Back in Ohio I am in and out of sandals, heels for work, barefoot working in the yard. We went on our annual canoe trip in rocky river water and water shoes, etc. You get the idea. My Sweet Water pedicure lasted a whole month and still wasn't chipping. SO impressed. Ohio pedicure's last me 3 weeks if I'm super careful. So if you're questioning a pedicure, do it. The rooms are open across the top so you definitely hear everything, from voices of other guest to the bathroom. Again, not a luxury place. But definitely not horrible.
