I appreciated how helpful and engaging the staff were. My room was large and modern with very sleek and minimalistic touches. The bed was extremely comfortable and the linens were soft. The blackout curtains provided wonderful darkness to sleep in and the shower had great water pressure. I appreciated all of the little touches like providing water and any necessary toiletries in a common area on each floor as well as local fresh ground coffee beans to make in the room. They provided valet parking and were swift in there responses to request. Although I did not try the on-site restaurant, I heard wonderful things about it. I did thoroughly enjoy the coffee shop that was located next-door and highly recommend it. I would most definitely stay here again the next time I am in town visiting.

I forgot my toothbrush -- there's a "guest pantry" on each floor with complimentary toothbrushes, sewing kits, etc etc. A town car will take you anywhere nearby for no charge. French press coffee in your room, no nasty "hotel coffee maker" nonsense. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Walking distance to the museum and a zillion restaurants. Great hotel, stay here!

The Good: *Free admission to the Longfellow Garden (May - Oct) during normal hours of operation *Wadsworth-Longfellow House is a separate part of the museum, with a separate fee ($18/GA). We didn't do this, so I can't comment if it's worth it. *Admission is reasonable at $12/adults *Reciprocity program with other museums, if you're a member ($25-75/year). *Located in beautiful Downtown Portland The Meh: *Not the world's biggest museum, as you can probably see the whole thing in 1-2hrs, depending on how much you read the placards for each item/display. The Ugly: *Location is in Downtown Portland, which is great, but you'll most likely have to deal with paying for parking at one of the garages. Pro Tip: If the garage DOESN'T advertise their pricing on the outside, then skip it on and move onto the next one that does. Evidently these predatory parking garages are a big thing here in DT Portland. Conclusion: Nice place to visit if you're in Portland and looking for a little culture.

There are several paid parking lots, which is a short walk to the water to see the lighthouse. They have a small gift shop adjacent to the lighthouse. There are several food trucks around the area where you can purchase food and dine on picnic tables or on the grassy area. Also, you can walk a path along the waters edge to get a good view of the rocks and ocean. It's so beautiful and relaxing. We ended up walking around for about two hours. I highly recommend visiting Portland, headlight and enjoying the beautiful views.
