I am new to Fort Lauderdale having moved from Los Angeles and wanted to buy all new furniture. I did my due diligence and visited: Havertys, Ethan Allen, Ashleys, Rooms to Go, Baers, Pottery Barn, Modani, City Furniture, and MH2G shopping for living room sofa, chairs, and bedroom furniture. Some of these had an earliest delivery of 8-16 weeks(not their fault) out which is fine if you are replacing furniture. Some were way overpriced in addition to the wait. Havertys, Pottery Barn, MH2G had wonderful salespeople(not pushy). Baers - I really liked, but I had the laziest/uppity saleswoman from Seattle who was definitely in the wrong profession. I was going to return when she wasn't working, but found "Encore" and fell in love! OMG - At "Encore" I bought an Italian leather sofa, chairs, and loveseat, all for low prices and high quality material/upholstery and going back today to buy bedroom furniture. Arthur was a terrifically knowledgeable salesman especially as he was in the Product Development field prior so really knew the quality of the pieces, and had a wonderful eye for design. The delivery guys, Mike and Chris were also a joy to work with, were on-time. organized, and friendly. I normally don't write reviews and wasn't asked to - but I am so happy - I just had to. The staff here is incredibly rude and they make everything difficult. We bought a $5 million dollar house that had lights that weren't our style but very expensive and nice. Each light retailed for around $5k. They told us that in order to pick them up we had to completely crate everything and wrap it like we were shipping it across the country, which is super expensive and troublesome! The house is like 2 miles from the store. So we took the glass pieces out of the lights to secure them. Then when they saw the lights they said they didn't want them because they have nobody to put them back together. They never mentioned that we shouldn't take them apart at all. They were very rude to us the entire time. They must have tons of items to purchase because they treat you like they really don't want your stuff. The rudest, most unpleasant staff with poor quality items. First, we had a handicap customer that was willing to purchase various items as she was under a timeframe. The greeter was so nasty that he wouldn't even allow us to park in the DESIGNATED SPACE for 5 minutes to help our client. Had the nerve to tell us to park across the street!!! My partner purchased several piece 2 months ago. Encore packed them very securely. It was then delivered to a storage unit, where it sat. Today was moving day and when movers unpacked the king size bed frame there was no hardware for us to assemble the frame. Moving day is extremely stressful and for Arthur to be so confrontational, and narcissistic, he said "5x in a demeaning way. The hardware is in an envelope taped to one of the wood sides." My partner is 75 and the most honest and ethical man I have ever met. The status of Encore has dropped. "Five X". No way possible Arthur could be incorrect????? This store is absolutely amazing. I want everything! This is the nicest consignment store I have ever been in. There is 25,000 square feet of exceptional jewelry, furniture, lighting, art, and home decor items. Everything is arranged far more artfully than I could ever think to put it together. Items are a third to a half less than you would pay at retail. They claim to move 50 percent of the inventory every week so be prepared to buy if you find something you want. I was looking for a new bedroom set and while I loved several sets they all had a sold sign on them. I am going to have to keep an eye out. If I had an extra $3,000 lying round I would have snapped up a dining room set. Too bad I didn't buy that Game Stop. You can check Encore Interiors website for inventory so you don't have to keep going to the store to see their latest and greatest. Great place for high end home furnishings and home decor. I was in yesterday. They had some great art books! Chinoiserie seemed to loom prominently throughout the Gallery/show room. Arthur Stott , the sales guy is an experienced and excellent sales person/designer. All this cool stuff is half of the retail! Extremely impressive collection of curated, unique, gorgeous, high quality furniture and decorative pieces (and designer jewelry!). My interior designer friend did her an entire house (and her high end clients projects) from here and is always talking about this place. The most impressive thing aside from the amazing pieces are the reasonable prices (easily 75% off retail) and the excellent customer service provided by Robyn. She is super passionate about interior design and could tell you the history of probably all or most of the pieces in this showroom. We went "just to look" but her salesmanship was so amazing we caved and purchased a few pieces. Definitely ask for Robyn. She will help you immensely with any interior design project you may have and found her to be very knowledgeable. This would be my #1 stop for furniture/decor shopping. 5 stars through and through. PS I'd like to add that some of the negative reviews are extremely unfair and pretty ignorant (evident by the language/grammar expressed). This is one of the best run businesses in Broward County. I have been buying and selling at Encore for many years. The store is immaculate and all the merchandise displayed to its best advantage. I am particularly happy with one of the salesmen there, Arthur. I go out of my way to seek him out when I make a purchase. He is a knowledgeable and helpful. This place do have a lot of nice stuff. But the business ethics was not so good. The store offered to hold an item for me so I can go home and measure the area. I was planning to return next day to purchase the item but I got a text before the store even opened and advised me the item had been sold. If we had an agreement to hold an item, they should at least call me to see if I am really interest on purchase this item. All I can say, Encore had "NO BUSINESS ETHICS" and "CAN'T KEEP TRUST THEIR WORD". I will never do business with this place. read more

I was the first customer in the door when they open on federal highway. As a dealer I was amazed by the amount of quality merchandise and fair prices. I purchased a lot of merchandise from them as I used to do the Scott show in Atlanta, And also sold on eBay for a long period of time. Sent in pictures of a chair and ottoman for consignment and they approved it to bring in. When I arrived and unloaded the furniture they told me it had a small stain on the back and they wouldn't take it. They also wouldn't toss it for me so I had to reload and bring it home. Normally not a big deal if they didn't have severely stained and damaged blue swivel chairs they tried to sell me a week ago. They claimed the stains on their blue chairs would come out with professional cleaners. So why would they reject my chair with one small stain on the back vs the stuff they have on the floor which is 10 x more stained?? read more

Recently moved to Fort Lauderdale a few months ago. I stumbled on the store accidentally, and so glad I did. I found West elm chairs, like new condition, 4 for the price of one. I have found prints and the coolest accessories, last month I got a lamp that was easily 1000.00 new for 110.00... Everyone has always treated me with knowledgable, friendly service, I mean everyone! I am welcomed back every time I walk in the door, and i recommend it to all my friends, who all love it. My taste is super eclectic, but not too traditional, so the review below, stating that the store is all that, is Bull! I have purchased here quite a few times now, and every time, I sign the pick up slip stating I have 7 days to get my stuff out of there, so again the review stating you have to carry it out on your back is bull too.. I stop here on such a regular basis that the entire staff knows me, I don't even need anything right now, and i went there tonight!! i am addicted.. Not your typical consignment shop. A really nice selection of used furniture and accessories, displayed very nicely. Not just thrown into aisles, as most consignment shops do. Each item is ticketed with the date it arrived. Prices are cut 25% after 30 days, and down to 50% after 60. If the tickets are correct, very few items remain after 30 days. So I guess if do not see something you like, come back in a few weeks. Also a good place to get some decorating ideas for your own home. You can find some decently priced furniture and decor here! Handicapped parking is at the front door and maybe one or two regular spots but more regular parking is available across the street. No crosswalk. Upon entering, we were greeted by a really helpful guy who explained how to read the dated price tags. The longer the item is there, the larger the discount. It's cool that you can track some of the stuff on their website to keep an eye on it. There was a certain price threshold for it to be online but they update it practically everyday (except weekend?) Some of the furniture isn't really "us" but that's really subjective. There's also artwork, outdoor furniture, decorative pillows, rugs, you name it. It's definitely worth checking out at least once to get a frame of reference. read more

We have been going to Encore for years and have purchased a few minor items at their previous location. We stopped yesterday at the new location on us 1 close to the airport and purchased a chair and a lamp. Great deal on both. Beats Ikea and Room to Go because Encore does not seem to carry low end stuff. A lot of huge old style furniture and accessories that may fit in your penthouse but also a lot of original stuff that you only see there. We love to visit as you never know when that thing you cannot live without will appear. Staff is nice and helpful, parking is easy in the back of the store, we will come back with pleasure and hope to find that elusive mirage. read more

Be very careful if you leave your items at this location. When I requested my 2 items to be returned in writing, I was told they were missing. They had no idea as to how and when the 2 items were lost or stolen. The store manager was the messenger for the owners who sounded like a puppet recorder. In addition, he was extremely defensive and lacked any sort of professionalism. While a small percentage for the loss was offered, it was not commensurate with the original listing price, considering the fact the items could have gone missing after I left the store. I was a big fan of this place, but the truth settles in after a few purchases. First, the prices are marked up significantly higher than other outlets for the same pieces. After two months in the store the prices can come down to market levels or better. But that too is an illusion. Everything you read in the reviews about the rudeness and inner cliques and deceptive business practices is a red flag, as I learned the hard way after spending $5 to $10 thousand in the store in just a couple of weeks. When an inner clique member is allocated a markdown item ahead of you, many stories and secret rules and excuses can be told by management to try to explain it away, but as they say in the tech business the problem encountered is not a bug it is a feature that can be intended by the store to cheat regular customers. When I was on the receiving end of the cheat a second time in only two weeks, the first manager/owner I spoke to blamed a sales floor associate, "chewed him out" and then sent him to me to ask if I wanted a different sales associate. Nope. I wanted honesty and for the manager/owner to take ownership of the problem rather than blaming a salesperson like it was my fault for picking the wrong one of his employees to ring me up at the cash register. I then was turned over to a second manager/owner because the first one apparently left the store without circling back to me. He confirmed the observation of others providing reviews that the rudeness and business culture problems at the store are pervasive and come right from the owners. First, he announced that he didn't have time or any interest in "dealing with the sh*t" addressed by the other manager/owner who disappeared. He threw the sales associate under the bus too and felt he did his part after a few attempts at BSing me with third and fourth versions of the "facts" to explain how the store practices were not deceptive or unfair to regular customers outside the "privileged" circle referenced in other reviews. My wife and I felt like we needed to shower after listening to the repeated rounds of BS, and blaming others for what went on under his watch. Since we were spending $2500 a week or more in the store and still subjected to that treatment, I can't imagine what spending levels you would have to reach to be part of the privileged clique (or even worse, what someone looking to spend the occasional $1000 in the store would be treated like). The culture in this business seems rotten from the top down, and with so many complaints it is surprising that the Federal Trade Commission or Florida consumer protection agencies have not thought to take a look at what is being practiced there. If I had a do-over I would have never spent a dime in that store and I'd be $10000 happier. read more

Encore Interiors is a local gem and I had the pleasure of consigning with them two years ago. The process couldn't have been easier and my sofas sold within a week! I've also purchased a number of items from their carefully curated store: decorative pillows, art work, end tables, rugs, etc. I used to consider this shop simply a great consignment store but I now see that it's more than that: it's a community establishment, whose owners took care of their staff during an unprecedented time.
