When the best version of that type of store closed in the Fargo-Moorhead area 10 years ago, two of their employees (Paul and Bret) embarked on a new venture that would become Flatland Guitar. One has to travel to the Twin Cities or beyond to find a comparable shop. Besides offering first-rate lutherie service (which I have used several times), Flatland has a broad and deep variety of quality new and used acoustic and electric instruments to cover the gamut, from beginners to professional players, including guitars, mandolins, ukuleles, mandolins etc. You can also checkout an impressive array of pedals, amplifiers, cables, strings and other accessories. Not only do I highly recommend Flatland, I have purchased several guitars from them, including my Taylor 810 and most recently a Maton acoustic/electric; Flatland is one of only 17 U.S. dealers of these fine Australian guitars. Mr. Gruber and another employee were working on guitars the whole time I was there but still happy to answer any questions. Most of the guitars there were built or modified; stuff that I had never seen before. He gave me a really good deal on a Jackson and I'd definitely like to buy one of his original guitars one day. If you're in the area, you should check it out!

I can't say enough nice things about the kind lady who helped us. By the time we got to her shop she had two very nice instruments set up and ready to test. We found a violin with a beautiful sound, and rented it for the weekend, for a very reasonable price. I wish I could give more stars

I requested to cancel an auto renew subscription and was totally ignored by GuitarZoom support…read more When I was charged for the subscription I opened a dispute with PayPal, and only then did they finally responded to my messages. They stated they would refund my money within 24 hours if I closed the case on PayPal, But after I closed the case I did not receive the refund, and they ghosted me again. They are a scam, tech support ignores you, and their site is terrible. It's been 5 days and all I get os cricketts... Stay away, far away.
