Today I took a more advanced class and we made farmers market tote bags. I was nervous but Amanda is such a great teacher. She shows you step by step how to do everything and explains very well. She is patient and a joy to learn from. I walked out today with an amazing tote bag and feeling more confident with my sewing skills. I can't wait to take another class with Amanda. The location is super cute. An amazing little house filled with craft/art teachers.

I was told to go online to book. I tried but there was no way to add the extra services for the 2 of us. I "chatted" using the website and was told someone would get right back to me. I was planning the appointment for the next day and they never called. One of my friends asked what age qualified for the senior discount. I again asked on chat. The employee was unable to answer me and said someone would get back to me. I told the chat that I was already waiting on a call. All four friends decided to cancel for different reasons, so I went to my appointment alone. I showed up about 5 minutes early. My appointment was at 1. I sat and waited, without any acknowledgement or explanation, until 1:20. I told the receptionist I was on my lunch hour and couldn't sit waiting this long for my appointment, so I needed to cancel. I asked her if this wait was typical and of course she said she didn't really know. I'm just curious why the front desk can't answer any of my questions or book an appointment. So, from the first inquisitive call to the appointment, my experience was horrible. Luckily, there's a college of beauty across the street and I was able to get an appointment with them tomorrow....hopefully it will be better than Milan.

These issues include: * Promises that cannot be made * Workers have to ensure no projects are broken as there are no backups * Inventory leaves no space or time for errors * Inventory is almost never sufficient, so workers are frantic * The children are rushed through lessons, instead of a 45min rotation as parents are told * Most of the time, teachers are completing the projects for the student * Overall unpreparedness/unorganization on the owner's part * Literally a sweatshop * The owner displays inappropriate behavior in front of members' children * Each of her employees are NOT background checked (this, I know to be true). I can confirm that 8 of her employees were never fingerprinted, myself included * She denied her employees 10min breaks (which is required by CA law) when asked * Her payroll has failed to be paid out to her emloyees as a business owner. When 7/8 of your employees refused to work under these conditions, you have to question what/who the real problem is. * When payroll is delayed, we (the workers) are made to feel guilty about the ownerms financial issues, yet she's out on vacations and throwing the responsibilities on the employees. * When problems arise and need to call, she does not pick up the phone
