As in, at all. Main course was a rogan josh which again , wasn't exactly spicy but had a good balance of flavours and the toasted onion rice and slightly salted yoghurt that went with it was excellent. The dish was more than the sum of its individual parts basically. Last course was a rice pudding with coconut, lime and maybe some crushed cardoman? Very nice. Service was great, vibe was nice and they are doing some more mid week regional food nights so probs worth checking.

Mulberry Street is a bar/restaurant that's doggie friendly, sells up to three real ales (usually Harviestoun and Fyne Ales), serves food and has a pretty big outdoor seating area. The beers are always well kept and this is shown by the yearly entries in the Good Beer Guide that Mulberry Street enjoys. The food is really good and not that expensive too, with Sunday brunch being the highlight with all dishes being served with a pot of tea or speciality coffee. They also have a quiz on Monday nights which is free to enter. The staff are really friendly and efficient too. It tends to get pretty busy on a weekend and in the evenings, and if it's a sunny day you'll need to turn up early to get a prime seat at one of the bistro style outdoor tables to watch Strathbungo life go by! Other establishments in the area may be more hyped, but they can't beat Mulberry Street's dedication over the years to this once obscure area of the Southside.

There's a separate area for the restaurant which was very quiet compared to the bar area but maybe that was because it was mid afternoon. Toilets are downstairs although when we'd visited, the power had gone out so the waitress directed me to the disabled instead. Staff at the bar were really friendly and chatty and I was impressed with the range of drinks. I opted for Strongbow on tap, and there was also West beers available. A round of 4 drinks was just over £10 so not too pricey either. Only downside was that they don't do cocktails but it is a pretty small bar so I guess they can't do everything! I'd definitely head back to check out the food after this visit.

The menu has so many Scottish foods in it, there's no doubt this is a Scottish fare restaurant. I did have to look some of it up because even other Scottish restaurants hadn't had things like cranachan or rumbledethumps on their menus. Ordered were: bread, beef stovies, lamb rump, slow braised beef short rib, cranachan, and chocolate brownie. The beef stovies is beef stew with a potato pancake hat served in a cast iron cauldron. Very cool presentation, and quite a tasty stew inside. I liked the small cut of everything, so it was easy to eat. The lamb was so tender and flavorful, without being overcooked. I substituted rumbledethumps for the polenta so I could try some, it was a lot like mashed potatoes with some extra flavor in it from the cabbage. The black garlic emulsion was a little earthy but went with the lamb so well as a result. My only fault would be the mint drizzle being too sweet for my taste. The short rib was masterful, essentially fall off the bone, and a good herby rub. The desserts were a step down from the mains. The cranachan felt like it had bromelain in it, breaking down my tongue as I was eating it. Outside of that sharpness, a very tasty and solid dessert. The brownie was heavy and fudgy, so if that's your type of brownie then it's here for you. Otherwise it's too much on a stomach already packing the amazing dinner preceding it. All in all, what a place, what a meal, recommended.

It makes total sense though, the bar staff don't have a view of the door because of the big round pillar in the way. We had a good laugh about it though. The place was really busy with a rather eclectic mixture of people - older men, business people and later on some youths who were pretty drunk and relatively inappropriately dressed. Anyways, on to the food. My friend went for the pork and black pudding burger with the fried egg. Be advised that there is chopped bacon in the pork mince and so don't worry about the pink spots. It comes with a side salad and some fries. I myself wen't for the veggie haggis burger (I don't know why) but I do not regret my choice (salad and fries as sides). It was very, very tasty, crumbly and extremely large. The cheese was melty and wonderful but I wish there had been a little sauce of some kind and maybe a little more spice in the burger itself. The fries were on the dull side, bland and semi old and cold. We also shared some onion rings which were pretty tasty. The batter was crisp and not dripping in oil, but it could have done with a stronger flavour I think. We drank some house red, which was mediocre but helped, and at the end, although extremely full, we had some peppermint tea to forego the dessert. The tea comes with some pretty amazing little sweet treat and so dessert was definitely not needed. It's definitely a hidden little gem in Glasgow!

While football fans could be battering lumps out of each other little more than five minutes away, more sophisticated locals and those in the know are likely to be supping a mojito, enjoying authentic and delicious(although not cheap) Scottish grub and watching a Laurel and Hardy film in here. Were this pub situated in the West End it would probably be unbearable, but so inconspicuous is its location that it maintains an extremely laidback and friendly vibe. The staff, in particular, are excellent. Visitors would be well advised to order a taxi from here if they're leaving late at night, but that shouldn't put them off coming in the first place. This is a lovely venue with some of the best local food on the go. Oh, and if you combine it with a gig in the upstairs venue, you're talking about one of the best word of mouth nights out in the city.

I sat towards the back of the restaurant, kind of a tucked-in place, and looked over the menu. I went with the 8 ounce sirloin steak with pepper sauce, which came with Rosemary chips (fries), grilled tomatoes and mushrooms. The wait after placing the order was about 15 minutes. Everything was well cooked and seasoned and the waiter friendly in his interactions. I found the meal to be very tasty and filling. The decor was rustic and ambiance cool and laid back.

My partner had fish cake starter which looked and tasted lovely followed by peri peri burger. I had the amazing BBQ chicken wings the special cream of chicken pie, I was a little disappointed by the pie as it contained vast amounts of mustard grains which I detest. After our meal we stayed a while longer to enjoy a few drinks. Overall our service was amazing and meal of a reasonable price defo visit again
