This week's ad featured deli pizza with $2 off. We called to ask about toppings and time till pickup. We were told that they were pre-made any frozen. When I got there and chased down the location, there were none. No pizza for lunch, no substitutions, no other compensation. One star was for helpful staff. read more

What I like about snacks is its variety, and the cleanliness of the store. Some of the people who work there sadly, seem miserable which may or May not have anything to do with their employment. It's not very pleasant however to be shared by someone who doesn't smile but on the contrary frown and does not make eye contact or bother to say hello or basically anything else. Two of the items I have bought at Schnucks in the past are green onion and rotisserie chicken. I've stopped buying those items because the green onion Has brown leaves on it which are rotting on the end, and the rotisserie chickens are tiny. The prices are better at Kroger, and they have a good selection. So I'm going to start shopping there again. read more

I usually go here fir thier deli fried chicken, which is usually good. But today they served up THE WROST fried chicken i think i ever had. It tasted like really old burnt grease..very dry as well. I wont be going back again read more

The Chef Café has the worst customer service ever!! I ordered a Chicken Meal two hours early as I had a Social event planned. I asked for it would be ready 5:15 no later than 5:30!! When I got there at 5:25 pm my meal wasn't ready!! I had to wait 15 minutes I said to the little boy which was the same little boy that took my order this is why I called two hours earlier he said "Dude you didn't even pick your sides" he told me when he took my order not to pick my sides until I got there. He yelled at me again and I said you don't get to yell at me and give me bad customer service!! He turns and walked away and as he was walking away he said Fuck you!! I said what did you say he said you heard me!! He stayed in the back and never finished preparing my order!! I WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER SHOP THERE AGAIN AND NEITHER WILL ANYONE IN MY FAMILY OR FRIENDS!! read more

I have shopped here for about a year and never been amazing but the place is clean and I can usually find what I want and go. Staff have never said hi or can I help you bit never cared about that. Today I tried to check out with about 12 items that I need to make into 2 transactions but was kicked out of self checkout as I was checking out and told 10 items or less only doesn't matter if it's 2 orders. There was only 1 other person using the machines and no one waiting so it seemed a bit much but I complied. I get to the cashier only for him to complain I'm making 2 transactions. I finally asked why is everyone here complaining about people just trying to pay for their groceries. He was very defensive and said I'm not complaining I don't care how many transactions you make. So then why all the running around and grumbling. If you don't want me to check out and pay. No problem there are so many groceries stores to choose from I can go elsewhere. read more

I usually use this Schnucks grocery delivery service. However the times I've been in the actual store I've always had a pleasant experience. In Store Experience: Good: Clean, organised store with a huge variety of products. Also, on one occasion the employee who helped me find an item was very courteous and didn't make me feel like an idiot. On another occasion when an item rung up a higher price at the till than what it should have been, the cashier was also courteous and even made polite small talk about the item in question while another employee ran back to check the price. They didn't make me feel like I was lying or being difficult and they apologized for the inconvenience. Bad: The price problem from above. The prices are a wee bit higher than Wal-Mart. The deli and meat departments seemed under staff, I and other customers were waiting for several minutes just to place an order. However the staff was always polite and it was a busy Friday. Delivery Experience: Good: Shopping online = convenience! The shoppers who do my shopping are very polite and smart! For example; if you order hot dog buns, but the hot dogs you also ordered are out of stock and you didn't ask for a substitution they will call you and ask if you still want the buns. Same goes with produce and expired items. I don't get smashed veggies/fruits or '1 day left before expiration' items. They shop like they're buying for their own family. The delivery drivers are so courteous! I live in a apartment building and they bring the groceries right to my door! Bad: The online site needs an upgrade. It looks and feels out of date. It doesn't list everything the store stocks and some of the items may not be stocked by this particular Schnucks. The site is actually for several Schnucks that deliver. So one store may stock one item but another store may not. Easy way to get around that is to actually call the store and ask or go to the manufactures site and see if that particular Schnucks stocks that item with the 'Locate store nearest you' feature. read more

Great supermarket. It's big, it's clean and they've got a great selection. The bakery and produce areas are definitely a highlight. Yes, the prices can be a little higher but nothing crazy. Plus, I'm just going on a feeling there, I've never actually compared prices. I feel like the selection and clean facilities make it worth a little more here and there. read more

Went only once so far and I was impressed. Seems like a clean homey grocer with plenty of stock and much of what you'd be looking for. If it is open 24 hrs, that is a huge plus! It is not near my home but I would sure go again if in the neighborhood. read more

I love schnucks overall. However the last 4 times I have been to their deli the girls who have served me have been very rude. This last time I went I asked for a lb of boars head sweet slice ham and the girl shaved some kind of ham but it wasn't the right kind. The other girl with her said she was tired of shaving and they talked about how the customers were requesting their meat so thin shaved they should ask for dust. Well since this has been repeated over and over and I got the wrong kind of meat this time I don't think I'll be going back. You need to find some new deli help. read more

I am wondering why the carts are not being sanitized on an individualized basis. When I asked today, I was told by a sacker in a defensive tone, that they were being cleaned every hour. The employee at self serve told another employee who was in her own lane "I am ready to go home". Wow, why would someone say this, who actually has a job right now?? And say it plenty loud enough for customers to hear. I was shocked, to be honest. I am not sure where the management is at this location. I am a loyal shopper here, and am often dismayed at the lack of enthusiasm or friendliness of the employees there, including customer service. Very few smiles, ever. Someone from management needs to make a trip to HyVee, where there is no comparison. They appear to be taking COVID-19 more seriously, and their customer service is always friendly. I feel safer shopping at HyVee , during this scary time. And I also feel more welcome there, at any time. Please do better. Thank you. read more

I've shopped the Peoria area for sixty years. Grocer prices are competitive for like items. Dollar for dollar Peoria prices are less costly than in smaller towns. The difference is in local taxes and the store cost for products. Smaller volume = higher prices in any store. All Schnucks employees are terrific with handicap and senior shoppers regardless of the situation. Need help? Ask at the Service counter. I've shopped Schnucks stores in Peoria, Pekin, and Springfield for 4-5 years. I asked to pick up a product only sold in the Peoria store in Pekin. I did. The Peoria store manager, Jay, is a problem solver who is easy to work with at any time. The Peoria store has a big footprint as it opened inside two former stores in the Metro Center. The floor plan was laid out much like California stores. As a consequence there are large selections of most items, and several aisles of fresh fruit and vegetables that are rotated daily. Specialties include hot carry out foods, deli with fresh meat and cheese, fish, exotic and imported foods. As a whole this store is clean, and staff is attentive. Unlike other stores, Schnucks store managers are generally found on the floor working or with staff or customers. Schnucks stores accept cash, check, credit, debit, and LINK cards. I would like to see staff more visible throughout all the stores. read more

I was so pleased too see this store. I have been looking for a product for a long time . Looked at my local walmart too see if they carry these meatballs that I fail in love with in Missouri. But a no go . So I was out here in and see this store . SCORED bought 5 packs . Yes I am a happy person . The beer out here is alot more pricier than home but they have a great selection . The staff was very kind and friendly. The check out was fast and painless . Sometimes you go to the store and your in line for 20 mins . Great country feeling store . read more

Great selection, mediocre prices, and poor staff make this a decent store that could use some help. This store probably offers the biggest selection of grocery but the price and staff make it less desirable. It does offer delivery service which is a great option. read more

I am a younger person (early to mid twenties) who moved to the area to work for a major company in the Peoria area. As such, I have an out of state driver's license. I was attempting to purchase alcohol from this store, and the cashier checking out my item very loudly refused to accept my driver's license, calling me a liar for presenting a perfectly valid, government-issued ID. The genius "reasoning" behind this? The picture on my card was black and white, and she had never seen that before. Both embarrassing and insulting. I'd advise against anyone from shopping here. read more
