Prior to high school, I was an MPS, and then a WAWM public school student. DSHA is such a positive world of difference compared to public schools. The teachers at DSHA truly care about the girls, ALL of the girls. They expect excellence because they know you are capable of excellence. They truly care, and want to see you do well. This is not just a "paycheck" for them. The academics are stellar with an abundance of AP courses offered. How many high schools can say not only did 100% of students graduate, but were ALSO accepted into 4-year universities? Very few. DSHA has a fantastic athletic program as well with quite a few championships. Many athletes are student scholars. Lastly, DSHA is a school centered around the Catholic faith with theology classes, retreats, and service opportunities. A student does not have to be Catholic though to attend as there are students of Jewish, Muslim, and Protestant faiths. DSHA transforms girls in to strong, confident, well-rounded, educated young ladies ready to take on the world! A DSHA grad is a force to be reckoned with. Please do not take my word for it though. I've had at least some contact with almost every teacher here and have really seen amazing work. As a student teacher in the area, I worked in Greenfield, Brookfield, Wauwatosa, Franklin, and Milwaukee schools and this one has been my favorite. The families here are very supportive of the unique education their children are blessed to have. If you are looking at possible schools for your child, research immersion style learning and see if it is for your family. All topics are taught in German from pre-K onward all day. The kids pick it up through exposure and practice as they enter upper classes. English instruction starts in 2nd grade. Many think the children will be behind - not the case. The school actually has above average scores in all content areas. They still can speak English fine because they hear it outside of school and begin an understanding of language structure from being taught mechanics of it. The kids here are also exceptional. Much fewer issues than other schools. Good neighborhood too. If you plan to enroll the cut off age is 1st grade or they are too far behind. There is also a waitlist, so enroll as soon as enrollment opens up!

This sounds like something you'd hear from a seedy club at 2 am, not a private religious school. This occurs all day, on and off, making work from home and meetings impossible. It's disappointing that the school has such little regard for the local community in which they reside.

This is a fantastic school! All four of my children…read more attended and they loved everything about it. This exemplary school prepared them well to succeed in high school and taught them to love learning. They were grounded in their faith and enjoyed the many extra curricular activities like sports, Math league, STEM, music and art. The administration and teachers are the best in the area and they really care about our kids. Plus the facilities are first class with the latest in technology and physical comforts. If you are looking for world class education this is the place for you.
