Save Big Mattress is the best place to buy a mattress in the NE Atlanta Metro area. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. He's not pushy one bit. Sure, the place is unassuming and is dated on the outside, but it's a honey hole on the inside. There is a large selection of queen and king mattresses. I was looking for a full-size mattress so that limited our options here. Regardless, they had what I needed. They sell a private label that exceeds the quality you will find online or at a traditional mattress store. I did a ton of research online and visited multiple locations in-person. My husband and I recently came here to find an inexpensive mattress for our basement bed. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes! The salesman there was knowledgeable and quick, and we paid less than $200 for our mattress + box spring. Although it is probably the most uncomfortable bed I've ever laid on (expected, considering we asked for and bought the cheapest option for our full), it is only for the basement and will probably never be slept on. I've been looking for a replacement mattress for my 90 year old Mom's adjustable bed for almost a year. In that time I have gotten a PhD. on sleeping foundations, (thank you internet)but until this past Thursday hadn't found the combination of service, quality, price AND trust. Normally I shy away from any company that uses flashy names or advertising (I would have avoided "Save Big Mattress & Bedrooms" like the plague) but this company came up in a sidebar with educational information (not the flashy name) that peaked my curiosity. Well, that was my lucky day and the adage "timing is everything" was right on target. I got to speak with a person who knew more then customer + sale = commission. That year long education I had accumulated paid off because I immediately recognized that Kenny wasn't a salesman but rather a facilitator in matching the unique personal requirements with the correct sleeping foundation. Kenny was more concerned with my Moms comfort and providing her with the correct sleeping solution then making a sale. A company can have a huge physical inventory, but that inventory is actually limited to the knowledge and education of the person you are dealing with. There are SO many different choices available now then in the recent past that purchasing a mattress goes way beyond the choices of size; Twin, Double, Queen, King and soft, medium or firm and price. That's why I call a mattress a "sleeping solution" or "sleeping foundation." Not only is Kenny knowledgeable about his inventory there is an actual brick and mortar store to go to and feel the physical difference between each product. Shopping the internet is a wonderful way to educate oneself and see what's new in the market. I make most purchases that way. Hate stores. Hate shopping. Hate crowds. Hate parking. But purchasing a sleeping foundation, for me, requires a personal inspection. I did not feel comfortable in making such an important personal choice over the internet. This store misrepresented their product it was suppose to be extra firm. It was not the same as in the store. The salesman/owner told me to use a center support. I have4 supports. His next suggestion was to use bricks or phone books! First of all when was the last time you saw a phonebook? He will not give me any other help. Though the store isn't very large, their supply and variety of mattresses is quite impressive. The pricing was also right up my alley! Part II: MATTRESS SAGA. If one is good.... It's been a few weeks since Mom has gotten her new mattress. Each morning I've asked her how she slept, "like a baby" says she. And the mattress? "heavenly bliss". Well she still is, and it still does and I'm a happy daughter. IF the mattress didn't suit, and that could have been a slight possibility(sorta, kinda maybe, fingers crossed), I would have delighted in moving it right into my bedroom. Wanting to know what "heavenly bliss" felt like I gave it a test run. Sinking into what felt like a marshmallow cloud I was pretty sure Moms new mattress on her adjustable bed wasn't going anywhere and I was hoping to get visiting privileges. Being a person who actually doesn't want anything, Iv'e always been difficult to buy for. However, I decided that I too wanted "heavenly bliss" and Santa Mama said why wait till Christmas? So off we went and to our team gave a whistle.....(we told Sheba to be good while we were gone) to take my own advise and go see Kenny at Save Big Mattress. Not only was Santa Mama getting me a new mattress but an adjustable bed as well:) Yes, I count my blessings multiple times a day, not for things but the people in my life.
