I was in Fort Lauderdale looking for furniture and when I saw Scan design, I had to stop in. Located on Federal Highway in between Commercial and Oakland Park Blvd. It's a stand alone store with a nice size parking lot.. The store has a nice mix of moderate and modern pieces. It's a little different than the Boca store, smaller in size with 2 full floors and not as much designer and custom options. The one thing it does have in common is the customer service. Galina was very helpful. They didn't have what I was looking for but she did show me a couch that definitely caught my eye. I always like the furniture and the quality here. You know when a salesperson makes a sale, they don't want to know you after. .. not the case at Scan Design. I bought a couch and 2 recliners from Scan Design over 3 years ago. Love them, beautiful and worth the money. Our Sales Associate made the process and delivery seamless. Eleven months after purchase, I had a small problem. Micki orchestrated a smooth pick up, fix and delivery. Yesterday, one recliner (electrically charged) developed a clicking sound. I reached out to Micki in the hope she might help. Although my chaise is off warranty by 2 years, Micki advised on who I might contact. So grateful. Obviously, Scan Design and Micki B continue to care for their customers! Beware, the quality of their furniture is not reflected by their pricing. The headboard of the bed began to delaminate 18 months after it was delivered, despite being in a condo used by my husband and I a total of 30 days/year. We have no children nor pets and the AC is kept on and blinds closed continuously. This update is being posted because the headboard has continued to delaminate even further. read more

This is a Scandinavian style, contemporary furniture store with nine locations in Florida. Micki greeted me when I walked in, asking if I needed any help. She was very nice and professional. I love contemporary furniture so this was a nice place for me to check out some options. They have some L-shape sectionals in the $3,000 range up to some of the more elaborate ones close to $10,000. The can work with you to design any specific style to your liking in terms of colors, textures and shapes. I loved one that has a curvy shape, instead of the standard L geometric shape. The sales woman that helped us was very knowledgeable but disappeared after she said she would check on the stock of an item that we were looking at. My salesperson was helpful, honest, personable and knowledgeable. I came into the store looking for a couch and left with the couch that I wanted. I have had my leather sleeper couch for 2 months and it is comfortable and excellent quality. Compared to the nightmare that I had and am still having with West Elm, the process at Scan Design couldn't be better. The price that they give you is the final price, the delivery charge didn't change, and it is delivered in a week, on-time, and set up professionally. We finally decided on the couch we wanted and ordered today with a decent post Christmas sale discount ! Isabella was very helpful and patient as we evolved through our multiple machinations and deliberations as we finally came to a mutual conclusion about which couch really suited us. They have so many great couches here and fabric options. Many of the leather couches you see can be ordered in fabric which is important if you are Vegan like myself. After weeks of shopping and many 'spirited' discussions we finally decided on a larger wrap around couch in grey microfiber with retractable cushions that can make a larger bed like lounging area instead of just the standard chaise couch design. I really love this store. It's a great space for showcasing their many couches, tables and chairs and art work. Isabella and the whole sales team really made us feel welcome and were very helpful. After going to Robb & Stuckey, as well as Clive Daniel and Sklar, All in East Boca Raton, we were ready to purchase modern pieces at Sklar until our sales professional became unprofessional and uncooperative (but that's another review). A friend recommended Adam's Interiors on Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale and suggested we ask for Ron. I admit that we have driven past this location so many times when on Federal Highway back and forth to Boca but never focused on it in its non descriptive corner location on the east side of Federal until we stopped in one late Sunday afternoon. We met Ron, explained that we were not going to buy today but wanted to look around, and who referred us. He was easy going, helpful, professional without being pretentious and answered my endless string of questions. We left with some information and promised to make an appointment and return. We arranged for him to make a home visit for measurements, which he gladly agreed to, and after getting a sense of our design goals and space, we were better able to narrow in on various pieces, all with his astute design sense. We ended up purchasing a recliner leather sofa, recliner chairs, dining table with an awesome hand designed glass top made in Mexico, comfortable leather dining chairs, a unique cocktail table, and a large leather chaise and sofa. Yes, we bought a lot after several visits and much deliberation and even brought our design conscious friend Marsha to look at our selections. We were not able to decide on the bedroom pieces we wanted from their extensive selection, nor the media unit for our living room and Ron suggested we work with their custom, independent furniture designer. That person came out to our home after Ron did a preliminary design, and we selected finishes and resolved all measurements and final design based on his expertise and keen design sense. Yes we are very pleased with the depth of their collection, the professionalism, cooperation and upbeat good humored attitude of Ron. Pricing was highly competitive, many items were on sale and they have ongoing promotions where a donation to one of their non-profit charities results in a double reduction in cost ($500 donation gets you a $1999!.discount) lest I forget, many items at Sklar also available here but at a lower price. Highly recommended and highly pleased. Can't wait for our renovations to be done for our pieces to be delivered and installed. read more

Our sales person, Michael, has certainly put in a of time and effort to make sure we would be happy with the selections we made. He even came to our home to see if the items we wanted to purchase would fit in. But there was never any heavy sales pressure. Just his opinion of what worked and what didn't. read more

Adam's it's a hit or miss store. It is very contemporary, but it can go tacky really fast. There are so many nice clean pieces, and then, a lot more that are too busy, too colorful, and too sparkly that overwhelm the nice pieces and make them look cheap. This store however, it's NOT cheap. It is in fact very expensive for what it is. I was in the store for about 20 minutes and no one came to ask if I needed help. I guess things sell themselves here. I bought a BDI centro standing desk on March 15th. I was offered a discount to take the floor sample since everyone was going into quarantine and it was the only one of that color available. I was promised that when they open back up I will get a brand new one in exchange for the floor sample per my order form. I reached out May 23rd and was told that it will be about 6 weeks. Now it's over two months later. Nothing. I walked in there on July 24th and walked around looking to purchase more items and no one even acknowledged me. I don't even understand this. read more

Just got a Thanksgiving card from my salesman Harry. It mentions that referrals to friends are the best thing he can receive. That won't be happening. That reminded me that I meant to post a negative review. Earlier this year I ordered a bunch of stuff. Most importantly and urgently I ordered a pair of Stressless recliners. I have ordered them at other retailers for years and am well aware that if u order them not in stock they can take 5 months from Norway. I very specifically ordered two chairs that Harry said were in stock at Ekornes New Jersey warehouse. They could be delivered in 4 weeks. That was written on my order contract. The chairs I ordered were not the color I really wanted but I sacrificed that to get them in 4 weeks instead of 5 months. I very clearly discussed the 4 week delivery period. I would not have placed the order otherwise. Blah, blah, blah, it took over 4 months for them to be delivered. I got some explanations but no apologies. I thought they were kind of rude. I did a get a few coupons to get a discount of a couple/few hundred dollars if I ordered other stuff. Yeah, right. I ripped them up and threw them out. Oh yeah, when finally delivered one of the chairs was the wrong one. They were two identical chairs. How difficult is it to load the truck correctly with two matching chairs. I had to schedule another appointment the next week to have the other correct chair delivered. Very distasteful experience. There was another piece that took a lot longer than promised. They have some good looking furniture at prices that always appear to be on "sale." Sometimes some "sale prices" are better than others. The problem with Adams Interiors, and the reason for the one star is that there is ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE -- NONE -- if you have a problem. Their follow up is non-existent, and it is not unusual to wait for months and months for things to be fixed. Have bought from them before, but would not go back again. read more

My complaint is not with the showroom, the office staff, nor the selection. My complaint is with the 'service' provided by my sales person. I was pleased with the service and response time with communication UNTIL the furniture was ordered. Then it changed. I was told when ordering that my sofa and chair would be in around the first week in May 2018. I was told that the furniture was on the ship twice before it actually was. I have never heard from anyone at Adam's Interiors to prepare me for the delivery (except to ask for the balance of payment, and confirm the delivery schedule). The delivery men were wonderful. But, I was totally unprepared when they asked for an extention cord and a three-way plug. My sofa and side chair are perfect, but my salesperson dropped the ball. read more

If you use their decorating service, you are completely out of luck as they try to push any problems off to them as they are not "exactly" working for their company. All in all a horrible experience. Absolutely 5 stars from beginning to end. First off, let's talk about selection. Out of the 4-5 furniture stores along US1 in this area, this is the only one I will personally shop at. Reason being? Their pieces are luxurious, classy, elegant.. And even colorful if need be. I was told by one of the employees that every single piece of furniture in the store can in some way be modified, be it color, or it is reversible, or size etc. Which brings me to my next point. Customer service. I could not have been any more satisfied by the quality of service I received during my visit here. A nice, professional, woman came up to me and welcomed me into the store. She then gave me a run-down of how the store works, and invited me to take a look at the second floor as well. After I had the chance to look around for myself (I LOVE when a salesperson knows how to give me space too!!) she came back, and brought out all these books of ideas for the type of piece I was looking for. This is not part of the leather "weathering" process that the Adams employess believe I am stupid enough to believe. The problem is not enough padding under the leather. I've had a similar experience as others on here. If you're ordering something custom, be prepared to WAIT...and WAIT...and WAIT some more. The sales lady told us on 2/1 that it would be ready in 4 weeks and we're still waiting on a firm update. I call back every week (note they NEVER contact you - awful customer service in general) and it's always "well, the manufacturer is saying it will be shipped the following week". And that has been repeated over and over. If it's not confirmed by next week, I'm cancelling the entire order and expecting a full refund. Bottom line, this place offers AWFUL customer service and never follows up on anything. Stay away from it like the plague... read more

This is by far my favorite contemporary furniture store, as it's tailored towards my love of unique, fun, and modern style of decorating my home. An earlier reviewer referred to it as a "playground for adults," which I definitely agree with! They have two floors, and the showroom is big but still cozy feeling, and I feel like I could spend hours exploring every little to big item there.
