We are forever grateful for miss Kara. She has spent the last year helping our son grow more and more confident in the water and build his skills further each week. We started swimming here when Tristan was 4 months old at their free mommy and me intro classes. Which of course we highly recommend! Miss Stacy has an amazing program that helps get moms, dads and babies ready and comfortable in the water. The price point per lesson is a bit high but no more than market standards as we have noticed. But the cost is truly worth it once you see your little ones start to swim and love the water. I would have loved to give a 5 star review but honestly had to hold back. I felt like when our teacher was out due to vacation, illness, etc we were very well accommodated but felt the lesson was sometimes a lost lesson because the sub wasn't always on the same page as our son. Yes be still was able to swim for the day or week as scheduled so his skills were touched on but each teacher had a different way with their own lessons and sometimes we felt this would have been easier to make up our lesson with our regular teacher who knew the skill set and advancement or challenges of our child. We came from Houston where there is a pretty good program. We were searching for something that would push our 5 year old similar to what we're used to in Houston. I am impressed by how much they listen to our concerns. We did a lot of compare and contrast with what we're used to in Houston initially. We discussed it with the owner and they made an immediate change. We love watching him learn here, the coaches are all nice. I look forward to lessons. As an update, I noticed a bad review. There's just some that you can't please I suppose, but my experience has been nothing but professionalism. The owner doesn't seem to have a mean bone in her body. This is a fantastic swim school! You will not meet a more compassionate, dedicated owner (Stacy Young). I've known Stacy for 15+ years; she taught my boys to swim back when BDSS was in its infancy. Review #2: Wow I am just in shock at the total unprofessional nature of this business. After writing the last review the owner called my PERSONAL PHONE NUMBER, that's right people...my personal number (almost 2 months later) to reprimand me for my review. Instead of apologizing and finding out what happened, and taking some constructive feedback... she actually was berating me for my opinion. In my first visit it was communicated with me that we would be coming in for a lesson that would be 10 mins...not a 2 min assessment. I went there because I was looking for specialized swim lessons for my son who is terrified of the water. When I drove there I got lost because the business was hard to find, and it took me 40 mins instead of 30 mins. My kid went in the water, and I didn't even have time to sit in a chair before he was done. The 10 mins...was less than 2. Now the owner was upset with the fact it was "not a lesson" but as a potential customer that is what was communicated with me, so that's what I drove in for. I honestly wouldn't have made the 30-40 min drive for 1-2 mins in the water. I did listen to what the owner had to say on the phone, as I am a never one to get upset...but honestly couldn't believe it when she had no interest in hearing my side of the story. I thought at first she was going to apologize, but that sadly never happened. Let me just you (the readers)...I have NEVER wrote a review on Yelp....EVER. But this place was worth it! Not only did I have a terrible first experience, almost 2 months later the owner was EXTREMELY unprofessional in her yelling at me on my personal number! We liked the warm pool and the lessons, for the most part (and I love that they give you 4 free lessons just to try it out!), but here's why I gave this place 2 stars: - the changing room is very cold (at least in the winter) and you can imagine what that feels like to a toddler after being in the warm pool. Needless to say, lots of screaming and tears... - the receptionist who answers the phone (Pam, I think) is kind of rude. She has a very hurried manner and just wants to get you off the phone ASAP... you'd think the building was on fire and there is no time to answer any of your silly questions! - group classes cost $20/each for a 30-minute class PLUS you have to pay a $50 signup fee. I think that is absurd and way too pricey! And 1-on-1 classes are $20/each as well, but they're only for 10 minutes! Way too short IMO. - group classes can have up to 10 moms with their babies and we attended a class this big and it was just WAY too crowded in there. If I'm going to pay $20 for a class, I want to a little more room to move around in! read more

We have been very pleased with our experience at BDSS. We started our 2 1/2 old twin boys in lessons twice a week, and they love it! They have not only learned basic swim skills but they have improved on their classroom skills as well (listening, following directions and 1:1 teacher time). I discovered blue dolphin swim school about 14 years ago. My daughter was about 1 1/2 yrs . She was a tough child she cried ALOT!! She kicked,bit,fussed that did not stop Stacy from teaching my daughter she was patient with her and she became a great swimmer. Now my son is 2 and of course I looked up blue dolphin swim school again because they are the best... my son started in March 2019 and he cried each time but Stacy kept working with him. Today Aug 1st 2019 he has almost completed being a turtle and no more crying. I HIGHLY recommend blue dolphin swim school. Very patient,loving and kind. Our daughter went to classes here for over a year. When she started she was learning so much an fast. We were so excited to get to a point of being able to swim. Then they had a massive turnover and she had a different instructor each time. The hard thing was that they didn't know where she was ability wise and gave very generic lessons. I could see her getting worse- during lessons! Also, she is left handed so we were told for her to start with her left hand. The teachers were always new so they kept changing how she was starting. We had thought about putting our twins in classes here and I mentioned my concern about the constant changing of instructors to the lady at the front desk. She got the owner, who basically went off on me. I explained that my 2 year olds were wary of strangers and also of water so I thought it would be good to have a fairly consistent instructor. She told me about how experienced she was at teaching swimming and how she was the only female owner of a swim school and basically that she knows more about my children then me.....by the way I have my MA in clinical psychology and have taken several courses on childhood development. I disagree that putting scared children repeatedly with different instructors in a situation they find scary is a good method of overcoming their fears....but then again I just addressed phobias as a living so what do I know. At that point we did our paperwork to quit and road out the classes we had to pay for. So disappointed. I really feel like they lost quality instructors because of an insane boss and then had a hard time replacing them. read more
