I stayed here for one night, coming in late from the airport. When I arrived (after finding the bell to get in), a friendly young chap greeted me at the reception. The room I was assigned though had apparently been cleaned, but briefly used; the bed was untidy and one of the towels had been used.
I called reception and was asked whether the room was usable at all (and that their computer had shown the room as cleaned). I replied that the room would be okay if they gave me new bedsheets and towels. Then the same poor young man from reception came up to make the bed and bring me towels. He apologised for the inconvenience and I was happy I could finally go to bed and get a few hours of sleep. Other hotels might just have upgraded me to a better room, but I was okay with that solution at half past one at night. At least the bed was comfortable and I got a few hours of good sleep.
Breakfast was pretty decent, with good selection and many options for those with special dietary needs (lactose free dairy, soya and almond milk, gluten-free stuff etc.) And I enjoyed the lactose-free scrambled egg, which is a rarity in hotels.
So the Scandic provided a very mixed picture: friendly and helpful staff, a messed-up room, but good breakfast. That makes for a fair hotel overall, a guess. read more
