We were greeted with warm hospitality from the time of our arrival up to and including our departure. The buffet was delightful with an amazing selection of delicious food. The chef even came to our table enquiring whether or not we liked the food and asked us if we felt any changes should be made. The service was superb; our water glasses were continually being refilled; almost as soon as our plates were empty they were cleared from our table; throughout our meal at least five servers hovered over our group frequently inviting us to try different food items and asking if they could get us anything else to drink. The reason I came to the Sawridge was for a networking event. The meeting area was cozy and perfect for a group of 50 people. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and the staff were able to provide extra seating. The event ran smooth. The indigenous decor is stunning in the restaurant, so we decided to come back for lunch. They have a gallery of indigenous Artwork, statues, and artisan pieces on display. When we returned for lunch to enjoy the restaurant, it wasn't very busy and peaceful. For eats, we tried the Annisabo traditional Cree soup and the BLT sandwich. Both were amazing! We were hoping the menu had more traditional options but our meals were delicious and the service was great. I would recommend the spot for meetings and lunch. Fo sho! read more

This a really nice place to spend the night. I only needed a basic room for a good night sleep. The gave me a quiet room on the fifth floor, that has only three rooms. I slept like a baby. The clerk threw in free breakfast, although I had declined it before. Breakfast features a good selection of healthy and traditional foods. WiFi is free and fast. The place is also well maintained and clean. Stay here instead of some cheap motel nearby! read more

The staff was wonderful The front desk guy was so friendly which is so nice after a long long day We got a queen suite ( two queen beds in separate areas) and it was nice but wished both rooms had a tv in them We order room service and it was so yummy the appetizer was a little small for price ( salmon on toast) but it was so wonderful Beef Sandwich and Caesar salad was delicious The fries had their steak spice on them and they were one of the best fries I have had The breakfast buffet came with the room, the eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes, oatmeal were great The pancakes were a little tough but were edible Check out was a breeze You can also have your dogs here ( for a minimum fee) which is a plus for people traveling with pets Would recommend this place to family and friends and would stay here again in future read more

My friend was raving about the dinner he and his wife had at the Sawridge Hotel a couple of nights ago. They were celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary and were originally planning to go to Red Lobster but she remembered how much she had enjoyed the food at the hotel when she had attended a conference there. Although the restaurant was closed they were served an incredible dinner in the lounge from a very pleasant young lady. Keith had ordered a steak that he described as the best steak he has had in years! He even described the plating presentation as excellent as well. I arrived late but I did call and let them know before hand. The room key did not let me in. Back downstairs to try again. Same problem. Back downstairs this time the night clerk comes up with me, still can't get into the room. He goes downstairs and I wait outside the room. I'm just tired and want to go to sleep, he runs back up and finally I get in. One card worked the other was a no go. Them I start to unpack when the A/C heater in the wet wall/service wall starts to make some really loud noises like an ice maker in my room! It's 1:30 and I wanna sleep not hear this. Get packed and ready to go back downstairs when suddenly it stops. Never mind drop it all and go to bed too tired to complain. As soon as my head hits the pillow, that racket starts up again! F&$! It. I'm out! Just too tired to do anything. Next morning up at 6:00 (not by choice) the racket woke me up. Went downstairs for breakfast. Please wait to be seated but no one to show me to a table, I just walk up and go for broke. Sit down start to eat and finally the waitress shows with coffee. I'm happy with the coffee. We stopped in there for lunch on Canada Day, the meal my husband had was acceptable. But mine was horrible it was the Sawridge Burger and the meat tasted awful. If this was Alberta Beef I am not sure where they got it because I have never tasted anything so bad. The restaurant was empty and the server was always off somewhere else. I have a lengthy story to tell, but if you have the patience to read it, I guarantee you won't want to stay anywhere else. I passed this on to the manager and the staff as well as they needed to hear just how great they were to us! (heavily edited from original due to text length restraints) First, some background. My family had just gone through a tragedy where my nephew died suddenly. So, for the funeral we had a bunch of family and friends coming in from all over Canada. I was hoping to get all the rooms in one hotel so we could all be together. Unfortunately, we first booked all the rooms at a different hotel, not knowing better... I was looking for a gathering room to house 80-100 people for after the funeral. I got a hold of Gillian right away and explained the situation and what we wanted--a room to gather. It was not a party, it was not a reception, it was not a celebration. We just needed a place where we could sit with one another, have a drink or two, perhaps a bite to eat and be left alone. Immediately, she started to make things happen. Good customer service goes a long way and is always noticed and appreciated (especially when one has worked in the field before...), but this was beyond anything we could have imagined or expected. Because, you see, this all happened and we didn't even have a single room booked with you. I made sure to tell her just how wonderful and cared about she made all of us feel--she truly was amazing. I mentioned that I regretted not booking the rooms at the Sawridge first and that if we hadn't already invested 2 days getting things sorted at the Radisson, I would move everyone over to the Sawridge. At least I was able to give you some business with the gathering... Fast forward now a day and it is time for family to check into the hotel. Within about 10 minutes of trying to check in to the Radisson, and not being able to (even though there was confirmation of a room in his name), my brother and his family walked out and crossed the street to you. He casually asked if you happened to have 11 rooms available for some combination of nights Thursday-Monday. And, in fact, you did! My brother asked if he'd be able to block off those 17 rooms so we could transfer everyone over from the Radisson. Mohammed took my brother's phone (it had the list of all the rooms and types needed) and immediately started to book the rooms. It was done in 10 minutes. Honestly, it took me longer to cancel the 11 reservations than in took for my brother to get it done at your hotel. We couldn't believe how easy it was and how wonderful the staff was being. And, it didn't seem like it was only because we were going through a difficult time, it truly seemed that it was just how you all take care of people. But the story doesn't stop here. My family and I walked into our room to see a beautiful gift basket waiting for us with a personalized note from Gillian. It was so kind and completely unnecessary that we were blown away. We went and had a snack at the bar the first night and were greeted by the most fun, humourus, thoughtful and "good at what they do" bar staff. In fact, many members of my family would run into them again and again--either through having stuff brought to the room or sitting in the restaurant and they always made a point of saying hello and asking how things were going. The gathering on Saturday night went off without a hitch. Thomas was so accommodating and helpful--and invisible! I can't tell you how many comments we got on that evening--the food was perfect, the venue was perfect, the staff was perfect, the vibe was perfect. It really takes some talented and caring people to pull off that kind of gathering with the respect it is due on such short notice. A few other things--while alone seem minor, when you put it all together, it shows just how many things went right: We all enjoyed the free breakfasts every morning--hot, fresh, and a good variety each morning. The rooms were large and very clean! All of the front desk staff were over the top helpful and accommodating--and not just your typical "make the customer happy" nice, but genuinely kind, compassionate and helpful. Helpful without making you feel like you were asking for the moon. Tons of parking! The décor in the main lobby is stunning. All the food we ate there was delicious. Check out was a breeze, we were sorry to leave! I am sure there are many other tidbits about our experience with you that I have forgotten about, simply because there were so many, but I wanted to make sure you knew the majority. We will be telling this story for years to come (and a completely different version about our experience at the other hotel). My experience here was horrible. For valentines my boyfriend and I ate and stayed here. We both ordered different things (resteraunt was extremely understaffed) but my food tasted horrible and his made him puking sick. In the room, the mattress is like a rock. And I have a rash all over my body from the bedding and I don't have allergies or sensitive skin. The only reason this place got a star at all is because it's looks beautiful and supports native culture. I really don't recommend staying here. Take your business to a less expensive three star hotel. read more

The staff are amazing! They were so friendly and helpful. The food in Creations was excellent. The Gluten Free Cheesecake was so delicious that a friend stopped by later in the night to have a drink with me and I ordered another peice even though I had one at dinner. I slept so well that I'm sad to be home. However from my stay in Jasper I was provided with the contact info for their mattress manufacturer and linens so that when I get my butt in gear I can recreate the sleep experience at home down to pillows and sheets! I think I might make this and place I visit every 2-3 months for time away from the family, this time I stayed due to a bathroom renovation mistake my husband and brother in law made. I am not a bath person however I drew a bath for some odd reason and I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it so much I has 2 bathes last night. I think I don't like certain tubs and that is why I avoid them. This tub was the perfect length for me, the perfect back incline and the arm rests were perfectly positioned. It was a deep tub and at times I found myself floating. So maybe now I need to find out who makes their tubs so I can buy one for home! Bathrobes were not in my room but the front desk was more than happy to send one up as I did not pack mine as in Jasper I used the ones in the hotel. Again so much so I bought one when I checked out! Breakfast was provided at no additional cost with my room, a Spring Break special. I am a Celiac so I could enjoy the French Toast, pancakes, pastries and such. But my scrambled eggs were perfect and my bacon was the right mix of chewy and crispy. I am sad to be home. I am also not trying to brag to my husband how well rested I am as he was up until 2am fixing the plumbing issues that forced me to a hotel to begin with. read more

The suites were very nice and the only reason for a 4 rating would be the poor lighting in the bathroom. Otherwise, it was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Reception was very professional. It's an ok place but that's all it is, ok. It is definitely overpriced considering the room quality. The beds are most definitely uncomfortable and have left me with a terribly sore neck! The provided towels are nothing compared to any other hotels towels as they are VERY scratchy and feel as though they'd fall apart at any given moment. The wifi is supremely slow and the TV's have no good TV shows on them as on the main menu of the TV when the guy is guiding you as he switches from English with an American accent to English with a French accent. The bathroom is nothing fancy along with the room even though it's a "suite" it seems to be a average hotel room, like heck even the sandman would be better or any given motel! There are no room lights, just lamps that either don't work or barely give off enough light to see around. The food is disgusting don't even get me started.
