I checked out many places around the area before this one and it was an easy decision to join up. I've been going for just over two months and dropped 20 LBS just going twice a week. BJJ is really a small tight knit community and I like how everyone seems to know each other here and is inviting towards new faces. Chris is an awesome owner and equally awesome instructor. It's my opinion that he's going to grow out of this space soon and for all good reasons. Go check it out; I ended up signing up before my trial was up.

Self-defense is a big part of the curriculum. Training in weapons, self-defense, and forms comes with each level and is a lot of fun and takes a lot of hard work. The instructor is fair and helpful when you put in everything you have to build your own success. I even learned they offer the class community things like social gatherings for the holidays, a summer camp for focused training, semester seminars, and even an annual banquet that celebrates everyone's hard work. The training is demanding and you get the results of the work you put into it. I have lost 50lbs and am in my best physical condition in many years. White Dragon has a variety of classes for kids and my daughter (6) is a beginner student here as well. Sifu Post is an excellent motivator and is dedicated to the success and development of his students at all levels. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and I am grateful to have the support and encouragement of my Pai Lum brothers and sisters. There have been many examples of the organization, and its students, going well beyond expectations to support each other in the short time that I have been here. In addition to a wide range of class options: beginners to advanced, kids, teens, and adults, private and group, the school offers special clinics (summer camp is the best!), tournaments and other opportunities like picnics and banquets for students to come together. I went here for over a year, about twice per week. One of the masters talks too much, to the point…read moreit was disrespectful to the time and money we invested. Most days, in the middle of learning a technique, The Master would stop to talk about politics, movies, more politics, Netflix shows and books for LITERALLY a half hour at a time (I counted), often irrelevant to what we're learning. Other Examples: -Paid $50 for a 2 hour class in Drunken Boxing -The instructor goes off on tangents for first hour. By the end of the second hour, he told so many stories that he never finished teaching the class. We did not go through the technique enough times to remember how to do it by the next day. -Wooden man class is supposed to start at 7 PM - The Master is talking shop and says class will start soon. I leave at 7:45 because he's still talking. The teacher asks me the next day why I didn't stay around for class. -They are oblivious to how much they talk, compared to how little they teach. The teacher asks how one of my techniques is going, 1 week prior to a belt test. I tell him I have not been taught the technique he is referring to (despite going to class twice a week), and he didn't understand why. If you want to go to shoot-the-breeze about random and occasionally learn kung fu, without getting much exercise, go here. If you decide to go, Do NOT bring up politics, movies or Netflix. Do NOT ask about the difference between Shao-Lin and other kung fu. He'll talk for a half hour about why his is the best, and then forget that he was supposed to be teaching it. You won't even be able to have a conversation with them because they won't let you get a word in. I promise you I have LITERALLY stood there for 30 to 60 minutes at a time being told long stories about nothing, while not learning kung fu.

She took 15-20 minutes to explain the typical process on the phone to me and then we scheduled our first lesson. My wife and I were immediately put at ease by her friendliness and eagerness to help. We promptly booked 10 hours with Sherry. She took the time to walk through her openings with us so that we could fit all the lessons in before our wedding. She put together a wonderful choreographed routine to our song that made us feel special but was still easy enough to learn. Neither of us had partner dance experience before this so we started off very basic and worked up to fancier moves as we got more comfortable. Sherry was always very encouraging while providing clear and useful feedback. If we weren't understanding something, she would take the time to demonstrate again or explain it in a different way. She excels in being very specific with her critiques so that we knew exactly what we needed to practice and keep in mind. The dance lessons were such a fun experience for us amidst all of the other chaos of the month before our destination wedding. We absolutely LOVED Sherry and plan to return for more lessons in the near future. We can not recommend her highly enough!
