There is no park meter, instead a park ranger (college kid) was collecting the fees. We found out that if there is day light savings and if you come after 7pm, you can park for free. The water fall is a quick walk down from the parking on a short board walk. You don't have to put too much effort to see the falls, not a hike at all. If you want you could go on the 2.9km loop around the dam structure. The falls view was great and the woods, the trees were awesome to look at. If you are not hiking, the maximum time you would spend here is less than 1hr. Combine your trip with the other falls nearby, Eugenia Falls, Indian Falls and you can also catch some good restaurants in Owen Sound.

made a detour to come and see the falls. an hour detour…read more.. worth it, absolutely worth it, although I would call it short and sweet. when I came here, I was in a bit of a time crunch, kinda got lost, and running out of daylight is a bad combination. however, the area is absolutely beautiful as I visited the park during the fall months and was taken away by all of the colors of the forestry, and the volume of water at the falls. parking is free and a lot of it, and there is no bus that comes here, or makes a visit. I will be back, because I want to take a day and explore some of the trails that are available to explore, not entirely sure if you can walk down to the bottom of the falls, but some people were climbing over the walls to actually rock climb down...not interested personally. can't wait...

It also depends on what you think a national park should be. As far as my opinion, it should be viewing beautiful sights and seeing animals. Serenity. This is not that. At all. If you think a national park should be a splash down water park, you're gonna love it. But you've got people walking the trails yelling at each other. You have people playing music loudly on the trails, as if they need their own personal theme song guiding them on their way. I even saw a Québécois stranger holding a dog in one hand, little child in another, walking in sandals at the Grotto on slick rock formations, jumping from one to the next. It was a disaster waiting to happen. It truly was an unpleasant experience. Look, the park tries to manage it. You have to reserve spots at both the Grotto and Halfway Log Dump. You have to pay a substantial fee to reserve as well. There are checkpoints going in like you're at Panmunjom on the Korean border. But it doesn't matter. There are still too many people. I think it is just too close to Toronto. My recommendation to anyone wanting a more peaceful national park experience would be to go to northern Ontario and visit Pukaskwa. Or even Lake Superior Provincial Park. They are both what I would want out of a park. I hate saying this, but I'd avoid the peninsula altogether.

In the winter, people of all ages love to toboggan down the hill. For those looking for fun in the great outdoors, look no further than McLennan Park!

The park is really nice and green. There's lots of do here, and great for picnics, kids etc. There's lots of grassy areas and picnic tables to set up your lunch, also you can find a spot right by the riverside. The park seems really dog friendly as well, and not sure if it was allowed, but saw lots of dogs run off the dock and jump into the water. For kids, there's also a carousel on the weekends and a small train that goes around a designated spot in the park. Parking is free. There's also the really nice Floral Clock (no flowers on it this time) and Gardens, which could be really nice for photos. It was so relaxing here and lots of explore and lots going on!

I stayed overnight in Oakville after a rather long travel day. I was exhausted, especially when my flight was delayed and everyone on it ended up sitting at the gate at Toronto Pearson for an extra thirty minutes. Anyway, I was fortunate to get a late checkout at the hotel. I grabbed a bite to each and drove over to Coronation Park. You can't miss it if you're driving on Lakeshore Road. It's a large, beautiful park. I was hungry (I slept in until 11 am, so this meal was breakfast). I didn't manage taking any photos of this park. I'll need to the next time I'm in the area. It has a parking lot. I'd guess that it has at least 200 parking spaces. I had no problem finding a spot at nearly 1 pm on a Tuesday. However, if there's a festival or some event happening at this park, I can see parking being a problem. It's a lovely park, whether you are walking through it to soak in the views and Lake Ontario, or you're bringing the kids and family for an outing. It has a waterfront path where you can walk, bike, run, or skate. I liked seeing a large gazebo. It had picnic benches under it where you can enjoy food and drinks with family and friends. For kids, there's a splash pad in the summertime. It also has playgrounds for kids to run around and play I saw volleyball courts. If you're into volleyball, this park is definitely for you. There are public washrooms. I did see a snack bar, but I couldn't tell if it was open for business when I was here. I was too focused eating! It was a pleasant surprise to find this park. I'd return again when I'm not hungry, to focus on its beauty more. (293)

As tradition holds with my reviews of parks, I'm gonna let off some steam. I'm tired. Ever since me reviewing rotisserie chickens in outdoor spaces went semi-viral, I've been giving this everything I got. My entire soul. I've sat at my corporate 9-5 job for years dreaming about something like this to happen, so when it finally did, I was ready. I pounced. I said to myself "yeah you're exhausted, but this is the time. It's quite literally now or never." I've given it everything, so at least at the end of the day I can look myself in the mirror and say I tried. I tried my best. Working a 9-5 job in tech sales while doing the writing, editing, eating, filming, traveling, etc. for this has taken every ounce of my being. It's starting to get to me. I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining at all, I'm actually extremely grateful, but I just want to stay raw and honest. The reality is there are highs and lows with everything, and I'm just trying to learn how to navigate them. Seeing that Sports Science guy end it all the other day made me so sad. Like damn that guy brought so much joy to my childhood. Even he was going through it!?!? He looked so happy all the time. I just think it's important to get this stuff out of my head and onto metaphorical paper. Maybe this one should have just stayed in my journal, but whatever. I think it will be cool to come back in 10 years and read this and either laugh at myself for being a dork, or be like "damn I was spitting." That's why I love writing so much. I like to pack a cooler and spend the day relaxing on the beach. It's only an hour from my house, BONUS!!!
