I understand they got the best local blooms from Urban Buds and kept them in good condition leading up to pickup day, so they are a little more expensive. They photographed beautifully and surprisingly bounced back once I replenished them with water, after a long, hot day with no water! The day was going to be very special for us, but we were approaching it very low-key. The lovely lady at the desk asked for my color and flower preferences, to which I responded very vaguely. She asked for my price point, and then said she'd take care of everything. I arrived about an hour before my wedding. She and two of the other ladies came out to congratulate me and deliver a GORGEOUS bouquet and boutonnière. I was blown away. We received compliments on them all day long. But, more is exactly what I received from this service-oriented, customer-focused floral shop. I'll begin with Amanda, the floral designer. Pleasant, upbeat, and totally in tune with the detailed explanation of my expectations. In a 33-minute conversation, we covered: precise container, flowers, colors, height & shape of arrangement, amount of floral flow over the container and delivery timing. And... She delivered - right down to the type of berries I wanted. BRAVO AMANDA! BRAVO!!! I also applaud other members of their incredibly pleasant staff. My initial contact was with Mary. She was efficient and helpful with size, pricing & staff selection. Brief conversations with Tony & Jane confirmed that this is precisely the shop I would go to for a large, important function or event. So why does my opinion matter? I have been a flower arranger for more than 30 years. I have showcased arrangements at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston three times (for their Art in Bloom fundraiser). I have received ribbons at the Boston Flower Show and numerous local Garden Club Flower Shows & Fairs. I have high expectations. I am BEYOND delighted when a floral shop meets them. I asked for a large round bouquet, of which I showed her many pictures of examples, and my bouquet turned out to be the same size as my bridesmaid's...small. I don't know if she couldn't read her own handwritting or what because she uses a paper form to write down what is needed, and after a few changes it got incredibly hard to read, but I had the wrong flowers in my bouquet. I felt very frustrated and hopeless after meeting with her and discussing how flowers that I previously thought I'd be able to get in Sept. weren't going to be available afterall and had to choose a whole new bouquet. Not only was my bouquet very small and the wrong white flowers, the pink garden roses of which I paid so much for were browning when I got them. The arrangement itself looked thrown together with the colors not evenly blended throughout...a chunk of this kind of flower here, chunk of this kind of flower there. She sent an apology bouquet to my house after my mother-in-law told her how terrible the flowers were and the arrangement sent to my house were also browning and wilting, not quite as bad as my wedding bouquet though.

Score 1,000,000 for my little sister! And for Southern Floral Shop!! The greenery was abundant and of so many textures and dimensions. Red carnations and red roses. Frosted pine cones. Plaid ribbon rimmed in gold. And two beautiful candles in the middle -- at different heights. Whoever composed this amazing beauty should get an award. Plus great directions on keeping the arrangement healthy with wonderful watering directions, including having some element of holding the excess water, so it doesn't leak. Pretty much ignored me for three months, which isn't easy for someone trying to plan a wedding. So, only a couple months before my wedding I had to find a new florist. I found S Finch Florist just by luck and a good recommendation from another local florist. We met up, discussed what I needed, my budget, and she came through in a big way. Christine did a beautiful job. The bouquets and bouts were exactly what I wanted. The flowers were just gorgeous, and her arrangements were perfect. Just look at the pictures!!
