Leider nur ein Stern bei diesem Service... Wir wohnen seit kurzem in der Gegend und waren schon ein paar Mal da und eigentlich zufrieden. Heute wurden wir allerdings voll von einer dermassen überheblichen Servicekraft (nicht) empfangen, das war unglaublich beleidigend. Bei unser Ankunft 19:35 (gut gelaunt und voller Vorfreude) wurden wir mit einer dreist überheblichen Art darauf verwiesen, dass man vor 20 Uhr (also in 25 min) keinen Tisch ohne Reservierung bekommt OBWOHL Tische frei waren. Und auch andere Gäste gerade gingen und es keine Schlange gab. Einfach so, weil das eben die Regel ist. Ist mir so noch nie passiert. A great Italian and Mediterranean restaurant in Köln. I was invited to go here by a customer and the food was really good. It's a fairly spacious restaurant by the Rhine and during the summer months with nice outdoor seating as well. The menu is varied with plenty of options and there are daily specials. We arrived shortly before closing and the only thing I did not like is that, they took the booking and then tried to rush us through. The waiter suggested a starter of baby calamari and scampi in a griddle and it was amazing. My pasta with scampi was not so nice. Coffee great and a nice wIne list of Italian and German wines. All in all a good experience I would happily repeat. read more

I'm not sure what restaurant the other reviewers went to, but the 6 ofmua had a very nice meal with great service and delicious food. From the Scampi, which did not disappoint, to the calamari and goat cheese, to the whole Dorate fish, the food was delicious. The steak was a little disappointing but otherwise all was delicious. read more

Delicious scampi - so good we both ordered different versions of it. You can smell the fresh seafood as you walk in. It's got a classic, elegant feel while still inviting. The only shame was that we couldn't save room for dessert. Located in a residential neighborhood next to a take out pizza place. We had a car and it doesn't get dark until past 10pm (seriously bright out at 9pm).. But I would be slightly concerned walking out at night - make sure you CAN get a cab or park close to restaurant. Free wifi for guests. They speak English, Italian and German. read more

Ordered the grilled sea bass while my sister ordered the Scampi pfanne. Sea bass was just OK, but the Scampi Pfanne was heavenly! Definitely visiting again read more

Scampino - Seafood Near Me - Cologne, NW

One of the best fresh fish restaurants in Cologne. Hosted a business group there and it's a little on the pricier side but the quality is on the upper quartile. The service however was terrible. Our reservation was not honored and we asked for special seating, they ignored it. Menus came late, food even later when other tables got served quicker than ours. One of my guests ordered coke and the waiter poured the whole bottle onto a glass, saw that the drink overflowed, shrugged his shoulder and walked away. I wish my German was better to tell him it was not ok. I am not sure if I will give this another chance. The food is really super but the overall experience is not memorable. read more

Good food and good wine. I didn't try any fish dish but I will definetly do next time I vist Scampino. I rewarded myself with: Oysters (very good) and salmon carpaccio (outstanding) as a starter; as main course, Spaghetti with prawns, wonderful and reasonable portion, not those XXXXL portions so common in Germany; and Chocolate profiterol for dessert. Everything with an Italian (Friuli, if I remember well) white wine. I will visit again for sure. read more

Just got back to our hotel after a VERY disappointing experience at Scampino. This restaurant cam highly rated by the concierge at the hotel. The food, or what we got of our order was very good. That food was the two appetizers we ordered and those came about 40 minutes after we ordered them AND our entree. An hour and half after that we were still waiting for our entree. Meanwhile many other tables around us ordered their entrees and had received them. We approached the waiter and he said "Oh Oh Oh, it is coming right now". It never came. We approached the manager, and he said two minutes. It did not come. We had two nights in Cologne and Scampino ruined one of them. We never got dinner and we left. They didin't offer ANYTHING to compensate for this. They simply didn't care that they ruined the evening of two visitors to Cologne. We suggest you take your business elsewhere. read more
