We hired Lakeside Construction Group as our contractor on a kitchen & bath remodel, down to the…read morestuds with all new electrical & plumbing on a home built in 1951. Rob (the contractor) did a phenomenal job communicating. He provided expectations and met them. We had some surprises after demolition but without skipping a beat, we stayed on project timeline and they knew how to resolve it and move forward. If they weren't doing the work themselves, they knew the best teams in the area for electrical, plumbing, tile, etc. People warned me about contractors and poor communication, but not these guys. Also, if someone is going to be in your home for 8 weeks - you want to be able to trust them. I would recommend Rob, Kurt & Crew to anyone looking for professional, timely, knowledgable and kind people to get the job done. Additionally, while they were here - they did some handy-work items (install some shelves, mirrors, etc), I know I can rely on them for anything moving forward. We'll definitely bring back the team as we update our 70 year home. Thanks Lakeside! - Shannon & Greg (photos are first the finished project and then the before photos)

After approx 15+ yrs w/Lakeside, we're DONE. This company has become awful. They installed our…read moreirrigation system & for years, everything was ok: they added a few sprinklers over the years, everything ok (prices escalating, but ok . . .). During a service call last year, they said a nozzle needed replacing, & I was billed over $30 for the part. They said they replaced the entire sprinkler, which clearly HADN'T been replaced. I called to inquire - no response. At the subsequent seasonal shutoff, I brought it up again. The tech looked at the sprinkler & agreed - it didn't look new, they must've confused the replacement of the nozzle with the entire sprinkler unit - apologized & said he'd fix it when he got back to the office. Nothing. I told him the nozzle is about a $2-3 part at Lowe's, an while I understand they're in business to make a profit - I didn't expect the same price I'd get at Lowe's - but over $30 for that part (10 times the retail cost) on a "free" mid season service call was a bit ridiculous. He nodded in agreement, but no action. This year, they sent two young guys in a truck for the "free" mid season service call. I told them I'd replaced a couple damaged units but was unable to get the spray radius adjusted properly. The response: 'well, you need the RainBird screwdriver to do that, & we don't have one - you can't use a regular screwdriver' (which is true). Two guys, a truck, and you don't bring the pocket-sized tool you're going to need for 90-plus percent of your jobs/adjustments. Are you stupid, lazy or both? They were clearly surprised when I told them "No problem, I have one." Then in condescending tone, they replied "No, not a regular screwdriver, the RainBird one - the green one." Even more surprise when I said "Right, I have it" & produced the tool. So they adjusted one properly, one improperly & told me "You have three leaking sprinklers that need replacing. It going to be $240 (I think this was the number). They were going to do some "further adjustments - at no charge"when I stopped them, & very politely told them about my dissatisfaction from last year, and $240 for what's promoted as a 'free' mid season checkup - especially when I'd recently closely checked the sprinklers in question & not noticed any signs of a leak - didn't feel quite right. I said in perfectly friendly tone "Look, I'm not upset with you guys - this isn't about you - but this is like the company's second strike, so I'll pass on the leaking sprinklers." Well, the tenor changed instantly: no more 'free further adjustments'. They said ok & abruptly left. No "Well,we regret you experience' or 'How can we make this better for you . . .(I.e. how can we save your business . . .)." They couldn't have cared less. And the leaking sprinklers? Uhh, no. Totally dry the next day (I've had a few leaks before - there's always residual dripping or water collecting in the proximity of the sprinkler - mine were bone dry. The 'free mid-season checkup' is a scam: like a car dealer promoting a FREE service checkup on a perfectly running vehicle that miraculously winds up costing $2,000 by the time you leave the dealership. Lakeside hasn't gotten the business school memo about "long term customers are your lowest cost source of revenue - no advertising, no promotional expenses . . . They'll even promote your business for you" or in this case, warn potential customers to steer clear of your business - there are plenty of alternatives. POSTSCRIPT: The company's president called me when he became aware of this review, he contacted me - couldn't have been nicer. Offered to come to our house to check the system or refund . . . Everything a company with an interest in keeping a long- term customer could possibly do to hold on to them, including getting rid of the problem employee. So kudos to them; I'd have reconsidered & probably stayed with them, but I'd already found & committed to another irrigation service provider.
