I own a 2016 Honda Pilot. I was visiting from Chicago and encountered a problem with the starter push button. I initially called the Honda dealer in Estero and did not like anyone I spoke to there. A friend of mine has an Acura and suggested I call Scanlon. So glad I did. I initially called and spoke to someone, but for whatever reason he told me someone else had to call me back to make an appointment, but never did. My friend told me to make an appointment online which I did. My service rep was Jose. Excellent customer service! No pressure, respectful and very professional. They had to order parts since they don't carry Honda parts. Rather than bring my car back and deal with my car potentially not starting and wait again, Jose set me up with a loaner for 4 days. Very much appreciated. Luckily, only one part had to be replaced which cost 40% less than it could have been. As I said, they didn't try to take advantage of me. They didn't force the inspection on me, I always decline anyway because dealers always find something. And washed my very filthy car! I think they may washed extra. Lots of bugs-long drive from Chicago, plus it was not clean to begin with. Anyway, if you have an Acura or even a Honda, definitely go to Scanlon!! Ask for Jose! read more

I really wanted to have a better experience here, but unfortunately it fell short. The staff was polite, but communication throughout the process was inconsistent, and I often had to follow up myself for updates. The sales process felt more focused on closing the deal than addressing my questions and concerns. The dealership has a nice showroom and a decent selection of vehicles, which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one. However, customer service after the initial interaction left a lot to be desired. I expected a smoother, more transparent experience from an Acura dealership. Hopefully they improve their communication and put more emphasis on customer satisfaction. read more

Purchased an Acura TLX a little bit over a month ago with a nice man named Roger. Had my tire pop randomly while driving and couldn't get my vehicle to a shop while driving. I assumed I would have a spare tire to replace it in a situation like this. Turns out I was never given a spare tire, I then went to the business to see if they can provide me one. I was told because I didn't come within a month there is nothing they can do. Extremely disappointed considering this is a vehicle worth over 35,000.00 and this store is clearly very successful. Scheduled an appointment for a diagnostic check to find out why my car alarm is going off randomly. That was for 8:00am Friday morning. I dropped it off because I was told they did not have any loaner vehicles left. I receive a call at 12:33pm saying the tech is working on the vehicle it should be another hour. I call the shop at 3:52pm asking on a status on my vehicle, he said let me check and called me back saying they aren't quite done yet. I finally receive a call at 4:25PM saying my vehicles finished and they can fit me in on Tuesday to fix the problem. By the time I was able to get my car the service dept was closed and the sales workers inside had no idea why I was there. 8 hours later and over $200 to see what going on with my cars electrical system. !!USED CAR BUYER BEWARE!! My partner and I purchased a used vehicle from this location back in May. Our sales guy was great! Went through financing with a breeze. The sales guy said the vehicle when through an inspection and everything was fine- we should've ask for this inspection and/or taken the vehicle to our shop. During our test drive we noticed a burning smell coming from the engine bay and we (including the sales guy) chalked it up to the engine bay being cleaned and shined up. The vehicle had to come back after the purchase for an alignment, which was agreed to before we signed our purchase agreement. A month later I took it to our shop as the burning smell didn't go away as it was assumed it would after the engine shine wore off. At this time it was discovered the vehicle had an oil leak that had been leaking for awhile and should've been caught in this dealers inspection. $5,000 later the issue has been fixed and the vehicle is running amazingly. I'm not mad and I'm fortunate enough that I can afford to pay for the repairs but that could be a different story for another buyer. Updating my first review as there were misunderstandings (e.g., a check was sent out but never reached our house, and they are cancelling the original and sending out another check with a higher amount to compensate for defects identified at the dealer or first 10 miles of driving (windshield crack, stereo not working, heated seats not working etc.). I appreciate Scanlon personally calling me back and discuss outstanding issues, then following up to resolve as both parties tried to be fair (e.g., I didn't ask for 100% of the repair costs but 40% since I purchased an older vehicle). read more

I have had just two experiences at Scanlon Acura with regards the service and both have left me extremely frustrated. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT get your car serviced at Scandal Acura. My first appointment on October 7, 2020 was to have a host of things completed (broken door handle, backup camera not working, brakes replaced, transmission flush, etc...) and since it had been about a year since the oil had been changed on the car I asked if they could also change the oil - which of course they said they would. Then when I went to pick it up I noticed that the oil life was still at 30% (not reset to 100), so I brought it back and asked if they forgot to reset the oil life. They admitted they forgot to change the oil (even though it was on the service request paperwork). My second appointment on Dec 3, 2020 was to have the oil changed that they forgot to change on Oct 7. They tried to sell me a $120 B1 service - but I told them that I only needed the oil change. I instructed them not to wash the car (I'm very particular about the car and do not go through automatic car washes). The oil change was completed in about 90 minutes and when I returned to the car, I noticed that it had been washed. Upon further inspection there is paint missing in both the front and rear bumpers because of the automatic car wash that they use. I will not be going back to Scandal Acura, EVER. And I am making it a personal mission of mine to steer anyone and everyone I can away from the Scandal brand. THEY. ARE. TERRIBLE. read more

Had an appointment today at 1 pm for a valve stem replacement , we've now been here for 2 hours. Being busy doesn't excuse it because appointments should be first priority & if that was the case we should've been made aware prior. I did not clear my entire day for a 1 o clock appointment. They didn't even bring the car around back for about 30 minutes it was just sitting in the service drive through on & running. So we finally go in after waiting 2 hours to see what the hold up is & they tell us they haven't even fixed it yet , so we're leaving , Thanks for nothing. There's rarely a wait for an oil change or quick service, and the waiting room is comfortable with wifi and snacks (something this very pregnant lady especially appreciated), and the service folks are friendly and kind. Sam is an extremely dishonest salesperson. In November 2017 Sam reached out to share a great deal to get me into another lease with Scanlon Acura. Sam advised they would forgive ALL excess mileage on my old Acura lease and remaining months. I went to the dealership and again Sam discussed the terms he previously discussed (remove all excess mileage and pay remaining 4 months). My wife called in during the signing and Sam repeated to my wife that they would forgive all the excess miles. The waving the excess Mileage was the key to the deal and ONLY reason I came into the dealership!!! Months later received a letter from Acura Financial stating I owed money for the excess mileage. I called Sam, he stated he remembered me and advised him of letter. He stated he would fix it and I wouldn't need to worry about it. I checked the Acura Financial account and only seen a loyalty 7, 500 mile waiver applied. I called Sam again about the mileage and to my surprise he was singing a totally new tune. Sam stated we discussed numerous times during signing I would be responsible for excess Mileage. I was shocked!!! I asked to speak to management and their response was there was no where stating that. ***I have made large financial purchases in the past (house, CAR, etc) and these type of transactions require a scent of trust with the salesperson. Trust is so important largely in part because these types of purchases require a lot of paperwork. When reviewing paperwork with your salesperson, many times a summary of what you're signing is conducted by the salesperson as he / she flips through each page for signatures. "This page is odometer reading... Sign here, this page is transfer of title... Sign here... This page is us taking care all your Miles!!!... Sign here!!!" In addition, my wife and I drove to Scanlon Acura and the General Manager refused to even talk to us in person regarding the matter. Extremely disappointing to treat a customer that bought two cars in the past from Scanlon Acura. During purchase of vehicle, Sam stressed numerous times to give him an excellent score on the Acura Corporate Survey. I will definitely reach out to Acura corporate regarding this matter. My husband and sons surprised me with a new RDX as a Christmas gift. One of my sons and husband spent the weeks preceding Christmas negotiating the deal withoanne Barraza. My son handled most of the deal from CT, as to keep it a surprise. He stressed how responsive, honest, open, and helpful Joanne had been throughout the process. On the day we went to pick the car up, Joanne spent about 2 hours with us in the car going over all of the technology. I have a 2014 RDX, and the 2021 has changed a lot. The 2021 has so much more tech than my 2014. I remain very thankful for how helpful, clear, and informative Joanne was. Though spending 2 hours in a car might sound overwhelming, it was so informative. She was so helpful, patient, and clear.  When we finished our time together, she made sure to add my number to her phone. I had purchased a used car from Scanlon Acura in Ft. Myers, Florida. I had noticed my hub caps did not match. The salesman told me he would get me matching hubcaps after the purchase I waited two weeks and did not hear back from my salesman. I called the dealership, as well as I called my salesman and it seemed my salesman was ignoring me. I asked to speak to the general manager of the dealership. I later did speak to the assistant manager and he said there was nothing that can be done. That Scalon Acura will not send me matching hubcaps for my car and will not pay for new ones so that they match on my used car that I bought from them.
