Die Zimmer sind neu renoviert und heimelig, wenn auch in der Nacht etwas warm und stickig. Die Seminarräumlichkeiten (z.B. In einem alten Schulhaus, wie cool ist das denn?) bieten alles notwendige und tragen mit ihrem Charme zum Erfolg bei. Der Küche gilt ganz spezielles Lob. Man achtet auf die lokale Herkunft der Zutaten, die Frische merkt man den Menüs an, ebenso die Liebe die ins Kochen gesteckt wird. Es gibt hier keine Fernseher, darum ist man am Abend mal gezwungen sich mit seinen Kollegen Seminarteilnehmern auseinanderzusetzen anstatt in die Glotze zu schauen! (Aber es gibt einen mässig schnellen gratis Internetzugang, immerhin)

When we planned our trip to Lucerne, I knew I wanted to do some sort of chocolate class or tasting…read more After some internet research we booked the 2 hour chocolate tasting and chocolate bar workshop at the event and design studio. The studio itself is very inviting and feels like you are coming into someone's home. After we arrived and checked in we were led into the event kitchen and given hats and aprons to put on for the chocolate bar making. Our host led us through their chocolate sourcing process and then we got to make our own chocolate bars. Once completed she gave us a tour of the working kitchen and we got to watch the head chocolatier making fresh filling and truffles. Once the tour was complete we were led into a dining room space where we got to sample a bunch of the current seasonal truffles and chocolates as well as cacao juice made from the white pulp that surrounds the beans inside the pods. While this class did not turn me into an at home chocolatier, it was very fun and informative and we had a great time. We also got to meet the owner, Patrik, who was incredibly friendly and visited with us about his son Max and how the company got it start.

And I was not disappointed. As soon as I got in I felt home. What was I missing? Friends as I was by myself. But I quickly engaged with some other patrons and, boum, had a great conversation with them. My understanding is that the restaurant opened in February with a great yet simple concept: the powké bowls (Pokémon fans will love it :-). You chose the base (shushi/coco rice or quinoa, the protein, the fruits and/or vegetables, the sauce, and here you go: you have your lunch or dinner. Something that could remind Cava in the US. I didn't try their cocktails, but they looked good, on the menu and on my neighbors' tables ;-) The Apple crumble was a treat to finish a Monday evening dinner. The staff friendliness and discreet attention was appreciated. You can go there with friends or a date. They have tables in and outside which should be perfect for the summer.
