I booked this hotel (now it has changed name to Scandic Maritim) through SAS website and got myself a budget room relatively cheap. Hell, I shouldn't complain about much when I got that cheap price. Reason I chose this hotel is because it's only 50m away from the office where I had meetings with - so it's very convenient for once. The other reason is apparently the view. The hotel is right on the dock of Smeasundet, and it's pretty centrally located given the fact that Norwegian's "longest shopping street" is just 300m away. Room is small (hello, budget) but clean. Bathroom is a bit odd without door on the shower cubicle and placement of the shower head, but hey - it's one person room, so I could live with that. There's the gym facility (but no water dispenser??) that you could use for free as a guest and there's breakfast included which is pretty good for the price I paid. The restaurants have apparently few restaurants that are considered the best in town, although I only tried the cafe. Maybe next time :) Overall, I will stay here again due to the proximity to the region office I'm working at.
