Small bakers shop in the Teanlowe Centre. The shop is broadly divided into the bread and cake counter and the pie and sandwich counter. There's a good choice of fresh loaves and rolls and you can have your chosen loaf sliced which is very handy if, like me, you have a tendency to cut wonky doorstep slices when attempting it yourself. There are several types of pies and pasties to choose from which aren't bad as pies go. They also have a little section of breakfast items which can be put on a barm or put together as a breakfast tray. When I visited at about 10 am on a Monday morning though the few breakfast items on display looked pretty dried up and uninspiring. Crisps, snacks, drinks and soup round off the range, but in a little town stuffed to busting with pie shops, bakeries, sandwich shops and cafes there's an awful lot of competition and Sayers doesn't really stand out in any way from the crowd. read more
