This is a fun place to shop at inside Columbia Mall and one of the only big sports stores in Grand Forks North Dakota. There is Ginna's cafe inside and video games and a shooting game inside Scheels among the sporting goods. Lots of items and sales. It's a huge store and great to get your steps in or go to the mall right outside the indoor mall. Parking lot is huge and you will never not have a good spot. read more

Stopped in for the first time. I was very impressed with all the options of sporting goods they had. Down in the South we have Academy and I think Scheels might be a little better for the variety. I do like the quick grab n go cafe idea. Reminds me of Ikea. Also, since the foot court is lacking in the mall this is a nice convenient right by the entrance option for a snack. Moose Out read more

Ordered a 7 ft one piece fishing rod from here, only saw it in stock at Scheel's and one other outlet. Was nervous how the process would be as I was shipping to the East Coast but I'm happy I ordered from these guys. Package came a day earlier than expected and product was in fine shape. They had to curve the rod tip slightly to fit in the box but had no effect on the product condition. I would not hesitate to order from them again in the future. read more

All the employees are wearing face masks to protect the customers, but very few customers give a flying CRAP about protecting the employees, as well as the few customers who do decide to wear one. Yeah!! I love to write nice, happy reviews on yelp. Love it! Ok, so I went to Scheel's today to get my lovely 1981 Raleigh Tourist DL bike fixed. I used to do all the repairs myself when I was a young'un and lived in New York City - but I digress. The gear shift cable was stretched and I didn't know how to fix it and the bike repair man totally did it up, ordered me a new cable and was really helpful and honest. Cost: $4.99, plus tax. Friends - in my experience honesty and quality are often priced reasonably because along with those qualities also often comes modesty. Great virtues!! Anyway, this store has every thing for every one. Guns, darts, balls of all shapes and sizes, bowling equipment, biking, hiking, canoeing and any other possible sport related item plus! fantastic clothes for men, women and children. Ladies, you will look great in these awesome sports clothes. And, did I say they have Olukai shoes! Such a rare find anywhere, but out here on the prairie? And, while you are waiting for your spouse you can play all sorts of neat games scattered around the store. This store was referred to me by the UND athletic center because they have all their bikes repaired and maintained here. And did I mention they have a great restaurant and homemade fudge? Scheels has the best service! I called to ask if they had a product. The gentleman in the Archery department said they had what I needed. Then he went above and beyond and asked me if I wanted to pick it up at customer service so I didn't have to go all the way back to the department. Best customer service ever!! read more

Underrated food for adults. My Italiano sandwich was really good. The fudge is out of this world. The kids pizza became a hockey puck after a few minutes so that was a negative. I like the place though and will go back. read more

I think this maybe the only decent sporting goods place in GF. They have a pretty decent selection, although I wish they had a larger selection of women's gear & maybe a little bigger selection of running shoes. They have great sales on apparel & the sales people are super nice. Pretty good selection of UND gear, however I haven't seen any good stuff on sale of these items. I heard they are going to be moving to a bigger location, so I hope that means they will have more goods for women & not just expand the hunting/fishing section. read more

Brooks Shoes There is always an issue when trying to find a shoe that fits you for your needs. I always had an issue myself. Lately I have found these pair of shoes called Brooks. I have been using them for everyday events along with my daily exercise, I've have found that the best arch support has been embedded into them. They have been keeping me going without aches in my legs or pains in my back, which is a key problem in finding the right shoes, These shoes are lightweight and supportive, very comfortable, These are reliable for anyone who likes cushion. These Brooks have mesh vents along the sides of the shoe like Asics and Nike runners, so they may not be good for running in the wet and cold or a muddy trail, but they are excellent for dry conditions, lightweight gym use, and distance/endurance running. The treadmill use of these have been okay they tear up over time and seems to throw off the balance of them. Same with heavy weight lifting. The shoe's mesh will stretch over time, which will make running in them uncomfortable. So I don't recommend lifting in them a whole lot. After I have put some miles in these shoes, I found out that they seem to loosen up along the sides and I can't seem to get them nice and tight like you'd want. I have put about 300-400 miles into them they've worked great since the beginning. I highly recommend replacing them once you've put some blood and sweat in them. If you decide to buy a pair, I suggest you try them on in your local sporting good store to get the right fitting. The price on these are about the same as your Nike and Asics. The price ranges from 70$-200$ but is well worth it. If you want a reliable comfortable shoe you have to pay for for what your needs desire. I have tried all sorts of different kinds of shoes, and couldn't find the right arch support or the right fitting. Once I found these here Brooks, I haven't had any of the other shoes to come close to matching them. For my personal opinion I wouldn't choose any other shoe than these Brooks. read more

I went into Scheel's today in search of some questions regarding a purchase I had made at the beginning of the month that had become damaged due to a product i had bought there that came with the shoes. To my surprise, the kindness of the salesman, Jamie, was wonderful. He marked the shoes I had purchased as "defective" and gave me a completely brand new pair! Mind you, these shoes are very expensive and I did not even have a receipt that proved i was telling the truth.
