The class was mixed ability and there were always variations. I think pretty much any level could participate. There was always a fun atmosphere and people tended to cheer each other on. I'd love to have kept going but the cost is just way too high. Tonight was the last class of the month and as we left people were split into "I'm coming back" and "I'd love to come back but I can't afford it". I think every single person would have renewed if the pricing was more reasonable. Class and instructor quality? 5 stars, bonus star for making me do burpees without whining and :-) Bringing your own dumbbells :-( Guilt over the price -2 Overall 4ish.

We have been with Westbrook Montessori for 2 1/2 years, and it's been a wonderful experience for…read moreboth of our children. The school has a warm family feel, so our children adjusted very easily. The teachers are great, and work closely with the students to help them achieve their full potential. My daughter graduated from the Casa (senior kindergarten) program in June, reading at a grade 2 level and had been introduced to grade 3 mathematics concepts. In September, she entered into a grade one French immersion program. Because Westbrook also introduces the kids to French, it has been a very easy transition for her. She took with her the drive for learning, and has progressed to reading chapter books, and writing her own stories. My son, loves Westbrook and shows a very keen interest in school. At 3, he's already recognizing short words, and enjoys books and counting. His learning style is very different from his sister's, but the teachers work with him in a way that works for him. Because it's a family oriented school, the Principal there, is very open and fair with the students and parents. As a parent, there's nothing like sending your to school knowing that they are safe and happy. My husband and I have been extremely happy with Westbrook, and always recommend it to friends and family who are looking for a great school for their children.

I signed up for Beginner's Acrobatics with about 6 weeks left in the session, and from the first class I loved it. Each class has a maximum of six students per instructor, which is a great ratio. And for something so specialized and with such small classes, the price is great - only about $15 per class. The main draw for me though is that it's fun, and it's a great workout that's over before you know it. The hour goes by so quickly, because you enjoy what you're doing, rather than running on a treadmill watching the minutes tick by. It's also rewarding because you can easily measure the difference between where you were at the beginning and where you are now. The first time I felt like my cartwheel didn't look like a drunken four year old was an amazing feeling. As was the first time I managed to balance on just my head and my hands. Heather is a great instructor and she really helps by breaking down each move. Sure, I can't do a handstand yet, but I'm working on building the muscle, balance and confidence to ensure that I'll probably be able to in the winter session. All in all, they're a great workout class that I just love and I can't wait for the winter session to begin!

Circus class involves training on one of the following appartuses: hoop, silks or trapeze. These classes are so much fun and offer a great alternative to the same old work out routine at the gym. They are very fun, challenging, help to improve strength, flexibility, and endurance. Drop in for a break dance class or for partner acro, or a silks lesson=), or have a birthday party there! This is a great way to get into capoeira since they start you off with the very basics at a manageable pace. The instructors are fantastic and are very good at helping everyone participate and learn the moves. The Intro class runs for 4 week, twice a week on Tuesday and Thursdays, after which students naturally progress into the beginners class with the rest of the students. Their hours are very flexible with classes running 5 days a week, with Maculele dance and music classes on Saturdays. I really love that in almost every class we get to learn all the facets of capoeira from the moves, to the music, the singing and the dancing. Not to mention the crazy workout you get doing it all. I don't think I've ever sweat as much in my life! The facility is very well equipped with everything that's needed to learn capoeira: A large studio, all the pads, mats and equipment, lots of musical instruments and fantastic teachers. As a parent I sat and watched the class in the nice open dojo (not like some of the other dojos we visited where parents are kept behind glass, or worse - not allowed to watch at all!) and was really impressed with the varied, challenging, and fun exercises he was doing. The children's instructors at this dojo are really quite genius at getting the kids involved, keeping them engaged, and teaching respect and discipline. After a year we noticed a big difference in my son - he was more focused at home and at school (yes, even at only six years of age!) and he was always ready to go to karate. After watching on the sidelines for a couple years I finally decided it was time to join the dojo myself. I can tell you that this is not a McDojo. The head instructor, Sensei Tetsuji Nakamura, is the chief instructor of the International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karatedo Federation (I.O.G.K.F.) and holds a seventh degree black belt. Other instructors are similarly highly ranked and they have truly earned their positions. This is a place where you work hard to move up the ranks... don't expect a black belt in one year! However, it is also a friendly and welcoming place where there is a real sense of community. I have been a student at Shudokan for six years now and have loved every minute of it!

You can always book make up classes easily, they're very flexible, and there's many different open gym times. My favourite part about it is that it's SUPER clean. Like almost hospital level clean, the cleanest place I've been to in all of the GTA.

I felt his lack of discipline for his own club was unprofessional: I have studying this style for many of years (in my young age) and would never disrespect the class, sensei or other students.. Parents would show up late for class and have their kids get undress right in front in the foyer - yes the club is small .. but there is a start time to class. It almost felt like a daycare drop off for the parents in the area.. and sensei wouldn't say anything to the parents.. (back in my day our sensei 1. Would have made us do 25 laps around the dojo & 2. Would tell parents "class start at this time don't interrupt the class again or don't come to class" - abit harsh but I was late once had to do laps in front of everyone and was never late again..) I mean for every kid that is late and interrupting the class 4-5 times how is that fair on those kids who arrive on time and ready to start. Also for the adult class I felt his club is great for older adults who need easy going classes. As for price point it seems very reasonable for what he is offering..
