On an autumn day it was kind of cold and warm at the same time so we sat outside. The atmosphere was good! Ordered the pork steak (served on a loaf of bread(?)), tomato soup, and some sort of grilled sandwich. They were all great, I love them. I'd order another bowl of tomato soup if I wasn't full already. It had whipped cream on it which I actually hate but hey, it was delicious anyway. The pork steak had some caramelized onions with some sauce that Idk what. I'm not much of an onion fan but the one they served earlier was good. They know what they are doing. As for the sandwich, it wasn't my meal but my boyfriend was happy with it, so I guess it was good! The price and portion were reasonable. The man who served us which I assume was the owner spoke some English. He's very helpful and nice. I'd love to come back again. I'll try to, they are worth another visit.

We met a great local at Slyrs and without hesitation she said we should stop here. We were so happy with the choice! The restaurant is very close to the water and has indoor and outdoor seating that is covered and a great menu filled with great German dishes. There are also several chalk boards with the specials of the day. I don't think you could go wrong with any choice on the menu! My dish was amazing! I had two potato pancakes with a sausage on top, meat underneath with sauerkraut underneath that and some gravy on top! Gravy makes everything better and this dish was so flavorful I would order it again any day. My husband got pork with a potato dumpling that was topped with gravy and his was equally delicious, I have a feeling everything there is great! They do have a dinner menu that starts at 5 that has some awesome choices and the dessert was great as well. The service was great, they were very nice and made sure we enjoyed the food and had everything we needed through the whole meal. If we visit the area again we'll definitely be back!
