4.85 for a single slice of pizza. Pizza was thin and tasteless, sauce sucked. Tasted like cardboard. Tough, bland dough. Won't be back.

Falafels were TERRIBLE but the chicken was OK. Asked for hot sauce & was charged for it - but it wasn't noticeable in the food. Bottom line is that this lunch was expensive for what we got - definitely NOT worth the investment. I have visited other locations in the peninsula & enjoyed the food. Not sure why this location didn't match them in quality & service. Very disappointing!

I ordered the Acai Bowl ($13). It was delicious and pretty. It was large and filling enough to make it worth $13. I highly recommend it. It came in a see-through plastic container, the kind that you could put in soup for takeout. The base of the bowl has a smoothie made of banana, strawberry, acai, raspberry, vanilla whey, and almond milk. The top consists of organic granola, natural peanut butter, kiwi, banana, blueberry, strawberry, and coconut shavings. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. There are 3 locations in total. This location opened 2019-07-18. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are no customer washrooms. There is free street parking. The restaurant is located in the new Grimsby On The Lake neighbourhood, and they opened early Oct 2022. It is relatively small but does have indoor seating for about 20 people. The interior is minimalist and clean, with two large-screen TVs. The main colours were black and red in the seating area. I ordered the (A8) Peri Peri Chicken (half) ($14.99) with rice. You could also choose naan instead of rice. The order was large. You get about twice as much food as you would in Toronto for that price point! The chicken is marinated for a whole day with their own recipe of herbs and spices. The taste was delicious, including the chicken meat inside. I highly recommend it. The half chicken and rice came on separate rectangular dishes. Both dishes were beautiful red, white, brown, and yellow colours! Unfortunately, the chicken was mostly covered, only exposing about 20% of the large half chicken. Perhaps more of the beautiful chicken could be exposed. I was allowed to photograph a half Peri Peri Chicken on its own. I was there on a Tue 8pm to 10pm. There was only one staff member, so he had to handle orders and cooking. It was manageable since there were (unfortunately) not too many customers at that time of weekday night. He was very passionate about the food served there. There are specials. I spotted an oddity among the specials: Fish & Chips ($14.99); it seems a little out of place! The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is one gender-neutral washroom, and it is also wheelchair accessible. There is free street parking. Review 2023-101

Nestled along the shores of Lake Ontario in Vineland, this storied establishment, housed in a structure dating to 1867, has become one of those places that quietly lodges itself in the memory and refuses to leave. We made the drive -- well over an hour -- for a Sunday brunch, and not for the first time. It is the kind of restaurant one finds oneself recommending without hesitation, not as a curiosity or a seasonal indulgence, but as a benchmark. The setting alone would justify the journey: a sweeping, unobstructed view of the lake from the sunroom and patio that shifts in character with the light, the season, and the mood of the sky above. On a clear day, the Toronto skyline is visible on the horizon -- an almost implausible grace note. But Lake House does not rest on its scenery. The kitchen demonstrates genuine culinary ambition with a menu that draws from Mediterranean traditions while remaining grounded in local and seasonal sensibility. The salmon crab cakes -- a pairing that sounds indulgent and delivers accordingly -- arrive with a pineapple and mango chutney and sriracha aioli that balance richness with levity. The Great Canadian Burger is a study in considered indulgence: brioche, peameal bacon, sweet bacon jam, and spiced maple aioli achieving a harmony of sweetness, heat, and savoriness that lingers well past the last bite. The service matched the occasion throughout. From the welcome at the door to our server Rhonda -- attentive, warm, and precisely calibrated in her pacing -- to the supervisor who moved quietly through the room ensuring that every table was well attended, the floor operates with the kind of seamless, unhurried care that is too often mistaken for effortlessness. It is not effortless. It is practiced and deliberate, and all the more impressive for it. Lake House Restaurant is a destination that justifies the drive, rewards the return, and -- in a dining landscape where so few establishments manage all three -- that is no small thing.

It would've been nice if at least one packed a bit of heat, but they're all tame, adding flavour without overpowering the squid. Thankfully, the semolina crust was excellent - crunchy, light, and not oily at all. The portion is generous and easily shareable between two or three people. A newer addition to the menu is the short rib sandwich ($34), and it's a good one. Large chunks of tender, flavourful beef are topped with sautéed mushrooms, crispy onions, arugula, and brie. The cheese adds a creamy richness that makes the sandwich stand out. The menu notes a horseradish aioli, but any zing from it gets buried under the slightly sweet braising sauce, which was too sugary for my taste. I would've preferred it kept more savoury. The sandwich is already quite saucy, and yet more sauce arrives on the side. Good for fries if you choose to switch the salad to spuds. After hearing plenty about the Great Canadian Burger ($29), I couldn't resist splitting one, though I ultimately wish I hadn't. The short rib sandwich is better. The burger is hefty, with a thick beef patty that's overly dense and heavily mixed, giving it more of a frozen-patty texture than the crumbly tenderness of a good homemade one. The potato bun also struggled to hold up against the avalanche of toppings: grilled peameal bacon, cheddar, onion, tomato, arugula, pickle, and two sauces. I'm not sure why the kitchen insists on sweetening everything - the burger comes with caramelized onion bacon jam and a maple chipotle aioli, both quite sugary. If you enjoy sweeter savoury dishes, you'll probably like it. Otherwise, I'd skip the handhelds. On our weekday lunch visit, the restaurant was well staffed and attentive. Even though we never felt rushed, we were in and out within about an hour. If anything, the service bordered on overly attentive... during that hour we were interrupted six times by four different people checking if everything was okay. My suggestion: let the primary server handle most of the check-ins, and only have others step in if things get busy.

They said they would wait for us to arrive around 7pm even though that is when they close. The Service: The service was exceptional. I think the man working there was the owner because he went above and beyond to accommodate us. I have many food allergies and he let me sub out ingredients to create the perfect meal for myself and he was extremely patient as he answered all of my questions after hours. The Food: We ordered the number 2 and 5 and the employee threw in a sample of the Thai soup for us to try. Thai Soup: The Thai soup was fantastic! It was thick, had a kick of lemon that I love and tasted delicious. We loved it so much we wish we had bought two bowls to go with our meals. #2 Bowl; My boyfriend ordered this dish as is and added tofu as his protein. It came with a peanut dressing, which he said was fantastic. The portion he received was really big and it filled him up. #5 Bowl: This bowl was a Mexican inspired bowl. I subbed out the cheese, and pita chips for more guacamole and edamame. The portion of my bowl was a little smaller than my boyfriends dish but the food was really good. It was really filling and I loved how they could accommodate my diet. Next time I might try a tangier dressing than the ranch this dish came with because I love a kick of lemon or lime juice with my meals. Would We Go Back? Absolutely !
