Meandering through the caves and caverns is the main highlight in the summer (as well as spring and fall). All caves and caverns follow a structured path, and everything is clearly well marked. They also have mini golf, gemstone mining, hiking trails, and adventure playground for the warmer months. In the winter, it's great for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sauna. They have a nordic pro shop where you can purchase or rent equipment. The gift shop, which doubles as a small cafe selling hot drinks and snacks, also carries winter activity essentials, ranging from base layers to gloves and toques. All the staff are friendly and helpful. We rented their snowshoes, and they were of excellent quality (with spikes at the bottom to help crush ice, which became very helpful as the trails were quite icy that day). The snowshoe trails are mostly loops and very clearly well marked - it's impossible to get lost.

The unique shops, and cozy atmosphere make it an ideal destination for relaxation and recreation. During my visit, I enjoyed exploring the village, taking in the scenic views, and indulging in the local cuisine. The amenities, including restaurants, cafes, and bars, were great. After that you are instructed to start on the easiest courses and work your way through. What is not disclosed is that you have to sign an additional waiver when your inside (aside from the one on arrival). The odd thing is that it is just a notebook and the student employees just ask you did you do all the other courses before attempt the most advanced course. It's pretty loosey goosey, instead of this system a stamp system should be used or a passport system because if they are using this for liability is a signature request under duress (is what I understand from my legal eagle knowledge). Considering the risk, I would say more needs to be done. The whole course are supervised and the summer hired students are trained to radio each other when a new person is going on the course. The two customer limit on platform are loosely reinforced. I did find that some of the platforms were short on the landing for the mini zipline sections. And on the course the student hires warned us it's slippery because it was wet. Perhaps add some slip grips just because you're flying in at high speed into the landing in some cases (especially when you're pretty large). Good things is that if you wanted the zipline experience you get it through the whole course. You can get away with just paying for the whole course. If you're a parent you may want to go in and just have a look how things are run before putting your kids through the track for the peace of mind. The other thing is that you also want to have a telephoto lens on your slr if you're watching from the ground or hookup your child with a go pro for the fun of watching later. Overall difficulty was intermediate. I think to level up try the course without holding on anything. This was my first time doing this. I would have preferred more physical challenges on the course. There are washrooms behind the sign in cabin. Two toilets in the female. But if you want cleaner go back to the resort. So I rated this four star for the following reason. 1. Price point is steep on a single visit, even with coupons. Season pass may be better; 2. The course liability on-site could be better, I just wonder what happened if there was an accident and if the location did enough to protect customers; 3. The course is full of student employees, surely trained well. But considering young kids on the course a few adult staff would make it feel safer. There were times when I know none if the staff we watching me because I was sloppy on the security straps-without realizing until my date warned me (thanks); 4. Washrooms are not clean on the premise of the trekking. Go to horseshoe resort.

I didn't do enough research myself and brought more stuff than required. The only real stuff u need would be food and drinks (booze) and also if u want cream in your coffee. Everything else u need to provided. My brother was super psyched because fire starters, kindling and tons of wood is available. U can start the fire outside or inside. They have 4 chairs provided outside but I brought my own as well. Everything else u can research. Such as the sauna or horseback riding. Would be 5 stars if there were more options on stuff to do or eat. But overall it's a wonderful experience and would recommend for sure.

They showed us a trail, the sauna, and gave us a little orientation in our dome as to how to operate everything. It was so cute and cozy in there. The kitchenette is great and has everything you need. I was worried I wouldn't be warm enough but the temperature was great and I was even hot in the middle of the night. They are available 24 hrs and respond quickly via text if you need anything.

This is a review for day-use only, as the park is actually closed for camping during this time of…read morethe year. There are a couple of day-use lots on the outside of the actual park for locals to use, I don't believe you can drive into the park proper to use it for day use. At the time we visited, Orillia was close to peak color, so it was a fantastic time. It was a nice day for a hike, and there were quite a few other people using the park as well -- there's a little beach area in the day use part as well as a playground and places for taking your dog on leash. We went and followed the trails in the park, there seems to be a few that can be used, one in the treeline and one along the lake. You can make a decent little loop of a couple of kilometers. There's nothing incredibly challenging about this little hike, to be honest, but the tree colors make for some gorgeous photos. I'll definitely want to come back and visit here and go camping during the season. A really lovely provincial park!
