Three levels of gym equipment meeting everyone's needs as well as a nice variety of exercise classes and a staff of personal trainers, and if that isn't enough, you can even get your tan on here and play golf! Lol yea, play golf! The health club now has a state of the art golf simulator where you can work on your game all winter or just have a fun round with friends! Jeramiah is always around and always making improvements to help meet the needs of the members!

We went to EMS, and they hooked us up with one of their guide/instructors on fairly short notice. It was a great day. And our guide/instructor, Derek, was terrific -- patient, good sense of humor, and enthusiastic. It was fun, and I felt like we covered a lot of material. A good experience. Highly recommended.

Stopped in to kill some time during a rainy camping trip to the Adirondacks. There wasn't anything…read moregoing on when we stopped but the staff was super friendly and let us walk around. There were several rooms set up like a museum with jerseys, medals, etc on display that were definitely cool to check out. That have a bobsled set up and a luge to check out as well. It's crazy to see how slim and narrow the bobsled is in real life-i can't believe they fit so many people in there! It was free to walk around and a nice way to spend some time on a rainy afternoon.

One horse, several times, backed into the bushes to scratch his butt taking the rider completely in the trees. Also it's back legs buckled & it dropped down to its knees with rider on & then popped back up! Another horse went so close to trees to scratch itself, that the rider's foot was close to getting stuck on tree as horse moved forward, over & over. Really a nerve racking experience. Did not enjoy it at all. Plus no bathroom!

I brought my two nieces (7 and 8 years old who had never ridden), but I hadn't told them where we were going and wanted them to have some time to get excited. We were greeted by all staff with smiles and the girls were given brushes to groom the two miniature ponies while we waited. Before our ride, the girls were given a short but thorough safety lesson and then we were off on the trail. Valerie had a lead on the first horse (Goldie) my older niece was riding, while my other niece followed on White Cloud and I was on Serena. Since the girls were a little nervous, we walked around many of the same trails which was perfect for their first ride. We had a wonderful time and were invited back the next day too! I went back with my sister and her three children (11 months, 3, and 4) and my 5 year old nephew. The kids were able to walk the miniatures (Casper and Blue Knight) around and we fed them carrots. We had a great time and will definitely return in the future!

This review is the third posted here and there was 1 each of one star and 5 stars. This gym is hardly a one star. It's definitely not a new golds gym or an iconic power house or world gym, but it is a really solid local gym. First off, this gym has a free weights room off by itself. (It also a machine room. The machine room is complete but just ok.). It has a power rack and smith press and the entire room is padded so you can do deadlifts almost anywhere. It has a small but complete locker room. Lockers, showers, changing area, showers. The machines are mismatched, but it's a mix of hammer strength plate loaders and cybex cables and machines. Any (and this gym included) gym with a hammer strength split leg leg press automatically gets 5 stars. This is a beautiful and rare piece of equipment. Room for improvement (kind of not picking really) -cybex machines are often belts -cardio equipment is dated and could be better variety (bike with full seat, old style elliptical) -lacks water bottle fill machine (does have fountain) -mirror situation for dumbbells and squat rack, but otherwise lacking

The boats are junk and the owners are very shady…read more I reserved a pontoon boat for two days and I was specifically assured that I would not be expected to take the boat out or pay in the event of rain. Day 1 was okay weather-wise, however the boat itself was dirty, all of the seats were ripped and the carpet became soaked through from the underside. I brought it back in because there was something clearly wrong with the way the motor was sputtering but I was told it sounded normal. Day 2 it rained all day and when I called to discuss this with someone, I was told then owners would need to call me back. I called back 3 more times throughout the day and never heard back from the owners, and of course they charged me full price for the rainy day. I eventually got my money back after going through a dispute process with my cc company. It was clear that the employee that helped me was frustrated and knew he worked for shady owners. I know there are not a lot of options on Lake Placid, but do yourself a favor and find a boat somewhere else. If it were possible to give zero stars, I would.
