Found this cozy spot a few blocks off the Stadtpark and figured I'd give it a shot. So glad I did. it was pretty packed when we got ther, we were able to get a high top table after just a few minutes wait. Ordered the beef tartare and schnitzel. Be forewarned, they don't skimp on the portions here. The tartare was delicious and came with a salad and about a half of stick of butter, which was interesting. Schnitzel was big enough to feed at least two people and left me feeling like I had finally experienced a real local meal. Wine was also great and made me wish I could have stayed there drinking it all night. But alas, I had an early flight to catch the next day...

Quite tight seating. Restrooms are not accessible by people with limited mobility. No baby changing stations. The food is okay. The schnitzel was fine and so was lamb. Okay to eat but not memorable. Caprese salad was tasty. In conclusion, if you are passing by and hungry, feel free to stop by. If you are looking for a memorable lunch/dinner experience, plan to visit a different establishment.

The schnitzel here is generous to say the least and it comes with a side "salad" which is actually a plate of slivered cabbage, sliced potatoes, pickles, and some butter leaf lettuce on top for good measure. The dressing they use for this salad is a force to be reckoned with and I absolutely love it. I make it a point to eat here every time I fly in and out since I stay at the Hein Hotel down the street after I land and before flying home. The outdoor patio seating is ample and open but to do be aware that smoking is allowed so that might turn you off. Indoor seating is comfortable and also plentiful. Bathrooms are clean. Serice is prompt. Beers are wonderful. Prices are incomparable for such quality. I will say that the mixed grilled plate (pork, turkey, bacon, ribs) was not very good and if anything, I'd just say order the ribs if you want something of that nature. Get the schnitzel.
