Island City Mall is a 3 floor shopping complex that is clean, organised and modern. You have to pass through mall security to enter and exit and all stores/businesses have security personnel also. Which is a nice feature in modern society.  The mall was packed with people and Jollibee had a large crowd inside. The customers were mostly families, women with young children. It was impressive how this Jollibee restaurant ran in a precise machine like manner to handle the large flow of customers.  I ordered the Jolly Super Meal, a fried chicken drumstick (Chickenjoy), small cup of white rice with a small gravy holder, burger steak patty in mushroom gravy, spaghetti covered with a sweet ketchup type sauce topped with shredded cheese, soft drink. The Chickentjoy, rice was tasty, the rest was ok. I did not care for the ketchup spaghetti.  If you need to visit the bathroom (comfort room) there are no sinks. Sinks are located in the wash area which is beside the comfort doors. Jollibee is the Philippine version of McDonalds/KFC.  Note: No meal in the Philippines is complete unless rice is served. Rice is a requirement for every meal.

It comes with rice and a papaya side dish. We also ordered kinilaw to share. So good. And the chicken is juicy with a fabulous marinade on it. The kinilaw is very much the Filipino version of ceviche. Light and refreshing. We also got halo halo. Decent. Not the best I've had but it's a good option. Could use more toppings. Still refreshing to eat on a hot day! They have hand washing stations outside which is helpful since the food is sticky and a bit messy to eat. Tons of covered seating here with great views of the ocean.

This is one of the most awesome views I've ever had from a restaurant. I simply don't like the food as much as the Bayawan branch. I think this is because they served their coke in cans whole Bayawan served theirs in glass bottles. A very picturesque setting that was ruined by horrible canned Cokes. The only Cokes that are worth a damn are Mexican Coke. The Philippines should take note. Mexico made Coke only use Mexican sugar in their Coke. Their glass bottles Cokes tastes OK. The canned Coke is HORRIBLE. They both list "Sugar and/or High Fructose Corn Syrup" I still think that is why everybody in America has diabetes. Unrelated I know. I just hate bad coke.

But in the Philippine BonChon is Fish & Chips or calamari with plain white rice, the the chicken is full size pieces in order to compete with Jollibee and McDonald's. The Fish & Chips will make your mouth water! It really is such a delicious meal for a pretty small amount of pesos. Their fish is tasty, crispy and best of all, spicy! Don't get me wrong, their fried chicken is also pretty good, and comes in the same flavors you used too, Soy Garlic, Spicy, Honey Citrus, or Crunchy Garlic, all which taste great. In the States, two pieces of fried chicken just isn't enough because because of size but here it is. You can order the other dishes of BonChon, their Chapchae, Fish Tacos I hear it is really good, Chicken Sandwich, Bulgogi Noodle Soup, and their sweet potato fries.

You'll find Pork, Chicken, Sausage, and Lumpia, all served crispy and paired with a signature vinegar dipping sauce that cuts right through the richness. The Vibe & Essentials It's a rustic, high-energy spot that can get quite crowded. Timing: It gets busy fast! Aim for off-peak hours to snag a seat without the wait. Hydration: They only serve Mountain Dew. If you aren't looking for a sugar rush, bring your own bottled water. Climate Control: It gets hot and humid. I highly recommend bringing a portable fan and a small towel to stay comfortable. The Verdict Is it a five-star luxury experience? No. Is it a delicious, authentic, and fun time? Absolutely. Despite the heat and the limited drink options, the food and the atmosphere make it a win. We'll definitely be back for another round!

Alright... you're rolling through Cebu, Philippines... and your feed keeps screaming about this…read morespot. No white tablecloths. No reservations. Just smoke, sizzling oil, and a crowd that knows exactly what's up. So yeah... we had to pull up. This is Punko-Punko sa Fuente. Street food chaos--in the best possible way. Here's how it works. You walk up to this table stacked with a glorious, borderline dangerous pile of fried goodness. No menus. No fuss. You point at what you want. The person running the table grabs it, chops it into bite-sized pieces right in front of you, and hands it back like it's street gold. You grab some rice--wrapped in these heart-shaped woven coconut leaves--dip everything into that sharp, punchy vinegar sauce... and now you're eating the way Cebu wants you to eat. First up--Chicharon Bulaklak. Crispy. Chewy. Salty in all the right ways. This thing hits like a late-night food dream. 9.5 outta 10. Then the Liempo. Thin strips, but still thick enough to get that porky texture. Juicy. Perfectly seasoned. No nonsense. Solid 9 outta 10. Next--Lumpiang Shanghai. Golden. Crunchy. That crisp snap when you bite in? Yeah... it's there. Filling is rich, savory, comforting. 8.9. Then the Stuffed Crab. The filling? I love it. Crab's there, veggies are there. Maybe a little more veggie than I'd like--but hey, some people might swear by it. 7.7. But the sleeper hit? The egg with veggies. Hard-boiled egg wrapped in this veggie mixture and fried until the outside's got attitude. The combo just works. Unexpected. Bold. Delicious. 9.5 easy. This place? No frills. No filters. Just Cebu street food doing what it does best--big flavor, fast hands, and zero apologies. If you're ever in Cebu... do yourself a favor. Pull up a stool. Grab some vinegar. And get messy.
