into an exam room. A nurse practitioner did a brief history but did not know any specific medical history from the hospital stay. You would think they would have that information, especially since we were told we had to wait four weeks for them to receive and review and decide if they would even take him on as a patient...we were still hopeful the Doctor would have reviewed the information. When the Dr.came in he didn't ask specifics and gave a quick statement "I'll have you back to work and off oxygen in a month," which shocked us both, since six hospital physicians told us my husband had severe, long term lung damage to both lungs and would have a very long recovery. We were even more surprised when the Dr. Began questioning us about our vaccine status then launched into a rant...and I mean a RANT, lecturing us, pointing his fingers at us and shaming us, making an assumption we were unvaccinated. He aggressively asked me, "What do you do for a living," to which I replied, "I'm a teacher," and he yelled, "you should know better than to not get a vaccine!" I, then replied, "you should know better than to make assumptions, because I AM FULLY VACCINATED!" He then was angry that he was wrong and began questioning me about how many doses I had, whether or not I had been boosted and proceeded to go off on how "police and fireman are the worst!" We were mortified that a Dr. Would act in such a manner. He then started to walk out of the room and I asked what he thought of my husbands lungs and scans and he said he "didn't need to look at the lungs, he looked at the patient." This was alarming and left us with real concerns that he did not review the fill medical history, after we waited so long to be seen. I offered to show him the scans I had saved to my phone and he refused to look. We left very disappointed and feeling like we did not have a Dr. that was truly concerned about my husband's care and healing. A month later my husband had to go back on his own and this visit was even worse. Dr. Ailani proceeded to yell at him, ranting again about vaccines, then telling my husband who is an Occupational Therapist that he should have to "tear up his license to treat patients!!" He then said, "get him out of here, I'm not treating him anymore." He stormed out of the room then stormed back in and said, "I'm the Dr., and when you are in my office you do what I say!!!" All this over a personal choice to vaccinate or not. We do not recommend this Dr. In fact, my father was a physician and I have never seen anyone act more unprofessional and lack care or concern for the patient as Dr. Ailani did with my husband. I wonder if he's making money off pushing vaccines in his office? We transferred to a new Dr. and drive from Orlando to Tampa...I would drive to Timbuktu not to have to be mistreated and talked to so rudely as my husband and I were by someone like Dr. Ailani again. This is your health! You should trust the Dr. truly cares about you. We do not recommend him at all! Read his Google reviews. Someone else also had the same experience and rated him. You will be vaccine shamed and bullied if you see him, even if you have been fully vaccinated, as I was.
