First of all, being in a small town and having a store like Tops in your area really helps out a lot. We no longer have to travel into Fredonia just to make some grocery purchases. The store has been cleaned up and restocked with a better, larger selection of food. The staff are decent and for the most part will go out of their way to get what you want. Pricing is the same at all Tops and is competitive with most other chain grocery stores. They keep the entire store clean. However, some of the isles can be a bit congested so there is no room for "cart racing". Are there better places to shop for food - obviously yes, but none with this selection locally. There is always ample parking and as with all Tops, they do accept Credit and Debit cards and the green stuff too!

In store sub line still sucks and it's still slow, but if you pre-order on the app for pickup it's great 80% of the time now. They did cut the meat portions by like 50% in the last 2 1/2 years,forget things like the extra oil on the side, cut it wrong, forget toppings, skimp on toppings... here and there, but it's better than it was. Sushi: 4.5 stars out of 5. Filling portions have gone down some in the last 2 1/2 years, but quality is still good. It's rare to get old mushy avocado in their sushi now. They always have great new rolls to try. Staff are always friendly working that section too. Pizza: 3 stars out of 5. Staff really like to chit chat with the already snail slow sub station staff and take their sweet time. Skimpy on toppings. Not very good pizza especially in NY where we have amazing pizza all over. Shelf stocking staff: 5 stars Always organized, faced, and clean with a good variety. Stocked well 90% of the time and rarely anything out of date or damaged. Dead carts, carts not plugged in to charge, carts setting in the parking lot or abandoned because they died somewhere in the store! Other than Tops, Walmart is the ONLY place in town that provides scooter carts. Now, we can't even depend on those! I'd finally had enough the other day after I picked up a nearly dead cart in the parking lot. I went to complain at the Service desk. There were others their with their own issues. The man working behind the counter raised his voice at everyone and told a girl to shut the lights off, which she did. They then walked off and left everyone standing there! I approached a long time employee to discuss my frustration about this ongoing cart issue. Her answer to me? Well, you know, we don't even have to have carts here. We provide them as a service, but we don't have to WOW, just wow! I asked for the managers name so I could address myself to her directly. I was told Colleen but gee, nobody knew her last name! This Wal mart used to be a great place to shop. Under this manager, it's gone down the tubes. Shelves are bare, shopping carts are full of garbage that employees can't be bothered to remove, customers issues are ignored plus so many more issues Soon, the college kids will be back, joy riding through the store on these essential mobility aids and nobody will say a word! Apparently, handicapped shoppers are not needed, welcomed or respected at Walmart Fredonia. My only recourse is to try to bring my own scooter, which I can't unload and load myself, or drive to Hamburg or Lakewood to cleaner, well stocked, customer oriented shopping experience. Some steaks a couple of their sausages some pirogies, sponge candy and other things. Heck we almost filled a cart while waiting for the subs. They're well known for their butchering service as well as custom bulk orders. I found the facilities to be extremely well stocked with tasty and nutritious foods. On the day that we visited, Falconer Meats was hosting an event called "MEAT US IN THE COUNTRY". Vendors were selling handcrafted items and farm stand produce. There was a BBQ food truck as well as an ice cream food truck. A winery was offering samples! It was an absolute delight to meet the nice folks from llama Adventures at Buffalo Creek, displaying their animals, as well as some of their handcrafted llama fur items. They are well known for their llama events, including birthday parties, weddings, family, reunions, etc..

This store is not busy for large portions of the evening yet somehow it's hard for the door watchers to be friendly And it seems like every time they hire a new employee they need to be babied for a month to learn how to provide reasonable customer service.
