It is adjacent to Wallace Gardens, so, at this time of year, you can see the beautiful green fields full of growing plants. There are a myriad of picnic tables and benches between the sports fields and the playground. A real bonus is all of the terrific trees providing a lot of comfortable shade all around. A parking lot is available here. The larger playground is located sort of caddy corner down the street at Wyman Woods, but this was much less crowded and part of it was shaded, so those were some nice perks on a hot summer day!

There is really something else cool nearby - a community garden, which began its life as a Victory Garden during the Second World War - residents apply for and garden plots beginning every spring. Back to McKinley Field: The playground is frequently visited during the day by families and their children and the adjacent parking lot by city workers who want some place to relax and eat their food for lunch. It's a very serene place with a beautiful canopy of trees, green, and so calming. Just the right spot and a only few minutes drive to get away from the hustle and bustle of a downtown Columbus workday.

Plenty of parking, well-kept, easy to get to. I went to ride my bike, and that's where things went a bit downhill. There's not much room to ride in the park- great for kids, not for anyone interested in a longer ride. The paths connect to the Mudsock trail, which is mostly gravel. On the other end you can try to get to Hilliard Municipal park, which isn't much better. I recommend the many fine trails in other parts of central Ohio. In Hilliard, maybe start at Homestead Park and work north.

There's a creek here that they recently restored back to its original winding way and replanted native trees and plants. They also put a new bridge over it. It looks decent now. It had been just a straight trench filled with mostly stagnant water. In the 1800's the creek had been straightened for farm irrigation. Now it has been restored back to its original natural look. There's a paved trail that goes around the pond. It's good for joggers and bike riders or your kid's power wheels. There's plenty of parking here and a portapottie if you can stomach it. I usually just hold my pee.

A large sign indicated that the fields are available for rent for tournaments and similar events. Plentiful parking is available throughout.

Many of nice days that we could have played but no one cared to work on the fields. They should have staff to fix the fields after a rain to ensure we can play games. I have seen many bikers and runners stop and admire the scenery. It's not as popular as Whetstone but it's a very nice place to play or watch. There's a baseball field and basketball court. It's not that hard to find a parking spot. The lot in the north area is big enough. It also has an area that's connected to the Olentangy Wetlands by a bridge. This is a nice way to get a view of the river. I like these not as well known parks like Clinton-Como Park. It's not crowded like the bigger ones. There are some nice views of the Olentangy River from many areas and there's also good athletic and play equipment to keep kids busy while you hang out there.

This park goes horizontal between 4th St.and Summit St. and it is in what I would call the "University District." I didn't notice a parking lot but there was easy access to street parking, which is always nice. There were plenty of benches, tons of trees, a giant playground for the kiddos, covered picnic tables, and basketball courts. I noticed a couple dogs while we were walking and would have to say, it's perfect for anyone with animals in the area. My sister and I both commented on how much our niece and nephews would like it. Needless to say, we'll be back.

I've driven by it multiple times but never paid attention…read more I came on a Saturday just before noon to help out with an event that the Civic Association puts on. There were tons of other organizations tabling, a DJ, and police on horses. The neighborhood is predominantly black, so that's who I mostly saw, along with white and Hispanic people here and there. There's a playground and basketball courts. Most of the policemen were white and I was glad to see that they were engaging with some of the people in the park. With the current issues of police brutality and racism, it's good to see that people want to dismantle such barriers and prejudices. I even saw one white policemen dancing with the African American kids. It was beautiful!!! Brutus, OSU's mascot also stopped by. How fun!! I took a picture with him since I have never seen him on campus. It's such a wonderful park and I'm glad that the community came together for this event! I'm interested in volunteering again here! One downside is parking. The lot is tiny!! I parked in the fire lane (oops!), but so did others. Parking around here isn't easy, so maybe park close to campus if all the spots are filled.

There is a pretty large play space on hand too - two sets of swings, including traditional, baby/toddler, and an accessible one - bouncy vehicles to "ride," a section of neat climbing and balancing options, some of which we hadn't seen before, and a playground with slides, climbing options, an angled monkey bar for an intriguing challenge, and more. It has the added benefit of keeping kids running from one section to another, but you can still see them from the benches. There is some shade from nearby trees, as well. Parking is on the street, and someone has been taking really good care of the signage area - the flowers are gorgeous! Fun playground option!

This is a long, skinny park, between the neighborhood and the railroad tracks. Tennis courts, a tiny soccer pitch, and, the attraction for us, a pretty impressive playground. Swings, nice benches for the parents, a large playground plus a small one for toddlers, etc.
