The chocolates were fresh and tasty. They are known for their buckeye chocolates. I also really liked their toffee chocolate.

Schmidt's Fudge Haus gives Santa's Candy Store Vibes The workers are welcoming; and give samples. On my first visit, I tried their triple dipped malted milk balls. It was an instant yes, for me! I bought a pound of malted milk balls, and toffee, just to make sure their candy was good. I did a taste testing at home. All 3 testers (from California) agreed, this was fantastic chocolate. The next day, I bought more. Since then, I've ordered from their web site. Everything has been perfection. This is high quality Belgian chocolate. I'm a California girl, that loves See's Candies. Schmidt's Fudge Haus Candies are on par, or better than, See's Candies. In fact I'm gifting their toffee, to a Californian. We'll see what she thinks. So glad I finally got to enter the store. Last time I was in German Village it was shut down after dinner. I made up for it this time. So many amazing sweet treats from all over the world. I walked around the store at least twice trying to decide on what I should buy. It's a beautiful building and kept very well. They have a huge selection of sugar-free chocolates as well. Of course I didn't buy any, but can't wait to enjoy the buckeye special chocolates.

This is such a cute store with its many candies. The fudge is soft and soo flavourful. The staff is helpful and friendly. What more could you ask for. Come here, you will not regret it.

This place is a good neat place and the fudge is so good and it is made in the store homemade. You should definitely go there. And the staff is so nice and helpful.

This is a must stop in German village for the best fudge! No really, they were voted one of the top homemade fudge shops in the US! There is also a bunch of other traditional candy shop chocolates and items to try, but if you get just one thing, its the fudge. On this visit I got the peanut butter cookies and cream fudge and it did not disappoint. There is also some gift items too. The staff was really nice and helpful. It is a little pricey, but that is to be expected from a local small business.

In German Village, we stopped by Schmidt's Fudge Haus for a bit of something sweet! There's so much chocolate here! And it's all made in house! We actually saw a man making the fudge. He had just completed mixing a very large bowl of chocolatey goodness, then he poured it into a flat dish. All the chocoholics had their eyes on this as they wondered how they could get their hands on this bowl for a good lick! They also have a variety of imported German chocolate and candies. You're not going to find your typical American chocolate such as m&ms and Hershey's. Instead you might find some nostalgic chocolate that you haven't seen in many years. I got some chocolate turtles on my visit to Schmidt's Fudge Haus. These are made of dark chocolate, and the walnuts are placed to look like legs and the head of a turtle. This is very quality chocolate. You could taste the richness of the dark chocolate in each bite. If you aren't into dark chocolate there are so many other varieties to choose from. If you're in the German Village please stop by Schmidt's Fudge Haus for some tasty chocolate.

I walked by the stand for two days and my partner said let's get some. We both got the MUNCHIE BUSTER BOWL and it was amazing. We had different topping and was able to customize it. It was beyond delicious and simply delightful! Fresh fruit and that chocolate is amazing! It you see the stand around town you simply gotta treat yourself. You will not be disappointed.

The display of chocolates was completely mesmerizing and contained a wide variety of truffles and handmade candy bars. The shop owner was very friendly and also gave recommendations on what to try. I tried only two truffles because I was so full from all the foods I tried before: Lavender Hand Rolled Truffle: The truffle itself was very dense and rich with a strong presence of cocoa. Every bite melted in my mouth just like any good quality chocolate. What ruined this one was the lavender flavoring which was so overpowering that all I could taste was cocoa and lavender. Vietnamese Cinnamon Hand Rolled Truffle: I really enjoyed this one. The cinnamon and honey in the truffle paired perfectly with the strong cocoa flavor and the chocolate itself was very rich. If I was ever in the area again, I would probably come by to try their handmade candy bars and white chocolate items.
