We stopped in at Schleicher's for lunch on a Tuesday. The owner Mary Jo brought our menus and gave us a little history of the restaurant. She and her chef/husband Larry have had the place for 32 years and are hoping to sell soon so they can retire. Schleicher's is open 11 am - 7 pm Tuesday - Sunday. Their pork tenderloin sandwiches, sweet potato fries, onion rings, fried mushrooms, hand-pattied burgers, and pizzas are some of the favorites. We had breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches, fried cauliflower, and sweet potato fries. The pork is pounded and hand breaded and cooked to perfection! We had to trim the tenderloin so it would fit the bun. The sweet potato fries are tossed in some magic dust and served with honey mustard. Perfect combo!!! Pretty basic bar food. It is more of a restaurant than a bar, lots of seating including larger tables and six or so booths. We were there Saturday at noon snd there was one couple in when we entered and one when we left so not overly busy. Like I said menu is basic bar food. Wife got chicken strips snd fries which were all right. I had bbq sand which and it was overly microwaved do the meat was a little hard. I think the chili was made there and seemed fresher. Fantastic food and large portions and very reasonable prices, but the service was a bit slow. The waitress was very nice, the food did come all out at the same time, which was nice, but she did forget the steak sauce. It's definitely a slow mom and pop restaurant don't expect your food to come out fast. For those of you who are use to fast pace restaurants. read more

Stopped in wanting to try something new. We had a burger, wings, fries and sweet potato fries. Overall it was good. The prices were a little higher than indicated here depending on what you get. Wings were $10.50 and they were just ok. Tasted like they were probably frozen rather than fresh. The sweet potato fries were awesome. Serving was a little small for $4.50. Tossed between 4 and 5 stars. This place is very good and people are very friendly. My family and I came here for a break from the sun and lake. I had the grilled buffalo chicken sandwich wife had the roast beef sandwich kids has BLT and a Meatball sandwich. The meatball was my favorite! My daughter said her meatball was very good ask for extra napkins! Overall terrific! Only issue couldn't try the wings cause they were out of them :-( read more

The food at Schleicher's is awesome. We tried the fried mushrooms and were blown away. These were not the standard pre packaged button mushrooms. We went for lunch around 1:15 today (a Saturday afternoon in February). It was not crowded. There were 9 people seated at a table for 12 who had already ordered when we arrived, a couple leaving, two women entering as we entered, and our party of five. We waited well over an hour for our food. The party of nine also waited for a long time and there food was brought out in shifts with some people finishing their meals long before others were even served. When I asked why our food took so long, the waiter pointed at the table of nine and sighed as if they were at fault. No apology, no legitimate explanation, no free sodas for our wait, no concern that we were unhappy. The food was excellent but not worth the wait or the apathetic and unresponsive staff. We won't return and wouldn't recommend going there unless you plan to stay all day. read more

Stopped in based on the good reviews and was very happy I did. The food was excellent. Not sure how this was possible but somehow Schleicher's sweet potato fries are twice as good as any sweet potato fries I've had elsewhere.
