Best Indian in Quebec city. The butter chicken is the best I've ever had, it's addicting!

This is very much an Indian fusion place and not traditional Indian food. I found this to be a…read moredelightful switch up, however, will note those in my group that were expected more traditional Indian cuisine were disappointed. For instance, butter chicken which is traditionally piece of chicken in a creamy sauce was served as grilled chicken thigh with the creamy sauce at the bottom. Given the size of my group, we were doing the tasting menu, and I appreciated the ability to customize this based on the individual. My favorite items included the idli which was crispy compared to the traditional soft kind, and the eggplant bharta- this was super flavorful and hands down the favorite of my group. I was a bit disappointed in the khadvi as it was dry and the vegetables (we got carrots) with mung daal. While the carrots were good the uncooked dal on top left an undesired taste and texture in your mouth. The item I was disappointed in though was the chocolate tart. Initially this is what drew us to the restaurant with the parle G cookie at the top. I expected more parle G blended in and the tart to have a more soft chocolate. Instead the cookie was only a garnish and I didn't taste this flavor again. The tart was also super hard to break making it difficult to eat. For 7 people we also had a really small and tight table that made it difficult to make space for the dishes - often we had to consolidate dishes for thr staff to help make room or give up our water glasses. It would have been helpful if the staff could have helped us make room instead of waiting for us to clear the table for space.
