This year-round destination for adventures and activities always has something for everyone! I've come here in both the summer and winter, and there are always plenty of fun things to do. Meandering through the caves and caverns is the main highlight in the summer (as well as spring and fall). All caves and caverns follow a structured path, and everything is clearly well marked. They also have mini golf, gemstone mining, hiking trails, and adventure playground for the warmer months. In the winter, it's great for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sauna. They have a nordic pro shop where you can purchase or rent equipment. The gift shop, which doubles as a small cafe selling hot drinks and snacks, also carries winter activity essentials, ranging from base layers to gloves and toques. All the staff are friendly and helpful. We rented their snowshoes, and they were of excellent quality (with spikes at the bottom to help crush ice, which became very helpful as the trails were quite icy that day). The snowshoe trails are mostly loops and very clearly well marked - it's impossible to get lost. read more

Lots of trails, but they really need to update their website! My kiddo was so excited for the train ride. But the day we went was on and off rain, and it turns out the train is battery/electric run so it does not operate unless the ground is completely dry. Wish we would have known this beforehand as the entry fee is kind of hefty if the one thing your kid was excited for didn't end up operating. They require closed toe hiking or running shoes to enter. The suspension bridge trail and the caves trail were really neat. If you have a toddler 2 or under you might need to carry them part of the caves trail as there are some tricky slippery spots. The suspension bridge trail is much easier and you get a great view from the bridge. The playground is big and fun. You can also buy fish food (25 cents) to feed the fish, though you're more likely to get gulls fighting over the fish food than to see any fish. We did see a big trout though which was neat! Besides the train not operating, and the kind of cold and wet weather, this would have been a great summer day activity. They let you bring your own food inside to have a picnic. And once you get your wristband you have in and out privileges all day which was nice. We wiuld have enjoyed this more if it was warmer and not raining. read more

We liked this privately maintained trails with many activities. In my experience, hiking or running shoes should be required as many areas could be a little steep, rocky, and slippery, especially the trail to the caves. + Trails are all nicely color coded, eg, Yellow sign to suspension bridge, blue to caves + wide trail, shaded mostly, some slopes - trails were and slightly challenging but we can see it was quite Difficult for a couple of seniors + I loved Nature's paradise loop in the Blue trail to the caves, it was very tranquil. However, some parts were a little Muddy and could be slippery + Enjoy gelato from the gif shop on white lawn chairs + Clean restrooms inside the shop + Train ride is set up for kids, but we jumped on this easy and mild ride to pretend we are kids again Tip: Zip line supposed to operate may-Oct, but Not open this year Tip: Trout pond, spend a quarter to buy some fish food, feed the trouts and ducks, it was a lot of fun and joy read more

I came here about two weeks ago just when the leaves were starting to change colours and it was so beautiful. The lookout on the suspension bridge and exploring the caves were definitely my favourite. It's a little pricy at about $35 after tax, however you can spend your entire day here and get your money's worth. This is a family business and I really appreciate how they have paved trails, handrails at the caves, and ropes to hold on to when there is a steep incline during the hike. The place is well maintained with labels everywhere (eg. beware of poison ivy, easy/hard route, etc) which stood out to me and also why I prefer coming here than to visit a national park sometimes. They also give you a map so you don't get lost and there's also a nice little lady that you'll meet along the way who will ask how you're doing and will give suggestions, come up with a custom trail plan based on your activity level as well as watching your baby strollers because you are not allowed to bring them!! There's a place to grab food and lots of places to sit and rest. There's also gemstone mining at an additional cost and a gift shop. The only downside for me is that the zip line and tree trek is closed off for the year. Really bad setup... they are limiting capacity to 75% of the parking lot, and if that is full when you arrive, it becomes a total game of chance (as opposed to waiting in some form of a line). Basically they wait until 15 cars leave, and then open it up for 15 more, so you need to be lucky enough to arrive during the time that they are letting in the batch of 15. Theres not a lot to do in the area as well (and its far from everything else) so you can't easily stick around and keep returning to try your luck. Given that this place is so far from Toronto (over 2hrs), it would've been much better if they just offered reservations online, where you know in advance if you are able to enter or not. We wasted a 4+hr round trip on this. read more

What a great fun adventure! We were staying at blue mountain resort and decided to come here to spend half day.. amazing decision! One ticket with lots to do.. we did the caves trail with 3 kids (12,9,5) and it was lots of fun and a unique adventure! The forest is beautiful the caves are a great adventure.. then we did the suspension bridge trail.. also fun and beautiful views. Kids played in the playground, we got some ice cream . Everything reasonably priced! You can get extra tickets for mini golf and gem stones mining.. I think this place is a must see if you are in the area:) read more

Very Enjoyable. I know you can go for a walk in a national park etc. for less, but I really enjoyed the carefully designed and maintained trails at Scenic Caves Nature Adventures. You can tell they really put some thought into their design: choosing appropriate trail cover (crushed stone, wood chip, etc.), placement of benches at the top of steep inclines and along the way on long ones, lots of metal handrails in the caverns to help you keep upright. What a pleasant place to close a few of your rings on your Apple Watch and get some healthy exercise. There were plenty of people in their 60's and 70's the day we went, and they seemed to be having a great time. Just pace yourself, and I think you will have a good walk. The caverns were the highlight of the trip for us. No doubt about it. Getting through it will probably be too challenging for those without good balance or poor ankles, but most people should have a good time traversing the challenging terrain and exploring the nooks and crannies. I imagine the dual zip line must be very fun. I have never really wanted to do one until I saw the one there. It looks like the ride will provide a spectacular view of the valley below, out towards Collingwood. It was closed the day I was there, but it interesting enough that it might draw me back for a second visit. My final verdict is that you should give the place a try if only once in your life. read more

What a great spot to utilize if you're up in the Blue Mountains. We stopped here to cross country ski/ snow shoe. The service is great, and there are plenty of trails to spend at least half of a day here. Complete with lookouts and access to a massive Suspension bridge, It was a great adventure. Rental prices aren't terrible. I suggest you bring your own. Also there is a little warming hut, and main lodge to take a break and have lunch if you wish. Decent look out points that span far as well. Close to the villages too! read more

We had a blast!!! I've heard so much about the scenic cave and the hanging bridge. The Hanging Bridge Do not expect much. It was a bit lame because; it's not scary as advertised and second, it's really short bridge walk. I've seen longer bridges in other places. This one was a tiny bridge, like a baby bridge. The Cave It's a very athletic activity. Your arthritis will act up. Intensely. It's good to experience though. You get to see 18 different points of interests (some of them sounds like a marketing gimmick but who cares). You start from the bottom of the cave up to the peak and down at the bottom. You will repeat this again after your adventure - to the parking lot. No handicap access. read more

I am writing this review based on the Eco Adventure Tour that I took with my boyfriend. I completely agree that the caves themselves are more or less a rip off because yes it is a neat place to go but, 1. It is a twenty-something fee to just enter the place 2. there are a total of two caves; fat mans misery and the ice cave Anywho, back to my review of the eco tour. In short we had a great time, we took the three hour tour that included a walking trail, the suspension bridge, two zip lines, tour of the caves and the tree top trek. Afterwards we were free to explore on our own for as long as we liked. My favorite was the tree top trek, so that is where my review will start: TREE TOP TREK: it is a little challenging at first (in my opinion at least) as you have to carefully put one foot in front of the other along thin planks and maneuver yourself with a pulley along the tree tops. This was my first time doing something like this and it was awesome! The view was great (check out my pictures) the staff were really friendly, letting me stay at the back because I wanted to take pictures and helpful when I was asking questions about how the trek was built. This part of the adventure would have been a 5/5 stars in my books. ZIP LINES X 2: The first zip line comes at the end of the tree top trek and is the method of transportation from the trees to the ground. It is a much smaller zip line then the other one at the end of the entire tour but still a blast. The second zip line was the longer one and it was a really great time. (a plus to this tour is that you will get to ride the longest twin zip in Canada "Thunderbird" for 15.00, a discounted price, if you choose to do so) There isn't much else to explain about the zip lines, the name is pretty self explanatory. This would have also been a 5/5 stars. THE SUSPENSION BRIDGE: This was built by archers over a protected forest, which I found pretty cool. It sways and moves as you walk but no worries it would need an insane amount of weight in order to fall. The view is fantastic, we were here in the spring but the fall would probably be breathtaking. The bridge itself I thought was really cool but the fact that I was charged money to see this, seems odd to me. 3/5 stars for the suspension bridge. THE TOUR OF THE CAVES: Um. No. This was not even a tour, yes there was a little explanation about certain aspects of this area and a mini history lesson about the native tribes who lived in this area, which I liked. However, you are not allowed to explore the caves and we spent probably all of ten minutes down here. 2/5 stars for the caves. THE WALKING TOUR: This was nice, we got to see and learn a little more about the land, enjoyed some very awesome views and got to know the area better. Yes, I am a nerd and I love learning new things so I really enjoyed this. I am also a nature enthusiast so learning about the different animals and foliage in the area was fascinating. If this is not your thing don't worry it is a walking excursion from point A to point B that takes a small amount of time. In conclusion, the tree top trek and zip lining is really what the Eco Adventure tour is all about. The staff are friendly and know a lot about their jobs, willing to answer questions and speak one on one during the tour. I paid 95.00 a person and while I did have a good time, I cannot help but feel as if the caves themselves took away from the experience. This is an expensive place but the views are spectacular and that is why I would pay to go the Scenic Caves again. read more

My husband and I visited the Scenic Caves this past weekend as part of our anniversary weekend. For $96 tax included you get a fantastic package. First you get hooked up to all of your equipment including everything you will need to keep you safe. You get a walking tour through multiple parts of the mountains and scenery. The suspension bridge is very interesting, it sways if multiple people are on it, but you are completely and totally safe. We then get taken on a tractor ride up and around the scenery until we get to the treetop trekking. The treetop trekking is incredible! Basically you are walking on a very thin plank and manoeuvring between trees.. it's very cool and heart stopping. Once you've reached the end of the line you get to zip line 300ft back down to the ground. Which is fantastic! Once you reach the ground you've given some water and a granola bar which is really nice because by the time I was done that part of the tour I was wiped! Then we got back on the tractor and got taken up to the caves, got a bit of a history lesson about the area which was really neat. We then walked through the caves which really is only two caves. I was a bit disappointed that we didn't spend more then 10-15 minutes here as it seemed like it was rushed. Once we finished walking through the caves we went down the 1000ft zipline to the bottom which was really incredible. Overall the tour was pretty neat, Our guides Taylor and Tiffany were very friendly and knowledgeable. They made our tour a lot of fun and I would recommend them to anyone who takes the tour! The only thing I was disappointed in was that there is no option for photographs. On previous zipline tours there has always been a photographer who takes photos of everyone, but on this tour, you can bring your own camera along, but it's kind of hard to take photos of yourself ziplining... read more

A decent spot for some outdoor activities to kill a couple of hours. Probably overpriced for what it is, but I suppose being a privately run business they can price what they want since people come here due to the lack of other things to do in the area during warm weather. The "Value" pack is $28 per adult and includes access to the "scenic caves" and hiking paths, the suspension bridge, and 1 round of mini golf. The caves and hiking paths were okay. They are all pretty easy to deal with, although there were really only a small handful of actual caves. Plus the one cave "Fat Man's Misery" resulted in someone in a group ahead of us getting stuck in the cave area and a big log jam of people getting stuck in the cave not moving for over 20 minutes. The hiking paths are pretty short too. There are some decent views along the way though, although most of them all look the same. I've definitely done better hiking and seen better views for less money, but this seems to be as good as it gets for the Blue Mountain area. Another issue was the lack of parking. We had to park at an extra parking lot down the road and there was practically no signage pointing you on the path how to get to the Scenic Caves gates. Lastly, the mini golf is terrible. Without being included in the "Value Package" it's only $4 for an adult to play a round, but I don't think it's even worth that much. The course is in terrible shape with the green astroturf well aged and ragged. This seems like a good place to take kids when you want low-impact outdoor activities. For the serious hiker or adventure seeker, I'd probably recommend going somewhere else. read more

Awesome adventure park with treetop trekking, ziplining, and caves. Its also a great spot for kids as it has a great playground, train ride, and wagon ride. The trails were well kept, they have a good gift shop, and great views. The ziplining is supposed to be the longest in Canada and we absolutely loved it. read more

This place is absolutely gorgeous. The scenery to Scenic Caves is breathtakingly beautiful and makes you realize why the village nearby is called The Blue Mountain. The entry pass allows you entry to the area and scenic caves. You can bypass the caves and hike to zipline or check out the caves first. The hike is good. Loved the zipline experience because I could control the speed. The view from zipline was gorgeous. Make sure to head there as early as possible. There are limited parking spots. We unfortunately reached by 3.30pm so we had to circle the place for good ten mins to be able to park our car. If you are there for ziplining be sure to check their website for hours. Each season has different opening and closing hours so make sure you follow the schedule. After reaching the zipline area there is approx 2 min wait per person including those who are currently inside for gear and training and those who are in line. All in all it was an amazing experience to visit the caves. The prices were bit on higher side but it was well worth read more

This place does not care for your safety! Last year, my friend and her 5 year-old daughter got stuck in the washroom for 1.5 hrs, and didn't end up going down to the caves. So this summer, we decided to give it a second chance. The parking lot was full, and they didn't even let me in to drop off the kids (extra parking is 1km away). They told me I have to drop off the kids on the side of the road, which is not safe, on that hill where other cars are going by fast! There are plenty of other things to do in this area, and you don't deserve our money! read more

I visited this location a few weeks ago with a group to Zipline and explore the caves. The scenes were beautiful and visiting and getting our tickets was virtually hassle free. The adventure park itself is reasonably priced and is maintained beautifully. Everything at this park is about safety and keeping things clean and the way you found them when you visited. The only thing that turned me off and kept me from rating this place any higher than a 3 was the staff. From beginning to end, whether it was at the ticket booth, the ziplining station or finishing at the gift shop, I felt like we were nothing but a pain in the ass to the staff. They were abrasive, curt and even huffed at times. Handing in our waivers and tickets seemed like a huge annoyance to the girls working the desk as did putting on our gear to go ziplining. I was the last person in our group to Zipline down and heard the staff from the Zipline house SCREAM into the walkie talkie to the crew taking my gear that they were DOoOOOoOONE and so happy to be getting out of there. Even the girl taking our gear seemed annoyed and just "over it". Overall, a fun experience because I was with a group of ladies who had a great time and great energy and the views and price were great. I just wish the staff weren't such jerks. read more

When you're a little person, you're often restricted from fun, adventurous activities due to safety regulations and whatnot. Consequently, amusement parks are usually not as fun for me as they are for my friends. Although I didn't meet the 4'8" height requirement for the Eco Adventure Tour, I read on the website that those who are not tall enough can go on the tour if they have someone who can reach 6' high with them. I called the information line to make sure it was okay for me to go and then made my reservations. After getting harnessed and going through introductions, we walked across the suspension bridge. The views from both the suspension bridge and the lookout points on this tour are breathtaking. On a great day supposedly, you have a 10 km view from the bridge. The treetop walk was a thrilling experience; we walked on wooden planks as high as 50 feet above the ground. This is also where I came into some difficulty, and it's the reason why the height requirement exists for the tour. Due to my height, I needed help clipping and un-clipping myself from the cables when moving between the trees. I also had some difficulty walking through some parts because my harness cable was too short and there was some restraint. However, I was able to make it through the whole route, and a guide was there behind my friends and I in case we needed assistance. There are two zip-lines in the tour, a 300-feet one in the forest, and a 1000-feet one that brings you back to the front of the park. Both of these lines provided exhilarating experiences. The tour also includes rides on a tractor trailer through the woods and a tour of the caves. After you're done the tour, I recommend also checking out the caves that are not in the tour and attempting to go through Fat Man's Misery. Conquering Fat Man's Misery was definitely an ego-booster! The cost of the tour is a bit pricey, but it is all worth it. The tour guides were knowledgeable and super-friendly, and this tour was an amazing experience. Zip-lining was on my bucket list of things to do, and I'm glad I was able to cross it off with my trip to Scenic Caves! I'm also glad my height didn't stop me from being able to have this adventure. I want to eventually try the Thunderbird Twin Zip-line, so I will be back one day! read more

This was an okay hiking trip. We just did the caves and the suspension bridge. Honestly the bridge was super fun and the caves were so not worth it. To be fair, it is more the fault of the other visitors than the actual caves. The most narrow point is 36 cm, and people who clearly could not make that point would go in, get stuck and then create a backlog. It took us practically 2 hours to get to the start of the cave pass, and then someone got stuck so we had to exit and just walk around the cave. At which point we realized how short that whole thing was and how much time we had wasted. Plus the caves were freeeeeeeeeeeeeezing. It's still a nice place to visit, but I would not get too excited about caves in regards to this place. read more

We went on the Eco Tours that they provided for the scenic caves. The area itself was quite cool and very relaxing. There was a play area with playgrounds, a smaller train traveling around with people around the main complex, a nice little lake, and a miniature golf course. We had some nice pictures in this area. As for the tour itself, it was fun, exciting, and the staff was very friendly. On our Eco tour, the tour guide walked us through the suspension bridge and gave us a little history. The view from the bridge was quite spectacular, and walking across the wobbly bridge was a little scary. Next we were pulled in a seated tractor cart up to the walk on the tree tops. We were fully geared for it, and it was a little scary walking from tree to tree on what looks like 8 inch wooden planks. We had a blast. After that, we had a 330 feet zip line. A little shock at first, but oh so much fun! Everyone on the tour was just beaming with excitiement. We were tractored to the caves next. Well, it was more walking through 2 sides full of ancient rock cliffs, but it was nice to see. After all this, it was capped off with a 1000 feet zip line back to the main complex. The staff was great. The tour was fun. Everyone had a blast. It was well worth the price of the tour. read more

I'll caveat my review by disclosing that I went to Scenic Caves simply for the views from the suspension bridge. I had family in town and wanted to take them to see the beautiful fall foliage that Ontario has to offer. So we drove the two hours north to Collingwood to see the sights. We arrived at Scenic Caves and, as we were buying our tickets, were told that we weren't wearing tennis/running shoes, and therefore couldn't cross the bridge. After a little wrangling, they realized we weren't trying to get onto the trails, and they let us in, by which I mean they let us pay $24.50 each to cross a 400 ft bridge. Speaking of cost, Scenic Caves isn't cheap, at least not if you just want to cross the bridge. And, naturally, they don't have a fee just for crossing the bridge. Be prepared to break out your wallet. And, oh by the way, you better wear your trainers, too. The bridge is about a ten minute walk from the main area and they have a tractor that will take you down. If you can only take it one way, take it back up, because it's a pretty steep climb back up if you miss the tractor. They give you a little history and basically tell you that you're as high as the eiffel tower. Not sure if that's really true, as I've been to le tour eiffel, but whatev. The bridge crossing was anti-climactic. It was short and, while the views of the Georgian Bay are pretty awesome, I'm guessing there are other places that are probably gratis where I could have seen the same thing. If you're in the Collingwood area for a visit to Blue Mountain, this would be a nice add-on; trust me and don't plan a trip specifically to cross a bridge. read more

Scenic Caves! This place is great for families and small children. It's like an introduction to hiking for 10 year olds. If you are an outdoor enthusiast you may want to just hike the Bruce or Hockley nearby and skip the visit here unless you are here with your kids. It's insanely busy. It's a mix of tourist families and beach partiers taking a break from beer bongs and dancing to LMFAO. It's like what I imagine Marineland to be... but replace dolphins and sea mammals with scenic caves, and instead of the Skyscreamer, you'll want to ride the Zipline over and over again...everyone loves... oh wait a minute. Anyways, there's not much athletic about this park. It's a fun place to walk through that's green with some cool views of Collingwood, Georgian Bay and the forest. Everything is easily marked and very walkable. There are walking trails with woodchips and guardrails and steps. A few of the caves are neat. Fat Man's Misery was fun to squeeze through... you just have to line up for about 20 minutes behind some climbing and yelling kids. The suspension bridge is a short walk from the entrance. It's fun to walk across because it's sways a little and I liked the view... but it's not overly exciting. After completing your 2 hour walk that you paid 22 bucks for, you can get overpriced soft serve near the entrance! =D I'm glad I checked this place out, and I'd return one day with kids (maybe). Also, they are motorcycle friendly (other than the gravel parking lot) and they will let you store your helmet and gear at the ticket office. This tour was so much fun!!! It is a little far out of the city, 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. But once you get there it's worth it. It's at the base of Blue Mountain so lots of nature and beautiful scenery. We road trip our way up there and once we arrive we were greeted warmly by the front desk staff and after payments and waivers were done they explained all our options for the day. We decided to explore some of the caves and hike before it was time for our zip lining and tree trekking portion. The trails were fun, different terrains and it brings you through caves (temperature really dips because there is water running underneath the ground) and forest area. I'd recommend the Fat Man's Misery, an extremely small space (most narrow point if only 14') and you have to shoulder your way through the cave with technique. There's also a lot of history (some was explained during our tour) showcased on little signs around the area about the indigenous people who used to reside there. Finally after a quick workout, we headed back to the main cabin where we put on our gear with our experienced guides Nicole and Kayla helping us. They were both professional, yet friendly and approachable. I felt safe with them guiding us. There wasn't a lot of walking since they drove us up the mountain in a tractor. The tree trekking was a bit scary but fun. We had some training on the ground which was much appreciated. The guides were in the front and following behind so we felt safe. The zip lining was exhilarating, I'm scared of heights but honestly their frequent checks of our harnesses every time we were about to jump was reassuring. We have 2 zip lines and could have paid $10 for another one. It was really fun and I'd recommend it even for those non-dare devils, it's just great views and thrill. the suspension bridge is also worth a visit, beautiful history and views of the Georgian Bay. read more

I don't normally do this kind of tour, but a family member wanted to go, so I agreed. We had a great time on the full tour. Suspension bridge, tree walking and zip line. The caves were blocked by a rock that had just fallen (I heard the radio alert from the tree tops!), but I had seen the caves on a previous self-guided visit, and I was okay with skipping the hazard. Gord and Alex were great tour guides. They told us about the area, the history and kept us safe. There was no judgement when my mom decided last minute to not do the second zip line - very professional. Great work. read more

There are no caves.... What you will find is a gorge that you can walk through and slippery rocks. It's a free-for-all for you to discover. Safety is at times questionable. The bridge is amazing. Quite an adventure and the highlight of the 2 hours. But twenty-some dollars to just walk around on your own...I'll let you determine if it is worth it. read more

Still waiting to see caves. Don't get mislead by the name of the place there are no caves here. There are crevasses that you walk through between towering walls of rock. The closest thing they have to a cave is one that is about 10 feet long that they call the refridgerator. There are nice trails and it is fun to walk amongst the cliffs. The view from top is amazing. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! These are not even caves! There is one tiny crevice in the rock that they call a cave. The walk is scenic but there are plenty of scenic and beautiful free walks in the area. There are way better look out points in the area as well. Complete tourist trap! We had an amazing tour with Gord and Emma! We did the eco adventure tour which included tree top trekking, 2 ziplines and a walk across the suspension bridge. This is a first rate operation. Highly recommended. It is worth the price of admission. read more

We bought snow shoes this year hoping to use them at home ... but so little snow it was a no go. So we were up at Blue Mountain for a few days ... again not much snow there except on the slopes. Then someone told us of Scenic Caves for snowshoeing. We went out there and even though there had been rain a couple of days earlier, the conditions were still mostly good. I loved the feel of the reception area with a little snack bar, wood stoves, benches, etc. It was really homey feeling. The staff were incredibly friendly. When we paid our trail fee, we got $5 off each because they said the conditions were not optimal. But we found the snowshoe trails were still quite good. There's lots of options for trails. And going over the amazing suspension bridge was a treat. If we are up at Blue in the summer, we would definitely check this place out for hiking as well. If you are in a decent shape is a good place to go. Lot of walking and climbing. View is fantastic and the staff was really helpful. We paid $100 for a family of 4 with 2 children under 10. The price includes the use of the washroom that looks exactly like a public one in a road of a 3rd world country and the wait time was 25 minutes because there is only 2 toilets for females. Top notch cross-country skiing. Well maintained trails for classic and skate through spectacular old growth forest. Diversity of terrain from short steep climbs/descents to gentle rolling and flat. These trails are at the top of the highest part of the Niagara escarpment, with several vistas of Georgian Bay and Collingwood. Highly recommended. read more
