Great little niche gift shop on the main drag in Red Wing. Lots of Scandinavian related or imported…read moreitems, with some food and treats too. Things are a bit pricey and there's no real flow to where to check out, but it was still nice to stop in and grab some stuff on small business Saturday.

Ten Thousand Swedes Ran Through the Weeds…read more.. ...chased by one Norwegian! Tourists visiting Minnesoodah can expect to encounter a large population of tall, blond, strange-speaking people of Norwegian ancestry. To attempt communication with these locals, a visit to the Uffda Shop in Red Wing for translation guides such as "How to Speak Minnesotan" and "The Best of Ole and Lena" is always a smart plan. With educational guides in hand, tourists can next get a taste for local cuisine by checking out the Scandinavian food section of the store (mostly sweets). If you are visiting over the Christmas season, you may be lucky enough to enjoy a free sample of a Scandinavian dessert recipes, made in-store, with a free recipe card to boot. Other gift items include Polar Mitts hats, mittens, and scarves, crystal and glass, Christmas collectibles, towels and linens, and dinnerware. If you are a local, you are likely headed to the store for Christmas items such as troll statues, woolen Dale of Norway sweaters, or high-quality, krumkake and Bethany Housewares lefse equipment. Both tourists and locals alike will enjoy learning interesting facts about store items and Scandinavian culture from the friendly and knowledgeable store associates. They are also always happy to gift-wrap your purchase in the Scandinavian wrapping paper of your choice! Be forewarned that you may find yourself using the word "uffda" when shopping here as prices can be a bit "spendy".

I love a good store that sells Minnesota souvenirs. Minnesotans are good sports about poking fun of…read moretheir distinctive accent and slang that you only hear in this state. I spotted Love From Minnesota as I was sitting at Caribou Coffee, which is steps away. After finishing my drink, I paid this store a visit. I like a store that also has Rochester items. I liked the tea towel that pinpointed where Rochester was. When you mention Rochester, most folks think of the city in New York. Nope, that Rochester doesn't have the Mayo Clinic like the one in Minnesota does. There were Christmas items on sale, from socks to ornaments. The pine cone hedge hogs with Santa hats were adorable! There were plenty of sweatshirts and apparel flaunting the state. I loved a geode in state form. It was cool. It also has general gift items, such as punny gnome socks. I spent quite a bit of time browsing everything. I may have to go back and get the cork coaster set that declares one's love for Minnesota. It seems fitting that I should have them. I had a good browsing experience. I'd come back again. (27)

There was a clearance display that I assume turned and I knocked some crap off of it. The guy just laughed and said it happens all the time. I found some cute socks and a couple of stickers.
