I still enjoyed myself and took two loops around the curvy trail with very slight inclines and declines. There's a large play area for kids and a caboose set up on rails. The bench in the middle of nowhere Demanded it's picture be taken and I actually sat there quietly for a few minutes. It was very restorative I would return to this park to walk my dog on the loop.

The Presidential Oak Grove, which is technically Hanby Park, is a small park located in Westerville…read morebehind the Westerville Public Library. Parking for the park is either on the street, or you can try to find a spot in a parking lot which is accessible from Walnut Street. While the park is small, it crams quite a bit into a very small footprint. The park contains a pretty awesome playground. Some of the play sets are pretty futuristic and have some really awesome designs. This was nothing like I had growing up. We had that crazy, squeaky merry go round that you would spin as fast as possible to see who flew off first, or threw up, and the half dome jungle gym which for some reason was always placed over a concrete slab. This park has a fort, some awesome swings, and a great fountain feature you turn on with the palm of your hand. In addition to the play ground, this park has an ingeniously designed shelter, throwing back to a train depot, and the bricks are laid out to look like a pair of railroad tracks. There are also water fountains and a bathrooms on the read of this shelter, along with several plaques giving you historical tidbits. This small park is also a launch point for portions of the Erie to Ohio trail which pass through Westerville, namely Towers trail, which has several branches, including one that leads to the nearby Hoover Reservoir. Most notably, and the namesake, are a grove of oak trees, 8 of which have a plaque in honor of each of the United States Presidents which came from Ohio. An additional oak tree has a plaque which states "Who will be next?"

There's a bunch of picnic tables under an awning and also some picnic tables out in the sunshine. There's a park with a climbing wall type structure that looks pretty cool. I'm almost 30 so there's no way I've gotten the courage to climb it yet. Maybe one day. Lol There's a few different jungle gym pieces and quite a few swings. Also a handicap swing which is so neat and inclusive. There's a little water park for the kids in the summertime and large swing benches along the water park which are fun to sit on in any weather. It's very relaxing there and we sometimes take books or snacks and sit in the grassy patch to enjoy watching life go by on nice sunny days. There's a Dairy Queen right down the road from here so sometimes we walk there first and bring treats back to enjoy in the park. Our pup likes the kids size peanut butter sundae best. There really is a lot jampacked in a small area here but this is a pretty neat park to have close to home. If I had kids I could definitely see myself spending a day here. Kids seem to love the water park that shoots water out of the ground. I mean, how could they not love that?! Lol I love it and I'm an adult! There is plenty of parking on the street in the neighborhood and also right behind the library. There's so much parking behind the library.

At least it seems to; my GPS was useless finding entrances to those, and on the map they are adjacent. There has to be some access. We were there for the playground, of course. And it is small, but nice enough. And: in the shade, important on these 95 degree days. Baby K loved it. Small playset, swings, a few other things to play on. And: dirty. The playset was filthy. There was trash all over the ground. Not windblown, just tossed around. Sad.

For years I never visited Nafzger Park because of it's lack of scenery . Only trees on its…read moreperimeter and no lovely gardens like Goodale park. The park is very open and plain, with huge fields for soccer and foot ball. There is a 3/4 track that runs around the park. There is also a swing set and small play ground for children. Now that I am older I can appreciate the open space. I consider this for safety reasons as these days I am concerned with people hiding and attacking others. Also because its open think that discourages illegal activity, as everyone can pretty much see what you are doing. I come here and walk the track and bring my son to play. Sometimes I bring my dog along as well. There aren't a huge number of dogs here which is good and most of the ones who do come are small breeds so I am not too concerned with my pup's safety.

There is a paved, multi use trail that goes throughout and a rental shelterhouse available. It looks like there are usually restrooms and water fountains open at the shelterhouse, though they seem to still be closed for the time being. The park is very kid friendly, and a visit here is a good way to enjoy the nice weather we've been having!

Nearby is a solar picnic pavilion that generates solar power and offers great shade and picnic tables to take a break from all of the fun. There's a large pond near the parking lot, a memorial located behind the municipal buildings and police department, and winding paved paths that take you around to all of the sights and sounds of the park. The parking lot is good sized and offers some EV charging stations.

Scioto Park is where you will find Leatherlips Monument, a beautiful work of public art dedicated…read moreto a local Native American legend. That's why we visited! We wanted to see this awesome statue, because Dublin has lots of amazing public art, and Leatherlips is one of them. But there is so much more to Scioto Park. This is one of the main public parks in Dublin, and it's the site of outdoor concerts in the summer and sledding in the winter. There are also nature trails, a playground, picnic shelters, lots of grassy areas, and places on the trail where you can view the Scioto River, which runs through the park. We also stumbled upon a cute statue diorama of a turtle and a beaver. My kids are obsessed (literally obsessed) with beavers, so when we accidentally came across a beaver statue hidden in the brush, they lost their little minds. You can find these statues near the parking lot.
