The Shoppes of Monterra Commons is a new mixed use development owned by Diversified Realty Development Company, which is based in Deerfield Beach. Construction began in December 2021 and it looks like they just need to lease a few retail spaces. This development includes over 100,000 square feet of new buildings over 16 acres of land with 700 parking spaces. The development cost over $10 million to complete. In addition to the stores and restaurants, the Shoppes of Monterra also includes a brand new 175-unit Residential Active Adult Community. Current Monterra Commons tenants include a Brightstar Credit Union, Baseball Cards, Culver's, Huey Magoo's, the Learning Experience, First Watch, Crunch Fitness, Oaxaka, and Cali Coffee. Coming soon is Tide Laundry, Gyromama, and Playa Bowls. There is currently empty leasing space for other businesses. I tried out the Cali Coffee and Blueprint Cookies and loved both. I was surprised to see how busy it was here so it is clearly filling a need in the community. It is interesting to see new development come to what I considered a dead end area of Cooper City. It was only a matter of time before this last large parcel of Broward County was developed. Hopefully Cooper City residents are going to like what they put in.

It wasnt my thing but for others it was great morning entertainment. Every Thursday - Sunday the Plaza Live, with varying hours, has performers entertaining the public on the stage. "Radio" takes the stage most nights from 6pm - 10pm playing music from varying genres.

It is really cool to see all the different styles of cars while walking around getting some snacks from the local businesses. They do need to figure out a wider variety of things here and probably need to lower the rent because there is a ton of empty storefronts that used to be something or have never been anything yet. I really enjoy the nitrogen ice cream place they have here and they even have an escape room here! There is a nice variety of things here and you can kill a bit of time hopping around the place eating and drinking because these places have pretty good happy hour specials! At Nordstrom they were reduced to 90.00 which is a good deal for this excellent sneaker . Nordstrom rack has some nice clothing as well and I think I will be coming here to shop more often .
