He kept his head down and flew under the radar and was diagnosed with high functioning ASD in 9th grade. TGS knocks down the walls of judgment against neurodiverse kids that exist in public schools and give them new tools to achieve their potential each day in creative ways so that kids learn to express themselves and feel heard and accepted.

My son has been able to get out of his defensive mode (which has obstructed his ability to learn) because he is finally receiving the necessary accommodations for his Aspergers and ADHD learning profile. The school, with its amazing and dedicated staff, has helped him move forward not only with his academics, but has provided valuable tools to help him with his social skills and emotional regulation as well. He looks forward to going to school now and feels grateful to be in a place where he is valued, respected and understood. We love the community and integrity that comes along with The Temple Grandin School and we have much hope for our son's future accomplishments.

She enjoys seeing all her classmates (she hated not having school over winter break), singing, playing "family", and running all around the giant outdoor play area. The teachers stay in communication weekly and keep us up to date on class activities, parent learning opportunities, and the progress of our daughter. I appreciate that the snacks are healthy and that they are proactive about allergies. Her teachers are so kind and highly experienced and give the children the tools and the space to develop their interpersonal skills.

He's now learning Spanish at an AP level where he once floundered in incomplete assignments. He's actually learning, not just showing up and turning in busywork. Earlier struggles at school extended to his social and emotional life. It was hard to see him struggle when knew him to be bright, funny, insightful, and kind. September School has drawn that out. We also love the policy of not giving homework, which means assignments get completed in class and school stays at school. September School certainly isn't right for every kid, but for those that need a non-traditional learning environment, it's amazing.

The school has also been exceptional in its handling of safety and health precautions for the students as well as the broader community - and we love getting our weekly communications from the division heads, and the school at-large.
