Peaceful Motorcycle-Friendly Getaway!…read more Booking through the Hipcamp app was super easy--I picked the exact campsite I wanted without any hassle. I was traveling by motorcycle and ended up arriving late at night, so I messaged the hosts ahead of time. They quickly let me know that late arrivals were no problem and that check-in was completely self-serve, which made things simple. Finding my spot was easy once I arrived. I stayed at Campsite #4, conveniently close to the parking area, which made unloading and reloading my bike a breeze. The little shack at the site was awesome! It even had a tarp you can unroll and secure over the doorway for a bit of privacy when you turn in for the night. The latrine was located near the check-in area, and the whole property had a calm, quiet vibe. There were other campers around, but it honestly felt like I had the place to myself. It's nothing like those packed chain campgrounds with big RVs and noisy crowds--this spot was peaceful, rustic, and relaxing. You can't beat the pride note, excellent value! I'll definitely be coming back for another stay on my next ride through the area!

Not many of the green variety but lots of orange and white ones. Prices seemed a little high ($8-9 for an average-sized one, $10-$14 for the large ones, $6-7 for smaller ones). They also had a nice selection of gourds ($1 each), and other decorative or pie pumpkins ($4). Not bad individually, but if you're looking to buy enough for a family or front yard display, it can add up quickly. We picked out 4 and paid $28. In addition to pumpkins, they had a variety of fall activities including a small corn maze, hay rides, and scavenger hunt ($4/ticket for each, I think). We don't have kids so I can't speak to it from that perspective. We went on a gray, drizzly Sunday afternoon so it wasn't very crowded. Appreciated that they require masks throughout the property, though out on the scavenger hunt trails people weren't always abiding.

So khool wife loved it, you have to wear a hat to let the spirits know you are friendly, and the hats are real festive, they even had coffee and cider, free, 20$ a pop for house tour but it was worth it.

Over the years, she visited this establishment multiple times through school-organized field trips. Her earlier experiences seemed educational and age-appropriate, but her final visit in 8th grade was traumatizing and completely unacceptable. On her first visit, she was a young child, excited to explore history. She remembers playing with wooden toys and engaging in fun, interactive activities. It was a harmless and enjoyable experience. On her second visit in 4th grade, the experience was still fairly lighthearted--she milked cows, churned butter, and watched glassblowers at work. It seemed like a continued effort to connect children with the past in a safe and engaging way. But her third visit in 8th grade took a shocking and horrifying turn. During this "A Fugitive's Path: Escape on the Underground Railroad" experience, my sister and her classmates were: Placed in shackles and treated like slaves Forced to simulate escaping through the Underground Railroad Exposed to the sound of blank bullets being shot into the air Surrounded by the cracking of whips Yelled at and intimidated by adults playing the roles of slave catchers or owners This wasn't education--it was trauma packaged as a learning experience. As her older sibling, hearing her describe the fear, humiliation, and confusion she felt during this simulation was gut-wrenching. I cannot understand how any school district, let alone an educational institution trusted with children's development, would approve of such a psychologically scarring experience. How could you slowly build a relationship with this place over several years, only to subject children--still minors--to a reenactment of slavery that includes the sounds of gunfire and whips? What kind of message does that send? What makes anyone believe that this is appropriate or effective? Let me be very clear: no child should ever have to go through this. Teaching about the horrors of slavery is important--but traumatizing children in the process is not education. It's irresponsible and deeply damaging. To the school district and the organizers of this program: What made you think this was okay? You crossed a line that should never be crossed. You failed these students. As a sibling, I'm heartbroken. And as a community member, I'm calling for serious accountability and immediate re-evaluation of what is considered "educational." This should never happen again--to any child, in any school, anywhere. This event took place in 2013-2014 school year however her trauma is still valid in 2025!!!!!!!!

I saw advertisements for Artist at Heart Paint Party online and quickly dismissed them! I am NO…read moreartist. Why would I even try something like that?? Boy was I wrong!! I was thumbing through a magazine and saw a painting hanging in a fancy house and I fell in love!! Way out of my budget probably. So I thought to myself, how hard can that be to make myself? It's an abstract, maybe I can figure it out. Still I was frozen in self doubt! Then I remembered that advertisement I saw online and contacted the artist offering the classes. Denyse was kind, helpful and insightful. She gave me suggestions, directed me to videos of her classes that would help me and even followed up!! So much encouragement, I feel like I can do it. I can go back and rewatch the videos and send questions via email if I need to. Her online classes are interactive, too! All this from the comfort of home! Thanks so much Denyse for helping me find my inner artist!

It's a fun music venue, especially on a nice day. I doubt I'd ever really opt for lawn seats, especially if it was an artist I really wanted to see. The open air pavilion is nice and although it is pretty big, it felt like an intimate concert.
